Target Clearance Thread XXIII

My local targets has 1 elite at full price for 3+ weeks now. Inventory says it's not there so clearance doesn't seem to trigger even when I told them at customer service. I've never tried a return/rebuy at another store. How does it work? What if the OOS store doesn't price change for the clearance price if it's not in their system anymore? Have you tried it?
 
It be a waste to buy it on PS4. You need PSN plus to play online and it's free this month. I support physical over digital but I also support not being stupid with money.

I have not tried it myself, but have heard it may or may not be allowed, not sure of the general policy. I think generally, they may just take the item for return and not let you buy it right away, they may have to place it back on the floor first. If it's not longer in their system, then they may be able to do the return, but then you may not be able to purchase it, or it only be purchasable at the MSRP price or whatever clearance stick might say.

Mine has the Elite and the Volcano ones, both been full price forever :(

Isn't there also an updated version that just came out last month - the Ultimate Slasher Edition? That's probably why they are trying to clear out the older version.

There is a lawsuit related to the game licensing which has blocked any updates and DLC to be added to the game. It sounds like the writer of Friday the 13th won.

The Slasher Edition comes with all available DLC and some extras. It sounds like there is a single-player experience for the game, but don't expect any updates beyond what is already there.

Haier 10,000 BTU AC was 50% off in a random store during travels. Was $270 down to $135.

The only store that had an elite for $150 still scans at $150. Any store that had them marked down shows unrecognized.

Yeah. First, they added an offline mode with bots (I haven't played in a while, but I think you can only play as Jason with bots, not the camp counselors, because they couldn't get the AI for Jason right). Also, about a year after launch, they finally added the long-promised "campaign" mode, which was inspired by Hitman and is basically just 10 scripted scenarios where you play as Jason and have to fulfill certain requirements to get enough points to finish the level (like killing people in certain ways, killing everyone, etc).

 
Stupid question but what does it mean when it shows an item in stock on brickseek yet the price is NA? Never had that happen before.
 
Was lucky enough to have a very helpful employee today. He scanned the tag and told me good news that these were on clearance. Then he offered to go in the back and get me a pair. Not bad for $43.

The dream is still alive my fellow CAG.

Bought a XB1 Elite controller at the very last Target for miles & miles in my entire area that had any left in stock. But they were still full price at $150. They actually had 2 of em’.

Today I knew I’d be going to another Target to look for a Hoover vacuum on clearance marked down to only $54 (all the way from $180 normally).

I was able to find the Hoover vacuum for $54 (last one) & I also successfully got the return/rebuy done on the XB1 Elite controller. I also found two PS4 games on clearance. Agents of Mayhem for $6 and Nioh for $10.

I was tempted to buy both of the XB1 Elite controllers I saw at Target yesterday but since I wasn’t sure if the return/rebuy would work, since it was such a big price difference, I only bought the one.

Yesterday a couple hours after I made my purchase I checked Brickseek Target to track the inventory of the XB1 Elite controller & what do ya’ know, it showed as Out Of Stock now at that Target I saw 2 of em’ at.

So either a customer bought it for $150 or the Target system isn’t aware there’s actually one controller still left & it’s still in the store. May even be the employee there realized they could get it for $45 when they were ringing me out & decided to buy it for themselves. Prob what happened. Tempted to go back & check.

Also worth mentioning I initially & intentionally paid for the XB1 Elite controller with a MasterCard knowing when I went in for the return/rebuy my reason for the return would be that I’d like to return the items to my MasterCard & then use my Target Red Card to pay instead. Worked like a charm.

While the cashier was ringing me out I mentioned how I’d be getting the lower clearance price of $45 since that was the last price that particular Target location sold that particular item for.

From my experience, when an item is coming up as unrecognized in the Target system the employees have an option to look up the price of what the item was last sold for at that store. You may want to go to guest services up front to try this since your average Target employee working the floor may not be aware of how to do that particular type of price check. Buy it for $150, go to another store that sold em’ at $45 and attempt the return/rebuy up front at guest services. Worse case scenario they aren’t having it on the lower price rebuy so you’d just return the product for a full refund. Good luck.

Will this work if you order one from target.com or does it need to be from another b&m store?
 
Extremely pissed at my local target. They had a bunch of clearance for coffee makers, vacuums and headphones and they just hit 50% off a day ago. I went to pick up something unrelated and find out that they salvaged everything right after it hit 50% and now they have nothing. I've never seen a store do it that early but it's pretty annoying.
 
Idk maybe holiday shipments could be inbound and your store's associates are like "screw this junk, we need space now"

Not that it makes that much sense to me, since it's still kinda early for that. And getting just 50% of the tag still seems better than 0%. But I remember shelves getting very bare around this time last year too.

The thing is, most of the time 50% is the actual price. I can’t tell you how often ‘clearance’ prices at target are what the item cost is on amazon everyday.
