When you say it doesn't have the Blu logo, does that mean you suspect the price is DVD only or that the BD comes in a DVD case? I'll definitely pick up Transformers for $10 if it's the BD.

DVD only. But I like to think back to the "Walking Dead" advertisement.

can some1 post a link to the the pirates of the caribbeanthread? Thanks! i want the action figure + Free movie ticket for buying, any1 know if its a child admission or all?

best buy is charging $25 for each Alien movie?? are they out of their minds...?

I wouldn't mind getting the anthology for a decent price, it looks like a very well made set... and with the singles coming out now, hopefully the anthology will go down in price

anyway, thanks op!

For info about the movie ticket go here. The movie ticket is good for $8.50 worth of admission. If an adult admission is more then you can pay the difference.[/QUOTE]

Movie prices keep rising, but the price of the movie cash in the DVD's/Blu's always stays the same. Can't get into a movie in Chicago for under 8.50 unless I go before noon. Even then, no 3D. In the 'burbs is the only place I can go to use these things without paying the difference. Even still, 18.50 for 2 drinks and popcorn. Glad I ate before Thor earlier this afternoon.

indeed. :)

will have to look at this ad myself and see if it looks doable. Should only try to get 1 movie though, may raise some flags trying to get multiple movies.

There are actually a lot more movies eligible for the $5 off with trade-in than those that were shown on the ad. There's a complete list here:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Movies+Promotions/null/pcmcat240800050006.c?id=pcmcat240800050006&h=387

Some of them are good deals, and some of them aren't; you just need to be selective. Details of the offer are here:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Movies+...00050005.c?id=pcmcat240800050005&DCMP=rdr5098

I went in today and traded in three DVDs that I have already upgraded to blu-ray versions, and got Taxi Driver for $9.99 and 12 Monkeys and Napoleon Dynamite for $4.99 each after the discount.

One note if you do this -- make sure that the store has the blu-rays that you want before you do the trade-in. If you trade in DVDs and then don't find any blu-rays that you want, you can't get your DVDs back.

You can trade in any DVD -- doesn't matter what, as long as you've got the disc, the case, and the cover art intact (don't know how picky they're being about condition, the ones that I traded in were in good shape) -- for any blu on the list. The customer service person that I got didn't know how to ring up the trade-in, and the manager that was showing her what to do told her they'd take "anything but porn".

Note that you can only get the $5 coupon toward the blu-rays with the trade-in, not cash. So if you traded in 35 DVDs, there would have to be 35 blu-rays on the list that you want (and you'd have to be willing to buy all of them now). Also, they'll only take up to five DVDs at a time, but apparently there's nothing stopping you from making multiple trips.

I traded in the three Austin Powers movies, since I had gotten the blu-ray box in that B&N deal last November. Funny thing is, I think I had gotten the second movie free and paid $2.50 each for the first and third, so I actually ended up "profiting" off of the deal. Definitely beats Amazon's trade-in offer of 25 cents each, which isn't even worth the effort.

hmmm wonder if cases matter........I have a bunch of blockbuster dvd cases Im trying to get rid of. I dont mind switching these out though if I have to. This deal sounds pretty sweet for titles that are normally $9.99. Just like the WB DVD2Blu deal, without the hassle of shipping.

Can someone get like a price list for all those titles? I guess I may do it unless someone beats me to it. Curious how many $9.99 titles are on that list.

When I did it, anyway, they didn't really look at them that closely. They just looked at the discs to make sure that they were the same titles as the cover art. So I would think that as long as you've got the cover art, the blockbuster DVD cases wouldn't be an issue.

This trade In deal is AWESOME!

Ended up trading in 5 DVD Video titles and getting these on Blu-ray Disc:
$15 Justified: The Complete First Season (If you're reading this and haven't seen this show, WTF is wrong with you? It's one of the best shows on cable, you NEED to get this for $15, seriously)
$5 Inside Man (FINALLY got to replace my HD-DVD copy)
$5 Donnie Darko (Been meaning to own this movie for a LONG time, finally got around to buying it, both the Theatrical and the Director's cuts are in this Blu-ray Disc set, Hellz Yeah!)
$5 Napoleon Dynamite
$5 Men In Black

Total: $38.xx

To anyone who has picked up some of the Alien movies, does it include both the Theatrical and Extended versions (specifically for Alien and Aliens) or only the Theatrical? I can't find any info on this on Best Buy or Amazon, whereas the Quad in Blu-Ray states in includes both versions. Thanks.

@Target

Just so you guys know if you purchased any or all of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" blu-ray combo packs and got the figurines with them free. You can return the figurines for a price of $5.60 each. Making the blu-ray combo packs just under $9 each.

Oh wow, that's awesome. I should've waited.

Yeah I frequently read my receipts and I noticed that in this case they bundled the blu-ray and figurine together, then subtracted $8 from them. The $5.60 is how the $8 was split. All in all with the free movie tickets, I pretty much got the set for around $1 a blu.
