Target Clearance Thread XXIV

All Easter stuff was 90% off at my store. My mom got $120 worth of candy for $16-ish dollars, and I got $40 worth of toys for $3.

Stopped by at Marshalls next to Target and I was surprised they sell video games and accessories there lol.

Dragon Age Inquisition GOTY $8

Xbox 360 / PS4 / PC Gaming Headset $20

PC Gaming Keyboard, Mouse $13

Those headsets are garbage, and most are broken inside of the box. You're better off spending an extra ten or fifteen bucks and getting some Turtle Beach ones from Target. Target also has a better return policy than TJ MAXX/Marshalls.

You’re safe with Bull Moose, I’ve ordered a good number of records from them over the years.
I've only ordered a couple games and movies from Bullmoose, but they were great. Really wish we had some brick and mortar stores of theirs here (central IL); I have a feeling they'd be my go-to for media purchases.

Nothing so far at clearance section. All Easter candies 90% off.

TJ Maxx, etc. return policy is actually fairly lenient although I think they have started to crack down. I bought a turntable they during holidays of 2017 and it had issues playing records after only a few uses. I still had the receipt and was able to return it no problem. Although it's funny that they just put it back on the floor with a clearance sticker. Sucks for the next person that may have bought it since it had issues.

There are a few good finds at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, etc. but mostly during the holidays and directly after as they mark everything down.

I don't have any issues with TJMAXX, they even had a deal last year for Xbox One X for $369.99. I'm mostly just trying to warn people about the quality of those headsets. And, if you get a broke one, they will only let you exchange it for another one that is most likely broken. They won't let you get your cash back.

Yeah, that is likely the case, most of the headsets and headphones they carry are garbage.

Saw the PUBG Xbox One controller last night for $49.98 (Was $69.99)... BS shows other locations not-near-me have it at $35

Man, Target really cleared out the Easter stock quick this year. I went there a couple days ago and items were 50% off and today I went and everything was gone.

Yeah once it gets to final markdown, it only stays in the system for around 2 days. Easter went to 90% off near me on Saturday and now all the items went to salvage and anything not pulled from the shelves scans as "item not found" today.

I remember that time a few years ago when they put 3DS, Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360 games in a basket in the Dollar section at the front of the store, and they ranged from $2 to $5. Most of it was shovelware though, but a few decent games slipped in.

Went yesterday to Target in Watertown, MA and only $1.07 for a 6-pack of Reese's eggs (and Reese's Pieces eggs)! To make it video game related, you can eat these while playing your favorite game.

...what's the point of taking games off the shelf during a chainwide sale and then putting them back out after the sale? It isn't laziness, since it's more work to hide them than let 'em sell; and it isn't just greed, because they weren't bought. Frankly, it seems like spite is the motivating factor, and associates who pull that (SHAQ-FU) really need to find a new line of work.
It's bait. Basically they bank on people like us to end up buying something else since we don't want to waste our trip there. 6+ months later, they start another crazy sale, hide the games again and the cycle continues. I realized target was scum since the whole amiibo ordeal.

They did the same with game of throne Oreo. During the hype of season 8. They told me they sold out of it. I visited on Sunday, the whole shelf filled with Oreos. Pos target.

We saw those and quickly put them back once we realized they missed an opportunity to make them blood red. They're just straight up regular oreo's. Boring.

Oreos are an outside vendor product and don’t have accurate counts in the inventory system — if they even have a count, at all.

Most Targets leave it up to Mondelez/Nabisco to fill their own product, and most team members generally don’t know anything about any of this, sadly.

At least at the Walmart I work at, we legit ran out because everybody was buying 'em.

At first I thought you guys were joking about the Oreos. Random and odd what becomes hyped. The Nuka cola and McD’s dipping sauce at least were tied to the game/show.

Recent round of clearance games are back at full price (Beast Quest, Farming Sim 17, etc.) at my nearest store. They were never marked clearance but went through a couple drops. Only reason I knew was because of this thread. They just sat on an endcap mixed with about 100 other reg price games.

I think other people mentioned this happening but it’s the first time I’ve seen it

No beast quest or farming sim at my store.

It's a toys to life game like Skylanders, very repetitive. They dropped the figures, and plan to add a bunch of digital only dlc down the line. They are adding a $12 dlc that comes out soon, along with some new digital pilots and ships that you have to pay for. You're better off buying the digital deluxe version, that comes with everything.
And you're even better off not buying it at all and playing an actual game!

Hey-o!

What is your idea of an actual game? Because, Starlink is made by Ubisoft, which is one of the top game developers in the world.
I don't believe any Toys to Life or any game that requires you to make additional purchases outside of just the game itself is a real game. Skylanders is pretty easily identified as a vapid cashgrab.

Sometimes, they decide to restock the same items that they previously clearanced and sell them again at full price. I've seen it before with all that popular culture junk that they sell in the electronics section near the Blu-Rays and DVDs. It doesn't make a lot of sense, but that's Target!

A while ago my closest Target had a clearance shelf filled with dozens of packages of "Mystery Flavor" Oreo. Who would've thought that people wouldn't buy something when they had no idea what it tasted like?

Ugh all the adventure times are sold out at my nearest targets at least according to brick seek.  Gotta wonder why they suddenly chose now to go sold out when usually stuff like this stays in stores for near forever.  I'll stop in anyway while grocery shopping and see if they happen to have one since that game looks interesting since it's more rpg than the others.  not sure about the garbage one but nameless kingdom was zelda lite, explore the dungeon was a weird dungeon crawler rougelite iirc and the only one I managed to complete was investigations the point and click adventure game basically.

Maybe I will get lucky and five below will have a copy like they did for explore the dungeon.

While I am thinking of it does pirates of the enchiridian have a ce like the others did?

Same as my store. Sold out of adventure times.

Confession: I actually really liked the first Skylanders game on the 3DS (which, I guess, is different from all other versions of the game?). Not enough to go all in on figures or anything, but it was a decently fun platform adventure to pick up on clearance. When my stepson got into it later on the XB1 with his dad, I dug out the 3DS copy for him to play and he loved it.

I was able to pick up Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue Limited Edition for $9.99 today. It wasn't in the clearance section, just in the value games. I figured it was either going to be 19.99 or misplaced in the section but it scanned for 9.99.

Brickseek doesn't appear to be showing any results in the zip codes I've checked: https://brickseek.com/target-inventory-checker/?sku=207-34-0083
Shows nothing here in the East Bay. :( Boo.

No results in my area.  Not even the usual full price or out of stock listings.

Can’t speak to sky landers but for Starlink. I beat the whole game and enjoyed every second of it. I payed $20 for the switch version as Newegg has had it and several other retailers at that price. I needed no extras and The starter pack Included the game, a mini Starfox figurine, and a decent sized arwing. While I will admit being able to play as Starfox made it ten times more enjoyable. You only need one pilot and one ship really. All the extra nonsense is for children who want toys.

And yes it is a real full length game. More so than many other games released unfinished nowadays since developers are given deadlines.

I actually just started it yesterday after grabbing a clearance copy at Target (also on Switch)

Starfox carries no nostalgia for me, but I'm really enjoying it. Controls feel good, gameplay is smooth. Currently playing in digital mode so I can use my pro controller, but that just means I'm using the Arwing since it's installed.
