Surprisingly the Last Movie You Saw Didn't Suck

the Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Interesting idea for a movie. Was rather surprised when they
actually had him go from an adult to a baby, didn't think they would actually do that

Another recommendation for "Drag me to Hell."
That old woman was so creepy. I swear she wanted to bite the main character's neck.

Just saw Being John Malkovich for the first time, having seen Eternal Sunshine a while ago and liking it a lot.

Malkovich was a really good, enjoyable movie. It just didn't have the same effect that Eternal Sunshine had for me though. Still liked every minute of it.

I totally agree with your sentiment regarding Being John Malkovich, though I saw Being John Malkovich first before moving onto Eternal Sunshine.

Eternal Sunshine>Adaptation>Being John Malkovich>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Synecdoche, New York

After seeing UP I realized I never saw Toy Story. Damn good flick. Not my favorite Pixar film but even a good Pixar film is amazing compared to other production companies.

Wow, so Synecdoche wasn't any good? I haven't seen it, but I'd like to.

Same here. It's the only one of his I haven't seen yet.

Anyone have a suggestion for me to watch on Netflix instant queue tonight (in the next 30-40 minutes)? I'm looking for something light hearted.

Saw Casino Royale on USA channel or one of those channels and it's a lot better than the Pierce Brosnan ones, which I usually lose interest in watching. Pierce always seemed too smug and he never seemed to get hurt. I'll probably go watch quantom of solace now.

Re: Pixar - does anyone think they're overrated? The only movies I really liked was Monsters Inc. and Finding Nemo for its colorful graphics/design (story was meh). The animation is always top notch but the stories and movies as a whole aren't very entertaining to me. they portray some mature themes in an animated film and then everyone raves about them as great E rated movies. They always seem to bring up stuff that will hit home with the adults and stuff they can relate to (Cars and Bug's Life being the exceptions and most adults tend to think those are the "worst" Pixar movies). At this point it's the adults/parents dragging their kids to watch these movies.

I still prefer Disney's Little Mermaid or The Lion King over Pixar's stuff. I think that Lion King is so well crafted that it's not just the best animated movie but that it could contend against any movie and still be considered great.

Anyone see Pelham?

I would say they are overrated, but I've never felt any need to watch any of their films, other than parts of Toy Story I've seen. I still prefer Disney's handdrawn films despite being so glad to see CG starting to be used back in the 90s.

3699 E. McKinney, Bldg E
Dallas
Filmmaker Woody Allen returns to New York with an offbeat comedy about a crotchety, world class grouch named Boris (Larry David, writer/star of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and co-creator of "Seinfeld"). One night, he is about to enter his apartment when he is approached by a young runaway named Melody (Evan Rachel Wood) who begs to be let inside. Seeing that she is hungry and cold, he reluctantly agrees. Melody turns out to be dewy-eyed innocent from Mississippi, who takes every sarcastic comment Boris makes completely literally. Boris helpfully tells her she is too fragile to survive in New York, but he allows her to stay for a "few nights." But as time passes, Melody makes herself at home, and shows no intention of moving out. When her uptight parents (Patricia Clarkson and Ed Begley, Jr.) arrive to rescue her from the misanthropic Boris, they are quickly drawn into wildly unexpected romantic entanglements. Everyone discovers that finding love is just a combination of lucky chance and appreciating the value of "whatever works." Co-starring Michael McKean and Conleth Hill.

How come people just post the movies they've seen instead of giving them a rating or saying how good or bad they were?

Because they're self-important idiots.

Iowa - This is just bad film making but a few amazing shock value moments.
Eagle vs. Shark - This was an amazingly sweet, funny and awkward love story. If you like The Flight of the Conchords you will like this.
Palo Alto, CA - Meh, it is one of those movies that has been done before but better.

Because if people actually gave a shit about some random person's opinion, they could just ask.

I like getting the opinion of a fellow CAG myself, rather than just inform myself of what somone has seen. Same with games. I find it often helps to get the opinion of a normal person rather than some reviewer paid to review stuff. And I don't think it would make much sense to ask every person for their opinion on each movie.

Away We Go was legit. Watched it opening night, and I caught myself laughing out loud quite often.

UP 3D was good too. Was kinda faded so I think it made it a little better than it really was.
