Target Clearance Thread XXIV

Hard to pass up Forbidden West on day one for $36.50 total. And if the reviews aren’t good, an easy enough return.

What do you think the chances are that they cancel the order, since it covers two out of the three exclusions? Anyone here have experience with a situation like this?

The closest approximation for me was when they accidentally priced preorders for Dishonored 2 for $19.99 back during a holiday season (was supposed to be the sale price for the original). Ultimately, they honored that mistake, although I had to go through the steps of confirming I still wanted it six months or so after the order (if I hadn’t, they would have canceled the order).
 
My mom, brother, and myself did not get the 40%, but my sister did ^^

Almost bit on :switch: Ys IX, but even with the latest patch, this one is much better to get on PS4.

I too have that offer. Every week it’s beauty or baby personalized offers for me and I never purchase any of that. Practically all I buy from Target is video games and toys. Target Circle is so inept...
 
When they were selling the idea of Target Circle, the main idea was that the offers would be personalized but yeah most of the offers I've been getting are for fucking makeup, shoes, and bandaids and shit, like wtf.

I mostly get either health care or grocery isle items myself. The 25% off jerky was the best coupon I've gotten in a while. I miss when they had the such and such amount off a 25-35-50-75 and so on purchase.

 
Sweet deal.  Thanks to this offer I was able to pickup PS5 versions of:

-Hitman 3 ($40 on sale)

-Tiny Tina's Wonderland deluxe ($90)

-Gran Turismo deluxe ($90)

-Alan Wake remastered ($30)

for only $138, saving ~50% off MSRP on these day1 games.  Can't wait to put them on the shelf and not play them!

Horizon 2 special edition was not qualifying for the offer when I checked however...

 
Going to go pickup Hitman 3 later on today and see if I can figure out and workaround all this Sony tomfoolery in order to use the PS4 disc version of Hitman 1 (GOTY $20 steelbook almost everyone here bought), and this month's free PS+ version of Hitman 2, to their upgraded PS5 versions.  After 30minutes of .com carting and Googling articles it would appear that this is all possible.  You've got to have 1 installed and then there should be able to launch it and then claim the "Legacy Pack".  Then you've got to have 3 installed and you should be able to launch it and redeem the "Hitman 3 Starter Pack" and the "Hitman 3 Access Pass: Hitman 2 Staandard Edition".

Voila!  Hitman 1-3 upgraded PS5 versions.  

$24 for the Hitman 3 PS5 disc with this Target offer and (upgradable) Hitman 2 is free on PS+ through September.  (I figure there has to be one other person around here that might find this useful.)

My phone actually just lit up with this offer a bit ago and I did a double take, couldn't believe they were offering that much off games. I added every pre-order I already have elsewhere to the cart the see which ones qualified and was able to snag Horizon Forbidden West Special Edition, The Cruel King and the Great Hero Storybook Edition, and Blue Reflection Second Light. I also added in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 for a grand total of $136.60 after the coupon and a little bit of Circle earnings I had. Now to cancel those 3 pre-orders at Gamestop lol

For everyone talking about Ys IX, I'm actually playing that game right now and I feel like I'm the only person that doesn't like it. Its narrative and characters are just so boring compared to past Ys games (especially VIII) and while the gameplay is the usual frantic fun, the exploration is a bit lacking since many of the areas look the same (though the vertical movement is pretty cool). It's not a bad game, but I don't rush to play it when I have free time the way I rushed to play VIII or Origin or Oath in Felghana. If it's your very first Ys game, it's a fine start, but the series, in my opinion, has much better offerings. I kind of wish they'd make an Adol-only game again (maybe the remake of V will be that, but I fear it'll just be the party system again).

Made a target run Sunday was able to get Dragon Ball fighter Z for PS4 for $5.99 I also got FIFA 19 for PS4 for $8.99 and got Spyro trilogy on Xbox one for $11.99. I was also able to get four tile mates for $7.49 each.

So I just did a Target chat...and the representative honored Horizon 2 AND SMTV. Got the special edition for PS5 and SMTV for $92 total. Awesome!

What did you tell them? I tried it yesterday and they just kept saying they could only offer 10% off and I should sign up for a redcard to get the offer. Also are you able to pick up the orders in store or do they only deliver? I'm planning on picking up SMTV on release date to get the steelbook.

I told them that I had already made the order earlier, but forgot to add some items to that order. I asked if I could add items to the existing order, or be provided an opportunity to make another order with the discount. He told me that it is in fact, a 1 time use, but that since I've been a member since 2014, they would offer an exception. He told me to make an order paying full price, then to provide him the order number, in which he retroactively reimbursed me 40% off the total order.

I had to make a new account last year as my old one was on a burner email which I didn't have access to, so they probably won't make the exception. I'll probably just price match walmart and use some discounts I had for it.

It's pretty dumb, but it is what it is. If you've had a Target account for a while, you can try what ElvisTheGreat said above. I actually have a few offers which I'm planning to use to get SMTV for essentially $20 out of pocket which is to have them price match Walmart's $49.99, then get 15% off with an EDU discount, then get another 5% with a birthday discount(set it right before the release date) and then a $20 off coupon I had from some event. Out of pocket will be $20, but I have some $5 gift cards to use on it. I can also use the $0.24 I had saved from Target Circle.

Wow, didn't realize it was for everything.  I noticed it for a bunch of Lego, since I've been periodically refreshing my favorites list waiting for an item to come back in stock for the GC promo.  It wasn't for every single Lego set but the really high priced stuff that had the glitch were already gone.  I managed to put orders in for 2 items that had low(ish) MSRPs.  They aren't showing up in my account yet clicking on the order details page in my confirmation e-mails does bring them up.

 
Stopped at a target to kill time and found this. Not priced but rang up regular price. The outer wrapping was missing so they gave me 15% off.

Target gives a 15% discount for Uni students. You supposedly get it via the app's Target circle, but I've yet to get it and will probably just contact support in November to get it. I was poking around my Target account and saw the student verification option and wondered what it did which led me to seeing you get 15% off with it. It's a 1 time coupon mind you so you can't use it multiple times, but you could easily just get a fake transcript and submit that for the discount on new accounts changing the name/classes each time. Their verification process takes literally <5mins to complete.

This is the only time I'll ever buy at full price let alone at Target, so it works out for me.

Didn’t miss much, they canceled all accidental $500 gift cards. If you didn’t pick up an instore order fast or get an egift card for another company other than target you probably had whatever you got canceled or taken

-edit now I’m reading target was able to cancel any unused T-Mobile & cricket prepaid cards before people could apply them to their accounts

If I buy something with part target circle earnings and I return it, so I get the earnings back? Or are they gone? Like I bought FF7 for 49.99 but used $13 in target earnings. And now I want to return it unopened.

I’ve read both that you do get them back and that you don’t. But hoping someone here has actually returned something like this and can confirm whether you do get the circle earnings (in my case the $13) back.
