Target Clearance Thread XXII

Found an As-is (online return) copy of Hell Night CE Blu-Ray for $10.61 the other day. Didn't get it since I already had it but not a bad price for something that came out a few weeks ago.
Shit. I totally would have been on that. I love Scream Factory releases but they are always so expensive. Hell Night is like $23 at Best Buy and on Amazon right now and I'm not pulling the trigger at that price.

As for printed mistakes, I used to work in printing myself and I can say with certainty at least where I live (could vary from state to state I guess) nobody has to honor any honest mistake.  Think about that, in most cases you're placing the blame on one small line of communication that got broken along the way.  Could be some newbie kid who typed it wrong, could be he was given the wrong price because somebody misheard their supervisor, could be a proof reader was distracted that day, could be something went wrong with the press and needed a reprint and an older file was accidentally sent etc etc etc.  You expect a company to take huge losses because of something that simple?  So for me personally I always cringe when people try to hold stores accountable for pricing mistakes.  Sure it's always worth asking if they'll honor it, but do so politely and if they accept consider yourself lucky...if they decline that's their right.

As for getting correct clearance prices or online prices or whatever...  I've had terrible luck at my store.  On a consistent basis their own app updates clearance before the store does and I've repeatedly been told there's nothing they can do unless an employee physically updates the price on an item.  I've talked to "managers", tried to ambush (politely) floor employees with scanners, etc etc...nada.  They really need to change their policy to "what the app brings up, we will price match" because it's supposed to use the price from the store you're currently in anyway.

Deepdiscount.com usually puts a lot of the Scream Factory CE releases on sale around release week for $17.99. There are also 15% off sales they occasionally run on top of the sale prices so I've been getting a lot of my Scream Factory releases from them. Hell Night I actually got from Bull Moose though it was a little pricey ($19.97).

Huge on luck! I found 1 lone copy of Shadow of War Gold Edition, rang up $54.25! I noticed my Target actually brought out some random games I haven't seen (even found a South Park Gold)

Found Rise of the Tomb Raider - 20 Year Celebration Edition for PS4 in clearance section. Brickseek listed it in that location as 11.98 . Picked it up, took it to their register, they scanned it then told me they had to pricematch it to a price of 49.99 online because it was no longer found in their store system..................... No deal.
Also had an issue with that game as well. Their scanned price (and even mine) was higher than Brickseek's. Came back the next day and it was lower on my scan, though I think theirs was still higher. It took some finagling, but they finally agreed to go with my scan.

Never saw rise of the tomb raider reach $12 in my stores, my black friday $15 order was mysteriously lost in the mail (tracking never made it out of their warehouse), and the reshipment is still on backorder, but alas it has not been in stock online or my area for weeks now, so not hopeful there.  So I lucked out that bestbuy has sporadically been getting more stock lately and had it on sale for $16 GCU last week when I bit.  Close enough.

Redbox $9.99. Gotta use the app to buy. If you purchase at kiosk it’s $14.99.

My Target was a gold mine as well. Nabbed 2x Shadow of War Gold Edition (XB) for $29/each, and 2x South Park Gold (1 XB and 1 PS4) for $29 each. I'm not exactly sure why these items were in the 50% clearance bin, since nobody else seems to have reported it. Either way, I left a happy camper.

That sounds like a pricing mistake, SoW is definitely still $60 in store, not counting price matching.

I would be pretty stoked to find a Shadow of War at that price, but in all honesty I've waited on the complete edition for every other Warner game I've bought, because they seem to do it every time. I also heard this new game pushed microtransactions pretty hard.

You can easily play the game without spending a single extra dollar on microtransactions but it is absolutely guilty of turning the last act of the game into a grind fest that goes quicker if you do. That said, they frequently do daily and weekly quest that give "gold" as a reward and you can buy all the orcs you need to fill in your army using just the currency you're given in abundance while playing the game.

The game's biggest flaw is that what should have been a fun round of simply defending all your captured regions once turns into a grind as you defend them over and over again, every time requiring you spend the time to level up your orcs so they don't just get slaughtered (it's more work to totally replace them). One stupid move on your part (resulting in death) also means losing up to like 6 or 7 orcs in your army (it just pushes your warchiefs back out into the captains area and will randomly kick out the captains they replace - gone forever) and having to then re-take the region

Do you have the DPCI numbers for Xbox One versions? Tried looking through the thread and saw nothing, and the gold editions are no longer on Target's website. Thanks!

My local target still throws clearance games on an endcap with non clearance games and doesn't really mark them clearly.. very frustrating to have to sit and walk a bunch of stuff over to the aisle scanner and then back again.

Saw AC Syndicate for $10 (ps4) yesterday.
Brickseek showed it as being $8.24 at several Targets near me. All though showed supply as "Limited" and Quantity: 0. I've never found a game in-store when BS shows "quantity: 0" but I was encouraged by it saying "limited", not "out of stock". So, I went to one Target a couple miles from me and, sure enough, found a copy of Syndicate on a clearance display. They scanned it and it was the $16 price and I pressed them to look on their website and yup, it was $8.24. I had to go to Customer Service so they could price-match their own website and the woman up front was having issues doing it, so they called the woman who helped me over and then they finally let me have it for $8.24. About a 20-minute process to get Syndicate...hope it's worth it. :)

Anyway, that should give hope to those who find "quantity: 0" on BS. Does not necessarily mean there are no copies.

Hmmm...Is there a reason why there's a sudden interest in AC Syndicate? Ppl here and the TrU thread keep bringing it up o_O I'm kinda surprised there's so many that don't own it yet coz it was part of the $8 Black Friday 2016 sale at Target and Walmart...$8 sale was on on all 3 versions at both stores, Gold/Limited/Standard.

Have not played my copy yet lol only opened it to redeem the Gold voucher inside, wish it was all on disc instead.

Iirc it didn't go oos online, but u could only order the standard online... had to go in store for Limited/Gold, I got my $7.60w/RC Gold edition Saturday night right before Target closed xD had to visit 3 Targets tho, there were lots of Limited editions still left by then at Target.

People must've missed the $8 price, plus I don't think it hit below $20 since

Was pleasantly surprised to find the SoW steelbook at my local store today. Associate in electronics was super helpful and price matched their site for $34.99 on the spot. Also saw an ACO steelbook as well but still holding out for a merge and price drop on that one.

Could anybody tell me at what price your Targets are ringing up Assassin's Creed Chronicles for ps4 on Brickseek? DPCI: 207-34-0153 A target near me had at least 1 copy, but I never scanned it and now that I tried looking it up on brickseek just shows "no results found in your area".

Also pops up "No Results"

Also getting no results for that one on BS. Tonight I noticed the SP and MVCI steelbook I got have pretty significant damage on the back due to being smashed in the display case. I hate to bring them back over that but it's really pretty inexcusable that your displays destroy your own products. Whoever thought up that design should be punished!

The last several months, it had been $16 everywhere I've looked, until last week. I noticed Target and WM have had tons of stock for this game for quite awhile and given this is an older title, I was surprised it took this long to knock back down again. I must have missed the reduction in '16.

Did anyone manage to grab the AC Syndicate Limited Edition? I'm curious if the vouchers have the same long expired date on them. Saw a copy at a different target, but was showing up as $15.

Note pictures from what I remember where the switch racing wheels, the Deluxe carrying bag for $20, Professor Layton $20,  $20 and other crap.

I'll have to check out the Target by the movie theater when I go this weekend to see if Ittle Dew 2 is at that one. I've wanted that game ever since it caught my eye at the local Best Buy lol

Sweet price on the End is Nigh.

FYI, Walmart seems to carry Unbox (Switch) with a regular price of $30 in case you are interested in it and want to risk waiting for another price drop to $19.98 at Target.

The Evesham, NJ store is remodeling, and put a random bunch of stuff on clearance. Biggest deal by far was the white/orange New 2DS for 50% off - 207-01-7002.

Also saw Disgaea 5 Complete and a few other Switch games on clearance, but that also seems to be local to this store (for now).

I would love to get The End is Nigh for that price. My local Target is very hit or miss when it comes to clearance stuff, but I live dangerously close to Target (kinda like Shipwreck!). Seeing all this Switch stuff on clearance has inspired me to stop by my Target on my way home from work today. Hope to leave with some sweet deals.

Dayum that's alot of Switch clearance. I'll be hitting a couple Targets on the way home to check for that. With as popular as the Switch is, it may get jumped on in most areas before the price can be further reduced.
