Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Fightstick $13

Lmao. Got this at $19.99 then $16.99. Still gotta get 1 of those Wii controller converters to play it on my PS3.

Got two of the last three of these in the Dallas area this morning. Thanks OP. If anyone in Dallas wants one, the Mesquite store on Galloway is itching to get rid of their last one.

For anyone wondering, these don't work with Metal Slug Anthology. I had my doubts, but still hoped they would. No luck. Sorry for the slight thread derailment.

Yup, MSA won't work with anything (Classic Controller Pro & any sticks) other than the WiiMote which is downright silly.

Ended up driving a bit over an hour and got one. Two GSs two hours away have them and I kind of want a second one know.
Decisions, decisions....

My wife's pastor lives near them, so I might have her call him up and ask hin to grab one for me.

I remember when I was excited about this game coming out then I saw it was only for the Wii so I said "bleep!!" and called it a day..

I concur. I picked up the stick about a month ago, I still don't own the game.

Don't remind me! I, still, want this game! Since I'm collecting Wii games for when the Wii drops in price, I might as well collect this game when I find it for cheap! Thanks for the reminder!
If anyone is looking for a modder, I can help : )
Can you put this on my stick with yellow/blue/green Sanwas and board for ps2/gamecube/dreamcast?

I can pay you in hugs.
Wonder if I should get another for no reason...:whistle2:k
I have 2. They sit in their boxes. No.idea what to do with them

New question. Is this suppose to come with the game too?

Anyone know good games go well with this fight stick?

@Specialist, Go to focusattack.com and you can get all the parts you need. Get some standard (cheapest) Sanwa stick and parts, and a MC Cthulhu board. Installation is really easy, and if you don't want to solder the ethernet port out (for use with console controller extention cords) you can buy another screw terminal. Shoryuken's tech talk is the best place to ask for help.

good thing they are OOS in my area. I do not want to be tempted to buying another fightstick no matter the cost. Just bought a TE last week off ebay for 75...and that is getting modded as well.

Great pick up at the price though. As for games......other that TvC the ones that come off the top of my head are the classic arcade titles like the SNK collection, KoF Orochi Saga, and the Data East collection.

How big are the sticks? There is a gamestop that claims it has it and it is really fucking close to me. Although storing the stick will be the only problem till I can mod it.

I mean I can use it for Wii games but it wont see much use until it's modded which will be a few months.

I'd say put two ps3 games side by side for the width and about three cases high, not counting the joystick.

Thanks, gonna see if that gamestop still has one tomorrow. I am thinking about modding it as a gift for someone actually, and well hopefully I can still find it.

Yeah, I keep meaning to go down this route and start modding these (I've got three), but something always stops me.

I know the MC Cthulhu board is the best for PS2/Dreamcast/etc but I don't have any soldering tools at all. Not sure if going that route with alternate screw terminals would be completely solder-free or not. Gotta research it a little more.

You can get a soldering iron, solder, wire strippers, and wire at radio shack for like $30. Sure it's an investment but it's always good to have a soldering iron.

Nope, just the stick. I think the game's around $20 currently.
Do you guys think this will work for the Wii U?
In theory, yes since Nintendo already said Wii accessories will be compatible while Gamecube accessories won't be.

Yes, around that size & ~3.5 pounds. Parts aren't horrible as some peeps make them out to be. A while ago, someone on SRK posted detailed comparison pics vs actual Sanwa parts & only difference are the springs in both buttons & stick (it uses very similar Omron switches just like in Sanwa parts). So if you can find a vendor that sells Sanwa springs (they're $1 - $2 each) then you're good to go. On the otherhand, I can see why peeps would rather buy actual Sanwa parts for piece of mind.

Games I've verified to be compatible with this stick:

Super Smash Bros Brawl, Samurai Shodown Anthology, KoF Collection & TvC

WILL NOT WORK WITH METAL SLUG ANTHOLOGY! MSA will only work with the WiiMote. It'll work on a PS3 if you get that Mayflash converter that's on Amazon:

Grabbed the stick. I plan to mod it for PS3/PC/360 use and not use it for Wii (I will wait till around the end of the year when I have the cash). As for build quality, the casing is nice but the actual joystick is pretty shitty.

Buttons are pretty meh as well but they are not in total need of replacing as that joystick is. Either way for $13, it's a steal just for the case alone.

Thanks OP for the heads up. I been wanting to try stick modding but buying a case was something I didn't want to do, due to pricing and stuff. Now I don't have to worry :D.

everything on that stick sucks. All Sanwa knock off. Focusattack and paradise arcaede will be your best friend when getting parts for it.

EDIT:
Sorry for the double.

Thanks, I will keep that in mind for the future. Probably going to replace just about everything on that stick because the parts suck and tie it into a MC Cthulhu with real Sanwa parts. It it will make a great first stick project :D.

Reviews say that its as good or better then SF4 fight stick.
I already got the Tekken 6 fight stick for xbox 360.
Now i need to find games to go well with the wii fight stick.

For $12.99, cant go wrong with it. Where will u find a new fight stick for that price?
Plus, you can mod it (I dont know how, but someone here stated about modding)

Got this stick for $20 before the price drop and I find it a decent stick especially for the price. Add a couple of bucks get the mayflash adapter to make it compatible with the PC/PS3.

Yeah, for the $13 it's okay for the money. Still I am going to mod mine because the parts feel real cheap. I want real parts so the stick is sturdier overall and of better quality. My first 5 minutes with the stick made me feel that the stick uses a poor joystick, poor buttons and is of overall poor construction.

I know there is PS3 to PC adapters and such but I also don't want to settle for a Chinese adapter on a stick with poor parts .

Case is the same as the original SF SE stick BUT with much improved buttons & joystick lever. Also, the WWE Brawlstick version (same as this but for the ps3/360) has a more reliable PCB since the PCB's in those original SF SE sticks were prone to breakdown. Very easy to mod. Unscrew from the bottom & you're in! Do a search on shoryuken.com (Tech Talk forum) on how to mod with just a Phillips & flathead screwdriver.

There's no consistency with this product in terms of buttons & joystick lever. I've bought 4 - 5 of them & some where super tight yet others were rather loose (all were purchased brand new) so I can see where you're coming from. However, I'm going to disagree about the overall poor construction. All of the one's I bought had good quality control & felt fine but perhaps you got a bad one.

That Chinese adapter (Mayflash) works just fine regardless of price. I've never heard of issues with it but then again I haven't read recent reviews on Amazon.

Like Detectiveconan16 said, FocusAttack.com would be the best place to go for the parts. Doing the mod you mentioned would be simple. However if you look up the tutorials and are not sure about it, I'd suggest having someone with experience with modding help you. Currently I only have a stock of translucent Seimitsu buttons (can put art inside the buttons) and Paewang PCB (PS3/360).

If you are going a route where soldering is needed, please practice soldering on a practice board until your soldering is neat and you feel comfortable. I've seen too many times where customers come up to me with soldering jobs that are terrible and in many cases certain parts of the pcb contacts are ruined.

For the art, I suggest printing your art on a lami label (laminated print) that is basically a sticker. You can do this at any Kinkos and only cost about $3-$6 I believe. Use this template in Photoshop (http://www.capcom-unity.com/s-kill/blog/2009/02/09/diy_stick_art_sfiv_fightstick_faceplate_templates). Tip: when applying the art make sure the surface is clean and lightly wet it that way if you're slightly off you can reposition it.

If you guys have questions PM me. Oh and I do not accept hugs for payment, cookies...maybe:D

EDIT: nobody mentioned Guilty Gear!? Don't forget there are also the virtual console titles such as Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Samurai Showdown. Also you can use this for non fighting games too like side scrolling shooters, I'm a fan of R-Type myself.

Speaking of soldering irons, does anyone know a good place to buy breadboards from? Radio Shack just has those nonsense plug one's and the only big electronics supply place around has none.
