I went to my local stores the other day, and ended up with the following;

King's Quest 2 - Original Cd/Case - $1.99
MECC Oregon Trail CD- $0.99
NFL Blitz PSX -$1.99
Nintendo 64, all the hookups, no controlers -$3.50

not too bad. the place looked cleaned out.

i'm not sure if the one you bought is exactly the same, but we used to carry game drawers almost identical to those at TRU, from ALS Industries, i think. honestly, we couldn't move them to save our lives. eventually we clearanced them out at $1.97 (seriously) and they finally sold -- a local dealer bought most all of them.

Oh well, its still kind of cool to put my games in.

Savers had this today...made me kinda laugh. The guy who prices their electronics has no idea. I've been going to this Savers for years, but only for books and clothes. They never have any cheap Games/Systems at my store.

I picked up a Datel silver Xbox controller today from my local SA for $3. It looks like it's in ok shape, minus all of the greasy fingerprints on it. If anything, I'll give it to my one buddies' nephew for his Xbox, since mine is collecting dust in my closet.

Got a PSX system, the old bulky one.... one dual-shock, one 3rd party controller, and a memory card. $12.99

Original Gameboy, the blocky grey one.. $4.99 still had working batteries!

Two Complete NES Games, Battle Chess - $2.99 and R.B.I Baseball $2.99

Then I hit the pawnshop picked up Ducktales for nes -$5.00 lil pricey and Chrono Cross for PSX for $5.00

My local Salvation Army wanted $35 for a dingy original PlayStation system. But I got away with some books, an Ender book, Bone: Rock Jaw (in color!), and a Dilbert book. All for $2.

The Goodwill next door had a SimCity4 for $10, and I passed on that.

These guys are like Gamestop when pricing game related stuff.

Not much except 30 cent Dilbert book here. I saw a PS for 6 but with no hookups of any sort, and "untested" Condition was so-so, but I decided to pass.

My best deals have been at goodwill

Xbox 360 Guitar hero 3 Aerosmith- 20 bucks. Sealed
Some pc flight controller for 6 bucks but sold on ebay for 120. It some rare feedback one.
Various new releases for systems for about 20 a piece.
Ico Ps2 Comple- 5 bucks
Tony romo FATHEADS. 10 bucks

Some other cool stuff cheao

Picked up a sealed DVD box set of Sailor Moon Season 1 (uncut) [Out of print]
last month for 2 dollars at goodwill.

Amazon last time i checked try's to sell it mint for 150$ Plus,
One on ebay right now for 90.00 opened as well.

Sad tale today... or happy - depending on your outlook:

I found SNATCHER for SEGA CD at Goodwill in Houston, today. Case and manual in great condition.

No disc, though. Talk about a high turning into a low.

I asked if they might know what happened, but they said what I already knew - it had been stolen. What frustrates me is that someone would steal a disc to avoid paying $2.99 for a complete copy of Snatcher. I asked if I could keep the case and they said sure.

So free Snatcher case and manual (glass half full)!

^wow that sux, just looked it up on digitpress since i dont know much about sega cd games. They gave it a 5 rarity and worth 125 complete, i understand your frustration cuz the same thing happened to me with some TG16 and GBC games, just empty boxes.

That is a very good deal. I've been looking for original SM dvds for a while to add to my collection, gives me hope that they can be found at a thift store. (And hey, anyone who is into anime has had to seen Sailor Moon at least once)

not that great, but picked up the Rhino animated Tranformers movie DVD for $4 at Goodwill. Never got around to picking up the 20th anniversary release of it

I am constantly picking up empty boxes and jewel cases at one of my local thrifts. I keep telling them to put the stuff behind the counter to keep it from getting stolen. The response I get is "we don't have any room." Sweet, just let the stuff get stolen. :bomb: That Snatcher is a major let down.

This is my thrift find of the year.

A metal PS2 DDR pad for $4.75 at Value Village.

It's good quality, and works perfectly. The plexiglass is cracked on 3 out of 4 of the arrows though, but I'll just replace it easily this weekend.

Nice finds on Monday, I picked up Illusion of Gaia, Secret of Mana, and SimEarth for SNES, and F-Zero X, Mario Kart 64, Extreme-G 2, and Turok: Rage Wars for N64 for $2 each. My Goodwill has always priced any sort of game at $5, so the pricing this week was a nice bonus.

I found the box for Quest For Glory Collection PC at a goodwill. Only thing left in it was the manual and the demo and soundtrack for 5. I was mad.

This past week at Goodwill I found

:pc: Spore @ $4.99
:pc: Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne @ $2.99
(DC) Project Justice @ 2.99

I was super excited about Spore and the fact that I had no issues with the DRM leads me to believe that someone couldn't meet the system requirements.

I also saw a bunch of the Super Mario Galaxy commemorative coins, but they were $5.99, which I think was priced a bit high.

Lol same here^

A year ago i saw one at 50( a ps3 wireless gh3 bundle) today i see one for 110. I told them thats more than they cost at the store. They insisted they sell for 200

I stopped by two out of the way SA stores yesterday and I was shocked to find a decent amount of Playstation games sitting in their cd rack, most of them were complete(or so I thought).

They had each game sealed with a strip of clear packing tape, which I promptly ripped open to inspect the discs and see if the right game was in the case.

Wouldn't you know it, the ONE fuckin' game I wanted out of both stores that had some had the wrong game in the case. Crash Team Racing in Spyro 2's case. It's looking more and more like I'm going to have to buy a digital copy of those games off of PSN, since I can't find ANY of them offline that aren't overpriced or messed up.

Plus, more than half of the games were missing, even though the cases/manuals/case art were still there.

Went to SA today and saw a Dreamcast with two controllers. It was pretty dirty, and yet they wanted $30 for it.
There was a 50% sale on books and clothes, and I got away with Return of the King, and Children of the Mind for $1.07.

The Goodwill had a Crash game, but was scratched.
At Value Village I found these for $1 each:

Cool Spot CB
Donkey Kong Country Exposed VHS

The DKC exposed VHS tape looks like some kind of promo, because its in one of the boxes that's a full cardboard box, instead of a normal VHS one with an opening at the bottom, and has nintendo's address as a return address and bulk rate postage on it.

Its from November 21 according to the box.

Only info I could find is here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=180252230208&Category=139973&_trksid=p3907.m29

Anyone know anything about this?
Just found one of these, except it's a Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask copy. Was walking out of the thrift store and noticed Majora's Mask sitting in the VHS section.

Also got an unopened copy of Warhammer Online for ten dollars.

I actually collect those promo movies, I have both the DKC and LoZ ones mentioned. They're virtually worthless in price, but a ton of quirky fun to watch and seem to show up in the strangest places.

I didn't even know my town had a Salvation Army, but I was driving by, saw it and checked it out. Picked up Resident Evil: Code Veronica (Dreamcast) for $1.50 and Paranoia Agent Volume 3 (includes my favorite PA episode, "Happy Family Planning") for $2.50.

I had my first decent Goodwill find in about a year yesterday, five SNES games for $1.99 each:

Secret of Mana
UN Squadron
D-Force
Top Gear
Phalanx

Both Goodwill and Salvation Army have websites and I believe SA even has a store locator link on theirs. I was shocked to find out there were a few stores in places that I'd been going for work for a while. I have probably passed them by 3-10 times while up that way, without ever realizing they were there.

The one actually netted me a plethora of DVD TV boxsets for $6 each.
I saw a Starfox64 promo video at a thrift store in the past week or so, hadn't seen one of those before (or atleast in a long time)
BUY IT. Easily the most hilarious of the N64 promo videos.

I found a N64 for $30, for $5 were a controller, a Star Fox 64, and a Super Mario 64. I could only afford the Mario game. :( And what made me sadder was that I realized my 64 was thrown away during the move. Heh, GW gives student discounts?

It depends on your GW/SA/thrift store. Some give senior discounts, while in more student oriented towns, they might in fact give discounts to students. Actually, I remember going to some cities even without a large student population and there was still a student discount at that store, so YMMV

I found Command & Conquer and Nuclear Strike, both for the Playstation. The Nuclear Strike will replace the disc only copy I have.

Got some great deals at GW today:
FC Super Loader (Complete in box minus AC adapter) - $1
TMNT (NES) - $2
The Legend of Kage (NES) - $2
Kirby's Adventure (NES) - $2
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (NES) - $2
And the best deal...
Mega Man 6 (NES) - $2
