Hey Mak, we told you to build your own compy, but this isn't too bad of a deal:
Core 2 Quad Q6600 w/ 22HD LCD, Vista Premium, 3GB RAM, .5TB HDD and OC'ed 8800GT (512MB) for $1200, plus a free game at Best Buy.

One reason i hate OEMs is because of the cases. They purposely design them to be hard to expand, sometimes they may only have one empty 5.25/3.5 size slot.

That is an awesome computer. I really wish mine was more than a year old so I could get a new one. :x

Bioshock is creepy as hell. I just started after not playing forever. I just got the Incinerate plasmid and melted the two ice piles thing but I forget where I need to go and what I'm trying to do. I knew before but I've forgotten. The upstairs ice thing leads to a crematory and the downstairs ice thing leads to a dental place.

But if the board is a standard form factor, that's not that big of a deal. AFAIK, Gateway is one of the better companies about that.

If it was HP/Compaq, I might have reservations. You could always ask them to open it up inthe store.

Besides...most people don't need those extra slots anymore, not people like myself and Mak, anyways.

You might add a second HDD, but you're better off power and heat wise just having one large HDD.

*Notices the standard arcade carpet*

Damn, this is a tough choice to make. On one hand, the game kicks so much ass (what are perks, btw?), and I've gotten not-great sleep for three nights in a row.

Perks are sort of like power-ups. When you create a class, you get to choose three perks, one from each category. Category one has things like get 3 special grenades (stun/flash/smoke), get 3 frags (last one you get), get and RPG, get two claymors, and get two C4s.

Category 2 has things like a health boost and extra bullet damage.

Category 3 has things like martyrdom (drop a live nade when you die) and one where you can sprint for longer.

You unlock them as you level up. I don't remember many of them as I usually use the same set, so check 'em out for yourself and decide which are best for your set. :]

This is for online, right? It would explain why I have no idea what you're talking about.

My little brother is watching "Barnyard" on TV and it is driving me insane.

Oh well I am out OTT. I am gonna try for like the millionth time to go see Juno. I will probably end up playing Rock Band instead.

I was using my eavesdrop perk at Walgreens and overheard some large white woman talking to her tiny black boy toy about herpes. :(

Yep.

That's what external drives and home servers are for.

Besides - I've NEVER had a HDD fail on me in 20 years.

Things I have to save for now: Vacation to NYC, Engagement Ring, Rent for the Summer/Stuff for the apartment, Moving cross-country probably

Things I get to buy starting in Sept: New PC, HDTV, More Games

Can't wait.

I'm going to go play CoD4. Someone should really advise me while I'm away. :]

Picked up MUA at CC. The two copies they had were locked inside the same plastic case, so I had to carry this huge case over there. Why does CC reorganize their games section every few weeks? Everything was shuffled around since the last time I was in there a few weeks ago.

Noticed that the Rock/Metal station was talking about NASCAR all morning. Had to listen to the Classic Rock station instead, which was playing mostly protest songs from the 60's & 70's. :( They did play the one song from Futurama, I believe, in that episode where the ship gets pulled down to the bottom of the ocean, where they find the lost city of Atlanta.

The Warhawk plans for Home in the next update sound sweet. Basically uses one person's apartment as a party that you can hop into your own server from there. The new weapons/items sound nice, too.
My gf is begging me to let her go buy the Target 42" HDTV for $897. Too bad neither one of us can afford it.
Rock were you in the Med Pavillion? Did you try melting the big blocks of ice downstairs? I got stuck there a while.
how long was it?
I finished in about 12 hours. There's a couple bonus puzzles I haven't done yet but the story is done.

Yeah, I did, I just don't know where to go next. There were two blocks of ice, one upstairs and one downstairs, and I don't know which I have to go in. I knew at one point because it was like a gigantic fetch quest to get the that Nero's Lair or some shit like that, but you need to move a blockage so you needed telekinesis but the ice was blocking it so you needed fire etc. etc.

But I haven't played in over a month and I don't want to go down a big old wrong path just to have wasted ammo and shit on somewhere that doesn't have what I want. I'm trying to conserve my ammo and Eve.

How did you miss my post?

Telekinesis at the dentist, $$$$a.

Morning.

I was sort of intending to wake up about five hours ago to get homework done. Oops. I guess my sleep deficit is starting to catch up with me?

I saw it, I was just responding to him. ;)

Thanks.

Also, it bothers me that you need DLC to get all the characters for MUA (and apparantly Beautiful Katamari needs DLC too but I haven't opened that yet).

Don't worry about lack of ammo and eve though. It's fucking everywhere, especially later in the game.
The last thing Bioshock is is a survival horror game.

There's a Gold version of the game that includes that DLC, though, of course, that's not what was on sale at CC.

Downloaded the free GHIII DLC on the PS3 and 360, though I don't own the game yet on either system. :D

Really? Doesn't seem like it now. Although I do have a shitload of health.

Setting shit on fire is so awesome.

Yeah, I saw that. MUA came with my 360. Wish it was the gold one.

I'm sort of ashamed to say I'm considering dling the pack for $5.

Ya, I asked my gf to specifically get me the Gold edition so I wouldn't have to buy it.

It's not a bad add-on, but it's much better free. It's just more of the same really.

Ugh, dirty disk error on ME, damn you.
