Survivor 20: Heroes vs. Villains - February 11, 2010 - Official Discussion Thread

I felt kinda bad for Coach. That cooz Sandra needs to get gone.

Stupid move. Russell gets rid of semi-trusted Coach because he wants to maintain that "girls alliance" smoke & mirrors, leaving a pissed-off Jeri probably more than willing to sway the easily swayed Danielle and Parvati and actually start a girls alliance. That probably won't happen though. Parvati wouldn't stick with it because she knows all the girls hate her.

I don't know how stupid of a move that was. Russell voted for Courtney (which garners Coach's jury vote), he kept that "all girls alliance" thing alive (which is apparently going to lead JT to giving Russell the hidden immunity idol) and he now has Courtney and Sandra in his corner because he'll say he only did that because he didn't want to turn on Coach but he's loyal to them two. The only bad thing about it is the Villians lost a strong player, but with a merge coming any day now, it won't matter much. Plus, I can see Coach flipping to JT/Rupert/Amanda no problem.

Pretty good episode. I was expecting a merge. Maybe next week. JT's move has to be the stupidest in Survivor history. If he would have seen Russel's season, he never would have done it.

I still think that guy with the shaggy hair that gave his idol to that creepy looking girl and got voted out by her was the stupidest move ever.

This is why Russell has an advantage over everyone else in this game. No one knows what to expect. I'm sure they know he got to the end but they don't know how he played.

I don't get why nobody watched Russels season... It seems like that would be an important part of being a survivor player.

That's what I was thinking, but the winner ceremony is live and this had to be shot after because Russel mentions (and others) that he did not win the million. So it had to be filmed after last seasons winner announcement (which then means all the episodes were available). Even if it was filmed RIGHT after, they still had time to watch the episodes.

It was shot only a few weeks after season 19 finished filming. It's in the same location since they were already all set up there. So Russell got less than a month off and no one could watch his season.

Wow. That is weird, so Russel didnt even know if he was going to win one season while starting a whole other season. That must have been weird... You can tell they edit it in a way so it seems like this took place after the airing of the last season. Wow, so nobody has a clue.

I think it might be the smartest move in history. As it looks like Russel is going to lie about having the idle. I think that if they merge next week they could try to pull a surprise on him next week.

I'm 99% positive that JT will be one of the first to go after the merge and Russell will be laughing about it the entire time. Russell is very quick to remove any perceived threats - JT is probably the best person left as far as winning challenges (and individual immunity). I'm sure Russell will try and vote him out at the first opportunity.

I do think it was a mistake to not get rid of Sandra though - she is a trouble maker and can only be trusted when you need her vote with her whole "as long as it's not me" strategy.

Spoilers from the Surviv-O-Meter that lists the entire outcome of the season:

I'm going to be so fucking pissed if that's correct, which it probably is, and Sandra and Parvati get to the final 3. I hate both of them so much.
Parvati is awesome.
Agreed. She is going to win this season - she is a GREAT player. I cannot believe she gave BOTH idols away and didn't keep one for herself.

Amanda has to be an absolute idiot. She just went right away to parvati and told her the heroes voting order, and i mean, wtf is wrong with her. Sure Jt deserves to be voted out just for giving the villians an idol, but i mean good lord Amanda.

Next weeks should be pretty good, russell will be going after his own tribe for not tell him they had a second idol and that will be fun to watch and see how things are stacked. Might see some switchs of alliances.

Russell Hantz, a contestant on Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains and a runner-up of Survivor: Samoa, was arrested on battery charges early Friday morning in Louisiana.

Hantz was arrested near a nightclub in Lafayette, La., after allegedly pushing a female victim, Lafayette Police Department spokesman Paul Mouton told TVGuide.com. He was arrested on charges of simple battery.
The 37-year-old is one of the "villains" still in contention to win the current season of Survivor now airing on CBS

Well he is a villain.

Russell's biggest problem in the game is that he takes things too personally. The preview made it look like he was furious at Parvati when aside from her making sure that the villains were safe, she didn't really do anything too bad. She certainly didn't do anything that was directly threatening to Russell. He needs to chill out for a couple episodes and mend fences with Sandra so they can continue to pick off heroes.

Finally watched the last 2 episodes. JT is so stupid, and I love it. Rupert is the only one that saw the truth, too bad nobody listens to that oaf. It was a good move on Parvati's part to give Sandra an idol because I think that locks her into an alliance with the villain girls. Things are looking a little grim for Russell on this next episode, I hope they don't all turn on him. What would be even better is if he flipped to the Heroes alliance, but I doubt anyone would trust him over there. We'll see...

Well, that was sad to see Amanda go tonight. I was hoping it would be a tie or Pavarti would go, but nope.

If Russell would be playing old school Survivor w/o immunity idols, he'd never make it to the end.

The game would be played entirely differently, though. You can't just take out such a huge part of the game and then judge performance as it is.

I'm glad Amanda is gone. Sorry, but she played this game 10x dumber than JT. One week she tells her nemesis that she's being targeted, this week she goes and tries to steal Danielle's clue like a fucking baby rather than let Danielle have the stupid thing and pretend to target her so she wastes it and opens a shot at Russell or Parvati.

The Heroes are pretty much on death row because of her. Oh, that and being fucking ass-ignorant retarded by voting out Stephanie.

Anyone catch this last night?

Omg fucking ass dumb whore Candice... I hate this show. Why in the world would she ally herself with Russel? "But but but he will take me to the final 3!" No he wont you idiot... gahhh. Now it's going to be next: Colby > Rupert > Candice > Sandra(?). With slight changes depending on who gets the immunity idol.

Candice was in a solid 4 with Rupert, Amanda and Colby. What the hell is she doing? SHES SO DUMB!! Almost as dumb as JT.

Candice made a classic Survivor mistake. Rather than thinking strategically, she thought personally. Her whole reason for getting rid of Amanda seemed boil down to, "She's been gunning for me since day one!" Sure, that may be true, but it doesn't mean you throw your lot in with the enemy unless that benefits you significantly. As it is, she went from being the (maybe) bottom of one alliance to the bottom of another.

If she wanted to increase her stock in the game, she should've made a move to shatter both alliances. She likely could've done that by getting rid of Russel's immunity idol and getting Parvati voted out, something she very well could've accomplished. Since the Hero alliance is only held together out of necessity and the Villain alliance is held together largely by Parvati, she really could've shook things up.

She's just a pair of giant boobs - I honestly don't see anything else when she is on screen.

Jerri is missing out on a golden opportunity. She could have pulled Sandra and teamed up with Rupert & Colby. But the preview for next week shows Russell gets to the guys first. Jerri pissed away any shot at a million. With Jerri not playing at all, Sandra (with the lack of a Jerri/Sandra/Rupert/Colby alliance) will undoubtedly figure with Danielle gone and Rupert marked as untrustworthy, she can work on Parvati. Parvati and Sandra are probably going to be in the end. With Par winning it all again.

I'm not surprised to see Candice gone. For a doctor, she's pretty stupid jumping ship like that.

Sad to see Danielle's skimpy outfit and big boobs gone, but she became such a crybaby. Big surprise to see her go, she was tight in her 3some alliance.

I bet Parvarti will win this again. Russell just doesn't play a good enough social game to win. He's good at finding immunity idols and strategizing, but his social game is non-existant. He's too much of a bull in a china shop.

And what's with Sandra not looking for that immunity idol?

Russell teaming with Rupert and Colby is a hella bad idea. Do you think anyone on the jury is going to vote for Russell? Hell no. This is going to be just like last season. If Russell is in the finals, he'll get no votes because the jury will all hate him. That's the problem with Survivor now, nobody votes for who played the game the best, they all act petty and vote for the person that didn't piss them off. Russell is kind of fucking up his game more and more every week but I still hope he makes it to the end. Even if he doesn't make it to the end, his jury comments in the finale will be probably be awesome. You have to give him credit though, he always goes after the big dogs and the strong alliances and breaks them up. I'm not sure if anyone else in Survivor could have done all that he's accomplished.

Yeah, I see a repeat of last season. Russell in the finals, tells the jury he deserves it because he is "the best," jury says "Yeah, but you're an asshole". and gives it to other person, Russell pisses/moans/pouts at the reunion show.

Omg, I was JUST about to stop watching after this episode if Colby or Rupert were voted off. THANK YOU for not ruining the show. And seriously I've watched about 95% of this Series and Candace has to be my most hated person. I don't like Russel, but he is damn good at playing. He will never win, but he's good. But Candace is SO ridiculous... all the sudden she teamed up with Fake Locke and wanted to kill everyone like she got possessed or something...

Crazy bitch. And Sandra is a dumbass to, why the hell did she vote for Rupert? Gahh...

I'm really surprised by this, I fully expected Sandra to go home with her hidden immunity idol. I don't think Russell has a chance in hell in winning. He got fucked last season and he'll get fucked this season. Parvati is going to win I believe.

They could have got rid of Russell so easy tonight. Sandra just needed to tell Jerri, Rupert and Colby she had the idol and was using it, Jerri flips votes and stays quiet thinking if they can't go after Sandra they'll cut her loose. Then they all just gang up on Russell.

No surprise Rupert went home. I think Pavarti is going to win this, although Sandra might have a chance too. No way in hell is russell going to win. I'm just looking forward to this ending. I'm kind of getting sick of it. Too bad they had to spoil it on the cbs forums.

So not only do they shaft the best player, they also shaft the other person who played the game and vote for some useless sack of flesh.
So not only do they shaft the best player, they also shaft the other person who played the game and vote for some useless sack of flesh.
It always ends up with them voting for who pissed them off the least, not who actually played the game. People cannot be objective.

^ I agree. Russell pissed off everyone in both of his seasons, BUT I think he played to the spirit of the game. He was agressive, always thinking, and had the ability to have everyone do what he wanted except the jury. Don't care what anyone says; Russell is champ 2x. The only thing that bothers me though is his attitude during the reunion shows. Both times he acts like a complete idiot. During the game - that's fine. But after the dust has settled have a little self respect my man and be gracious in defeat. You're wealthy, have a good lookin' wife; things could be worse.
