Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Confirmed for Wii

Goddamn, this game is awesome. I unlocked Saki and Joe. Been mostly using Ryu alot. Roll is also freaking awesome.
This technique doesn't really work well against the final form, especially the hand swipe>grab>laser beam of death attack (pretty sure you gotta doge that one, I think it's unblockable), but what I do is save all my super meters until the 3rd form, then unleash hell.
I'm pretty sure you can Mega Crash out of it, like you can with the 2nd form's grab super.

I just bought the game today off of Play-Asia, put the bitch on UPS shipping. I do not have the patience to wait so there goes another $100. :D

Man it has been at least since Summer since I imported, and that time was Stafy 5. I just love importing crap Americans will never be able to play. Thank god for Geckos though, otherwise I can forget it.

Damn, those videos look so nice. MvC2 is one of the few fighting games that I played and played and played to death (Rival Schools is another). Just watching those videos made me think I'd be keeping it in the console for a long time.

Dunno if I should hold off for a sale price, or go ahead and give in...

Give in! I was going to buy it with the Vanilla Visa from Blockbuster but when I tried to use it, it failed because it does not work with International orders. :bomb: So, I'm going to have to buy it from a local retailer, probably NCSX for more. Hopefully I can get it before Christmas. I plan on calling NCSX to confirm their stock because right now, it is in waiting for restock status.

Edit: There has to be some LEGAL way I can use this thing internationally. Paypal didn't work either.

I'm about to order this from Play-Asia, anyone know if the japanese Wii Hori stick is compatible with U.S. Wiis? Just want to make sure before I place my order.

Edit: Looks like it should according to Play-Asia's guide.

I 10000% sure this game never & ever release in US. I really want this game but i really really don't want spend $80 for it. Also, not sure i can play it on my US wii :(

I'm still betting it will appear in the States, either as Marvel vs. Capcom 3 or some other reskinned title. Just change all the Tatsunoko characters to Capcom characters and call it "Super Capcom Bros. Brawl," fer crissakes.

It wouldn't be the same game, then.

Game is crack though. To whoever asked earlier, you can unlock 3rd colors for the Capcom characters but not the Tatsunoku ones.
I need more time to play this game. fuck work

This game is like crack
How do you know what crack is like, experience? :bouncy:

I'm just playing, only 2 more days until I get to play it along with Let's Tap. Yay I will have 3 import Wii games now ^.^

Doubtful, 1UP fucking blows for release dates. I remember for the longest time they had a date set-up for Ys Eternal Book 1 +2 and I don't see it for my PS2 (unless you count my import).

Anyway, mine should be here today, UPS stated it is out for delivery. :)

I'm sure that's just a placeholder for the U.S. They are assuming it's going to make it over here. I still like other CAG's here doubt it's going to make over here. At least not in the current form. They probably would even dub the intro into some horrible American synth/metal guitar intro and then lose a couple of characters due to someone not having licensing to it.

I can't see it making it over here... I doubt Capcom wants to have to make various deals to get the license holders on board. Especially for an exclusive Wii fighting game.

I partially disagree. It's been my opinion from the various interviews that Capcom really wants to bring this over here. I think they want to make those deals. I'm not saying they'll be able to but I think they genuinely want to do that.

What Capcom wants and what make sense financially are two very different things. To obtain the licenses from the multiple companies involve, to localize the game for the American market, and then to assume two risks that could put Capcom losing quite a bit of money which are:

1) Third party games perform "okay" on the system, while that is changing for sure there is still a level of assumed risk with it.

2) Who the fuck in America knows who Tatsunoko are? I don't even know who they are, I just bought it because Capcom fighters kick ass (RE: I'm in a super minority). That and I am a hardcore importer, another small minority.

Marvel made sense. SNK made sense. This? Not so much.

If it does come, it would be changed dramatically. If by miracle it comes, it'll bomb. There's just no real market for it. This will be much like Jump Superstars and its sequel: there is too much work, money, and risk involved for it to be viable.

If you really want it, import it. If it does come here though in its original form, I'll be shocked and more than happy to purchase it again. :)

This is nothing like Jump because most of the series are unlicensed, and the one that are license might be expired or does not include the right to a video game. Even if Cacpom does have to pay it would be a lot cheaper than the DBZ or Naruto license. If Capcom is willing to release JoJo Bizarre Adventure on the DC, then there is a slight chance of this getting a US release.

UPS delivered my game yesterday. Awesome so far! Got to the final form of the last boss but wasn't able to beat him. I'll have to try the suggestions from earlier posts next time. Playing with my Gamecube controller for now until the Hori fighting stick comes back in stock on Play-Asia.

Who are you using? I can help you with just about anyone... even Golden Lightan! (Who was by far the hardest character to beat the boss with.... it was super frustrating!)

I was using Ryu and Batsu, only tried the last form 2 or 3 times before I had to get to bed. Pretty much just went straight into arcade, I'm familiar with Ryu but still learning Batsu. I think I just need to conserve my health on the first two forms and familiarize myself with the last form's moves. Any help is appreciated though!

The cheap and easy way to beat the final boss is to guard and continually use Hadoken with Ryu, Mega Crashing if you get caught, and Shinku Hadoken when he's open (like after a super). You can pretty much go through all of his forms with Ryu with that strategy. If you want to see another character's ending, whittle him down then just swap out or get Ryu killed and deal the finishing blow with the second character.

Yea, and try to have at least 3 super bars going into the fight with the 3rd form. The 3rd forms 3 supers are all devastating, but easily avoidable. Just make sure you super jump from the grab! It does a ton of damage.

Not looking forward to beating Yami with Gold Lightan.

Still have to beat the game with 2 more Capcom Characters (PTX/Viewtiful Joe) and then I actually have to BUY the costumes.

Man this wait is killing me! I ordered the game the 17th in December I'm hoping it comes tomorrow... You guys are having fun with it.

At least i didn't pay more then 65 dollars for this amazing piece of gaming history...

Went to a GS today and sitting on the shelf was a new Hori Arcade Stick which was covered in dust. Gonna try it out tomorrow!! Paid $40 + tax with in store credit

Ordered from Play Asia on Dec. 21 and finally got mine today. I have been playing it ever since the mailman dropped it off. The game is great and very addicting. Luckily I have a Hori Wii Arcade Stick which makes it even more fun.

Got 80% of the stuff in the game unlocked. Not like any of it matters minus the Capcom Costumes.

It'll be nice when I get 100%, so I won't have to worry about anymore.

When I play my Tatsunoko vs. Capcom with GeckOS, the screen is slightly above center. My friend's is also like this. I noticed that some things near the top get cut off; not a lot, but a tiny bit. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, is there a way to fix it? I'm using 3.4 firmware with the 1.7 Gecko. Thanks!

I would like to know this too. I'm also having the same issue (although it's barely noticeable). A friend of mine pointed it out when he asked why the "press start" icon was being chopped off at the top of the screen. I'm using firmware 3.3 with the 1.7 Gecko.

Go into the Options menu in the TvC main menu and from there you can change the screen position (Y or X Axis)

For anyone too lazy to find translation for the main menu, here you go:

Arcade Mode
Vs. Mode
Survival
Time Attack
Training
Play Data
Option
Shop
Gallery
Original (Mini) Games

So the Hori stick is good for the value???

Is it easy to swap out the layer under the buttons to switch for artwork?

The Tatsunko vs. Capcom official stick is nice but 90 dollars on playasia is a tad too pricey. I'd like to get the hori because it seems like a good value for the money.

thanks guys i was just waiting for some input, ordered it from amazon for 7.99 after a $10 GC they gave me for screwing up a past order

Alright I've got a couple of questions..

First is in the shop there is some type of character thing you can buy for a 1,000 points. I bought one and i can't figure out what it did.. It's not the other four characters because I've unlocked them already. So, what do they do exactly?

Second with the white paper and blue print there is something going in Japan on the 31st of Janurary I'm guessing this is some kind extend your warranty probably not that big..

Lastly, sometimes it would be nice if the game had online play even though that can't happen but it would be fantastic feature.... in Mavrel vs. Capcom 2 when it's put out on the ps 3/360 i'm betting that's going to happen.

I was thinking about getting this, but what is the best way to run on a US system? Any help would be great.
Thanks!
