Surprisingly the Last Movie You Saw Didn't Suck

Gone Baby Gone. Pretty decent.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Freaking amazing.

I've concluded Casey Affleck is incredibly talented.
could never get into that flick
Why? I think it would have been much better on Broadway, as intended, but it wasn't bad at all.

Don't know. Its just one of those films that puts me asleep every time I watch it. But then again, outside of Cannibal (and both Fantasia films if you want to count them), I can't say that I'm the biggest fan of musicals

I really liked Stardust, though it was pretty decent (saw it on a plane).

Anyway my last netflix movie was magnolia. WTF was up with the raining frogs?

Watched two this weekend

- Perfect Stranger: Fell asleep...inconslusive ;)
- Resident Evil: Extinction - Pretty good, I enjoyed it. Not the best, but not horrible either.

I watched the extended director's cut of American Gangster the other night. The new footage especially at the ending was really nice.
Hog Wild wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. Genuinely enjoyable.

(William H. Macy ftw)
Yes, I agree, I was definitely the best part of that film

Buy Wild Hogs on DVD and Blu-Ray Disc today!

"This was not just a matter of chance. These strange things happen all the time."

(It's essentially the theme of the movie.)

My eyeballs were nearly ejected from their sockets after watching...
Employee of the Year

Luckily, a re-watching of Lawrence of Arabia averted a dangerous situation, and my eyes are in place and recovering nicely.

You might want to spoiler your post pittpizza like I did ^

Furthermore from IMDB trivia:
SPOILER: When the frogs are falling, we see a caption on a picture in Claudia's apartment, "but it did happen". And it did. This happens when storms pass over a lake teeming with frogs, picking them up and dumping them elsewhere. This happened in the town of Villa Angel Flores in Mexico after a tornado picked up a cluster of toads and dropped them over the town one evening in June, 1997.
Hot Fuzz

Be Kind, Rewind - I thought it was good, enjoyed it.
Agreed on Hot Fuzz. I loved the whole buddy-buddy relationship that Nick and Danny had; it felt completely genuine throughout the movie and didn't go into some sickly sweet 'I love you, man' 'No, I love you more, man' type of territory.

As for Be Kind, Rewind, I'm kind of leery. The premise sounds good, but Jack Black is about as funny to me as watching paint dry.

Semi-Pro
6.5/10

Had some funny stuff, some overplayed stuff, and some completely unnecessary dramatic scenes, but overall, I think Will Ferrell needs to take a break from playing this same role over and over again

The Darjeeling Limited

Never heard of it up till today, but is a really good movie. I strongly recommend it. Plus you get to see some hot Natalie Portman action in the very beginning.

Fight Club 4/5

This movie was awesome. That is pretty much all I can say. The characters, the plot twist, the cinematography, everything was great.

Gone Baby Gone - was actually pretty good.
The Hunting Party - another great movie and I'm normally not a fan of Richard Gere but the pairing of Terrence Howard and Richard Gere works very well.

Great movie. I loved it. However, if you don't like the Wes Anderson style, you're going to hate this movie.

Re-watched Being John Malkovich over the weekend for the first time in a while. Now that I've got a new HDTV I'm pretty much going to be going back through my entire DVD collection. I also picked up a copy of The Darjeeling Limited yesterday but haven't watched it yet.

The King of Kong: Fistful of Quarters - it was okay, expected it to be a little more interesting than it was, then again I don't really care for the sort of skill that goes into playing arcade games

I hope to rewatch The Darjeeling Limited, I wasn't crazy about Wes Anderson but I loved the movie when I saw it in theaters. It was actually my #2 favorite movie of 2007.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

On par with No Country For Old Men as far as one of the best films of all time.

I enjoyed 30 days of night. Not as much scary as much as an action survival horror almost. I had a few people tell me it is bad and it isn't even worth renting, but I really enjoyed it. Good characters good setting, shot really well, I'd recommend it to anyone who is a fan of survival horror-esque movies.

Other than the cliched ending, the movie is really good

Without a Paddle - a few funny lines. Nothing more really, though i did enjoy Seth Green and Mathew Lillard. Dax was mostly annoying.

Ya I could have done without the way it ended, but I enjoyed the rest of the movie up until then.

Beowulf ..............I dont know what to say about it, it wasnt good at all in my opinion, the umm....Acting?!? was flat and toneless and the story was mauled by Neil Gaimen inserting Literally a chapter from his American Gods book, and it ended really weak...also beowulf's Psycho third person rants reminded me alot about "300"

oh and also ....
High Heels?....really?....Seriously
I'm gonna lay down and watch Life Aquatic. Never seen it, but I hear it is good.
Meh.

A blight on an otherwise perfect career, in my opinion. The worst thing that Wes Anderson has ever done.

Did you like it?

That's probably my second favorite of his behind Rushmore. i still need to see Darjeeling Limited.

Pan's Labyrinth 5/5

I watched this movie when it first came out like a year ago, but I watched on a DVD Screener Rip and I loved the movie, instantly one of my favorite movies of all time.

However yesterday I got it on Blu-Ray from Netflix and watched it, this is definately the way to go. The color and the world were so vivid it just added an extra touch to the movie.

Also, just talking about the movie, it is still my favorite. All of the characters were casted perfectly and did an impeccable job. The cinematography is some of the best you will ever see and the ending is one of the most emotional ever in my book.

Excellent Movie.

Rushmore is indeed untouchable, but I enjoyed Life Aquatic. I'd put it below Royal Tenenbaums and Darjeeling, but still enjoyable.
