Boyfriend convinced me to grab that Sword of Vermillion for $5, namely because it was complete... well, semi complete, it doesn't have the 103 page guide. I guess it was the "5 MEGA MEMORY" included that sold me on the game, or the fact that Sega promised me 300 + hours and they do what Nintendon't.
As I feared, the pawn shop did raise prices.. I just got Zelda Phantom Hourglass from there for $8 last week... this week, they have some more DS games (including Animal Crossing) and I was hoping they were still $8.. but now the new price for DS games is $15, and older Gameboy / GBC / GBA games are $8 a piece. What sucks is that some guy bought two of their DS games for $15 a piece.. which both run about $10 at Gamestop used.
So Jungle Book on the Gameboy, is priced the same as all of their Xbox games... makes perfect sense.
Granted, $5 for retro games isn't so bad depending on the game, but I just imagine that those 9 common NES games I got a few weeks for $18 (at $2 a piece) would suddenly run me $45 under the new pricing. It upsets me because this place was pretty awesome to find some of the more common games for old systems at awesome prices without getting gouged on Ebay shipping. I know me buying SoV only re-enforces the higher price, but it isn't often I come across any retro game with box and manual. I got a feeling the shop is going to be sitting on many games in the future.
Has anyone else encountered anything like this, a sudden increase in prices across the board, seemingly randomly?
