CAGiversary!
I rewatched The Matrix trilogy this weekend. The first two films yesterday, and the third film today. I felt the same about the first film, awesome film, and its story stands alone, and didn't need any sequels. I wasn't looking forward to watching the sequels, but damn, they were fucking great. There was no 4 years of anticipation and hype, (and no eventual disappointment because the sequels dared to not be clones of the original film), between the first and second films, or 6 months of negativity between the second and third films. It just felt like one big seven hour epic story. I didn't find the sequels boring at all, they're action packed, and visual feasts. I'm sure other people have taken the time to rewatch the trilogy in the past six years, and appreciate (or hate) them more than they originally did, but I wish I didn't take so long, as now they're pretty much my second favorite film trilogy, after the Back to the Future trilogy.
