The draft is tuesday night at 7:00 pm on ESPN. While I don't think this is a tremendously talented draft group, there are quite a few solid players.

You can take a look at a Mock Draft from NBADraft.net here.

What do you think, what do you hope and who will screw up the draft the worst?

Here's the first round draft order, I'll try and keep it updated as the draft goes on.
I think knicks will mess up as usual. heh
Sounds like they're going to take Channing Frye if he's still available. He's got talent, but his mental game worries me.

NBA draft has little intrigue for me. The NFL does a little bit, but it I think people get way to worked up for drafts. One can only truly grade a draft after what 3 or 4 years?

I do love the goofiness of the MLB draft though, what is there like 8,734 rounds?

Which is why baseball is teh suck

Damn Bucks got lucky. If Redd stays and TJ Ford comes back (healthy) they will gun for another playoff run.
I think it will be wise for them to pick Marvin Williams even though they are in a desperate need of a center. I just think Bogout is a bulkier Darko. He also seems way too cocky and is going to be shitted on by other centers.

I also feel sorry for which ever team picks Chris Paul's dirty ass.

I

Whoever drafts Julius Hodge is going to be very happy with their pick. He may not have all the skills others do, but he has a lot of heart

and bobo is correct, Chris Paul is a piece of shit
Why the hate for Chris Paul? The guy's a solid point guard with a love for the game.

As for Bogut, he held his own against Duncan in the Olympics, and outside of Shaq, what truly punishing centers are out there? Yao doesn't bang, and the next best centers are Brad Miller and Erick Dampier. Centers shouldn't be too much of a worry, as it's the weakest position in the league. Plus, a center who can shoot out to 18 feet is a huge boon. He's not going to revolutionize the center position, but he's not that bad of a player.
Agreed.

because he hits people in the balls for no reason (hodge was the one cock knocked) and later claims it was because the fans were being mean to him

Since the Cavs have no picks, I'm not all that excited. I'm just wondering how much more Dan Gilbert can screw the franchise up even more.

So one incident would make him a bad draft pick? Time to stop the draft completely then. He led the ACC in steals as a freshman, he's a proven scorer with 3 point range, a skilled ball-handler, a deft assist man, and a true floor leader. That's the kind of point guard I would want to draft. Everyone loses their cool at some point. At least he's not getting busted for drugs or something worse.

It shows he is a dirty player and the fact that he did it to the teams leading scorer is evident of how much of a piece of shit he is (on top of that, this was a team fighting for an NCAA birth).

And one incident may not make him a bad pick, but doing it hurt his team severely and cost them a first seed in the tournament. If they had a first seed they probably would have gone a little farther then they did.

To call him a dirty player because he did one stupid thing is a bit much. If he showed a pattern of dirtyness, I would agree with you. Noe of us can know why he really did it, so it's pointless to argue it. He screwed up. That doesn't make him dirty.

so if I was playing a basketball game with you and went and hit you in the nuts to win a game (he was not kicked out of the game) I would not be dirty?
so if I was playing a basketball game with you and went and hit you in the nuts to win a game (he was not kicked out of the game) I would not be dirty?
If you kicked me in the nuts, I'd be damned if I didn't outplay you the rest of the game, crushed nuts or not. Basically, it comes down to this: The play may or may not have been intentionally dirty. Either way, one dirty play does not necessarily make the player dirty.

At least he's not a wifebeater like Jason Kidd... I hope we end up trading Pierce for that 3rd pick, if the most selfish thing Pierciaparra ever did was hit someone in the balls, he wouldn't be on his way out the door. Ricky Davis too.
still cheesed about Nomar, eh?
Not really, by trading him we got the players we needed to win... He's just become the gold standard for the selfish, sulking, grumpy, bitchy, and whiny player.

Speaking of getting hit in the balls...

 at least he'll be remembered for something

Thanks for making the new topic... I passed out from exhaustion after Raw last night.

I think Chris Paul will make a fine draft choice for whoever takes him, but you can't deny he's dirty. Sometimes you only need to make one dirty play to forever taint your career (See Juwan Howard's attack on Derek Anderson and/or JR Reid's cheap shot on AC Green), however, since it happened in college perhaps the average-joe bball fan won't remember/know about it.

It'll be interesting to see how the international talent is handled in this draft, with two disappointing seasons of Darko, yet a near-mvp performance in the finals from Manu.

STEAL OF THE DRAFT:
Saleem Stoutilmire (ARZ)

It is predicted that he will slide to the second round. He is the best shooter in the draft with insane range. They knock his ability to put the ball on the floor. Ray Allen can not take the ball to the rack, but he can shoot the lights out. Because of this, he is still one of the top 15 players in the NBA.

At 6-1, he's got a serious height disadvantage to be playing shooting guard in the NBA. Ray Allen is 6-5, and a lot of SGs are 6-5 to 6-7. Unless he can learn to play the point, he will be, at best, a shooter/energizer off the bench.

Not sure what Ray Allen you're watching, but the one that played for Seattle last season can drive and score on anybody in this NBA.

I think I'll just keep a window open on Yahoo to see who gets picked, as this'll be the second straight draft I won't be watching. Last year there was a blackout just before the second or third pick, which sucked, and I missed the rest of the draft.

You think you'll be upset with your picks? We picked probably the biggest bust this side of Darko last year with Araujo.

I wouldn't be surprised if we took like Juan Mendez in the 1st round. fucking cocks.

You don't like Araujo? Yeah, he kinda sucks

Dan Wetzel (analyzing the NBA draft for Yahoo) posted this just before the draft:

"While awaiting the real action, do yourself a favor and check out the home page of draft prospect Andrew Bynum, the high schooler out of Jersey: http://www.myspace.com/8750639. It is almost indescribably entertaining, but for a Cliff's Notes version here's his answer to "current thing I ought to be doing" … "Getting girls." Gotta love it."

It doesn't really look any better than anything else on the site, but it's interesting that he's got one and there are tons of people kissing his ass on there.

Talk about a class act
charlie villineuva? Dont they need a SF or a G?
With his size, Villanueva is better suited to SF. With his relative slowness, he's better suited to PF. It's going to be interesting to see how they use him, but I predict it will be at SF.

As expected, the Knicks take Channing Frye. I was secretly hoping he'd slip to the Lakers, but now I have to hope they take May or Vasquez, or possibly Diogu.
We should be the ones getting Sean May, not the Bobcats. :bomb: They seem to be going for a hometown team this year.
Interesting choice with Sean May. I would have thought they'd go for Warrick to play SF next to Okafor.
