Quantum of Solace - Meh. I like Daniel Craig as Bond. I like Bond as a vicious sonufabitch. I didn't like the movie. Too, I dunno, contrived? Weird to say about a Bond movie but whatever.

The Stranger - I'm losing my faith in horror movies. I was hoping this one would be genuinely creepy but it wasn't.

For what it's worth, I loved Quantum of Solace, as did my friend. I don't understand all of the hate this movie has gotten.

Tonight I watched:

Poltergeist (had never seen it, what a great flick!)
The tail end of Twister
Air Force One

I didn't mean to watch these three movies in particular tonight, but it turns out they were all connected!

Steven Spielberg produced Poltergeist and Twister.
Jerry Goldsmith did the score for Poltergeist and Air Force One.

How cool is that?!
 
Stranded (2002) - A decent TV miniseries/movie adaptation of Swiss Family Robinson.

Night Moves - A great detective flick that is a must see.

I kinda want to see that, if only for the Gustavo Santaolalla soundtrack. I've got his Ronroco album and it's fucking great. That Iguazu song is on there (from Babel, Deadwood, various other movies).

Anybody who wants to see a cool movie, check out Princess And The Warrior. I think it was made after Run Lola Run but it's so much better.

and i guess the last one i saw was

Death Race Which was acctually okay.
 
Is there anything out in the theaters worth seeing right now? I mean anything, not anything genre specific. Transporters 1 and 2 were my introduction to Jason Stratham but apparently 3 isnt going to be worth the cha ching. After seeing Quantum of Solace i need a different paced movie, and that one doesnt sound like it...

I just watched Reign Over Me. I found it to be really good, although incredibly sad at certain parts of the film; well worth watching, though.

I was freaking blown away! I sat through Audition and Ichi The Killer with no problem at all but City really made me want to turn at head away at certain parts. Freaking awesome movie!

At least Bluth's earlier films hold up remarkably (The Secret of NIMH and American Tail IMO got better as I grew up and I loved those as a kid). Would love to see the full length Banjo The Woodcat (I know only a little bit made it past the initial planning after they thought of turning it into a full length but it would be cool to see the dark stuff they were planning)

Me neither. I mean, it wasn't Casino Royale, but it was still quite enjoyable.
 
There are a couple of reasons that Quantum is horrible.
1. James Bond is not Jason Bourne.
2. Whoever invented Shaky Cam needs to be fucking hit by a bus.
3. The story made no sense at all, what happened to Mr.White? Why did Bond Randomly Buy a Plane?
4. Awful Bond Villain. He is as threatening as a 12 year old school girl.
5. Awful Bond Girl.
6. I don't feel like going on and on about all the plot holes, and how the Bond Universe needs new writers.

Just for fun, did you enjoy Casino Royale? It's miles above QoS, but it would be hard to live up to it anyways.
QoS has a few plot holes, but it's a very enjoyable movie. The chick was fine. Bond not fucking her, not fine. Although it's implied why. Not having any gadgets kind of sucked, and they need to replace Q. I personally enjoyed all the action.

One could just as easily say that you have no comprehension of what they're trying to do with Bond, which is turn him into something more realistic, rather than the tired cliche he was.

I can't blame you, unlike some who would like to chastise you. I thought Casino Royale was shit as well. The worst Bond flick I've ever seen. I wouldn't even go as far as calling it a Bond flick. Daniel Craig is the worst Bond ever. I can't stand him, especially since they passed over more capable actors for Bond such as Clive Owen. Clive Owen would have given a great impression as Bond. He's a phenomenal actor. Daniel Craig doesn't have the look, the feel, nor the vibe for being Bond. At least Brosnan had those points going for him, though 2 of the films they put him in were shit, with two being passable and one actually being good (I still like GoldenEye).

I like some of the Brosnan films. And let's not forget if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have the great GoldenEye game and Agent Under Fire (severly overlooked title that is actually good for a Bond game).
