Team Building Event coming up with work, but with limited budget

Hey all, I volunteered to help try to run the team building event at work later this month. We have a budget of 150 bucks for 22 people. Obviously, we could either go for a decent catered lunch or I know that our company gets a huge discount at Papa John's-- could spend 35 on pizza to feed us and somehow use the 120 dollars to do something of substance.

Any ideas of what this could be? I've tried the little theme park things with mini golf, bumper cars, etc-- those go in the 300 dollar range. I was thinking of maybe somehow getting the use of a park. I dunno, it's hard to entertain and feed 22 people for 150 bucks. Anyone have any ideas? It'll be much appreciated. Thanks CAG!

$150 to do anything with 22 people is absurd. Sounds more like a team destroying situation ;)

It is. Right now we're figuring we get a conference room, some board games, even a poker game going and splinter off however we like.

The rock band suggestion is funny because it was suggested, but I'm not sure if I want 21 other assholes touching my shiz.

Some board games and some casino games seem like a good idea. I wouldn't bring my own video game equipment in, but if someone else wants to, that would be cool.

Maybe hang out at a park. Play some basketball/football/frisbee. You could get some grilling going. Bring an ipod and some portable speakers. Anything that could get you out of the office.

Lol @ Gremlins 2. Depending on the field of work you're in you may try trading out something your company does with another company. A hotel I worked for would trade out room nights to WalMart, Target & Macy's for their merchandise.

Problem is we're not even sure if we're allowed to go off site. When I emailed my first proposal (Papa John's for everyone, a round of mini golf, laser tag, and one hour of game time in the arcade at Golf Land for 375, which I thought was a good fucking value for 22 people) I got told we couldn't leave off site and it couldn't exceed 150 dollars. Pisses me off. My manager is going to ask if staying onsite is an absolute necessity, but I don't expect to hear back.

We're in Arizona, so grilling dogs and playing out in the park in our perfect weather right now sounds fantastic AND cheap. :/ Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.

Also, I have Gremlins 2 on Laser Disc. I'll think about bringing in my player if it happens to be we're stuck in a conference room.

Have a potluck man. Super cheap. Everyone cooks and brings something in, and it lets them feel involved.

We have them at work all the time and people love them. It helps! They usually happen once a week.

Flag football 7 on 7, with the 8 shitty people being bench players.

First score wins.

The football and flags might run $40-$50 maybe.

Then $100 on food, tacos is a good idea, get a taco van to come to the site.

go to jack in the box, 300 tacos and Battlestar Galactica marathon.

Unlimited juice, Arrested Development Marathon. AD is on sale this week at Target.
