Won 99-98 against the OKC. Yikes! That was a terrifyingly close game.

I don't like the Suns losing to the Lakers/Spurs, but at least they are good teams. I would of cried if they lost to the... now 1 - 13 Thunder.

fucking sick finish in Denver. Hornets win 105-101. I only saw the last minute, but I wish I had seen the entire game. Instead, I was out of town eating turkey and ham and watching football blowouts in glorious HD. Side note: Even though the games sucked, I've officially been spoiled by HD football. I need to upgrade to an HD receiver for my DirecTV, stat.

But back to the Nuggets/Hornets game, amazing stuff. From Carmelo's incredible effort to tie it at 88, to James Posey's clutch 3 to give NO the lead, to J.R. Smith drilling one from a fucking mile away, it was beautiful. According to the box score, the whole game was competitive. That single minute I saw exemplifies why I love the NBA.

It's just unfortunate for New Orleans that they have some issues that in no way have to do with their level of talent, and that they won't be able to go any further than they already have under Byron Scott (coach being the problem; not players). If they had their shit straight, I truly believe James "Big Game" Posey would make the difference between last season's finish and an NBA Championship.
 
If your home team happens to have a televised game against the Pacers, I suggest you watch it and see Danny Granger play. The kid's been unbelievable so far this year. He's been over 30 points five times this year and made monstrous plays on the defensive end, with highlight blocks, including 6 of them against Houston a few nights ago. I haven't been wowed by any Pacer player since Reggie Miller, but this guy has something great going.
 
How bout them Lakers last night? Losing and down by 11 in the first half but turned on the jets in the 2nd half to get another win by 7 points 114 - 107 victory.

Awesome game

In other news, Suns trade Raja Bell, Boris Diaw, and Singletary for Jason Richardson and Jared Dudley.

I think it's about damn time they got rid of Diaw, I'm a little disappointed they traded Singletary because I think he has great potential (I like him more than Dragic for sure). And definitely sad to see Bell go, but I can't deny that Richardson puts up better numbers overall. I think the Suns made out pretty well in this deal.

J-Rich hasn't been the same since he got knee surgery in the beggining of the 06-07 season...but Nash/J-Rich/Barnes/Stoudemire/Shaq....not too shabby.

Happy for J-Rich and Barnes....bringing the 'We Believe' movement to Phoenix...

Yeah I like Barnes, he always seems to play with a lot of effort.

I was glad to see my Bulls beat the Knicks on Tuesday, but the game had me on the edge of my seat (glad to see the Bulls win).

Bulls need to find a big man, or it's going to be just like last year. Drew Gooden doesn't count as a big man either. I'm going to the game next week against the Clippers, hopefully we can beat them.

Drew Gooden is a fine power forward IMO, but they just need their center.

I Brad Miller type center would be perfect IMO (I'm a fan of him since he went to a nearby H.S., then went to the same college as me, and once played for the Bulls), who can score like 12-14 points a game. They just need someone they can have post up at times, who is at least 7 foot tall. There's talk of the Bulls maybe making a trade with the Clippers sometime for a player like Chris Kaman (since the Clippers are loaded with bigger players). Noah is fine for a back-up power forward and so is Gray as a backup center.

The Pacers are dangerous. I don't see them play enough to decide whether they are underachieving (season record) or overachieving (by beating Celts, Lakers, Rockets).

Yeah, that's why I'm excited for the Clippers game, I'll be able to get a better look at Kaman to see if he's any good.:)

:lol: 20-3 Lakers! :lol: Cant complain about that. Lakers are having a good start, quarter way through the season.
 
All I can ask from the Lakers is more consistency. They are constantly up and down and tend to have to fight from behind when they wouldn't have had to if they had just kept it up during the game.

Can't wait for the Celtics and Lakers match-up on the 25th! Teams with the top two records, met in the finals last season, and they happen to be the Lakers and the Celtics, should be awesome!
 
The Boston Celtics are the best team in the east period. They play LA on Christmas Day in the garden. Then we'll see who is the best in the NBA.:bouncy::bouncy:GO GREEN!:bouncy::bouncy:

No, we won't know who's the best in the NBA until the Celtics play Cleveland again on January 9th. (The first game was was just that, the first game, and even then it was close.)
 
I'll still give the Celtics the edge as the better team RIGHT now....but in the playoffs i'd give it to the Cavs mostly because LeBron is playing what? 30 seconds in the 4th quarter nowadays?

Might have fresher legs.....all hinges on Pierce's knee

We do have that 7 game playoff series to fall back on, as well as their overall records to date. I think we have a very solid foundation of evidence to call the Celtics the best team in the NBA so far.

Only good team the Cavs have beat so far is Denver, though admittedly there are at most 6 'good' teams in the league right now.

Oh I know noting is decided until the spring. I was just playing off the idea that the Lakers are somehow the second best team. As of right now I'd disagree with that notion.

That being said though, every game is against an NBA team, and any team (Indiana for example) has a shot a beating the top tier teams any night.

I agree, and even really bad teams have a good chance of beating you on your 3rd game in 4 nights. Its tough to maintain consistency as the top teams have.

I'd definitely rank Cleveland ahead of the Lakers, both this year and last.

Bout time they woke up. As much as I love the Lakers, their inconsistency, particularly on the defensive end, concerns me greatly.

No excuses. They're just too inconsistent defensively. With two skilled seven footers up front, their FG% allowed should be much better. They still don't have that intensity and toughness. I love them, but they aren't on the same level as the Celtics yet.

This is the single most retarded thing I've read this year. You just made it in at the deadline. Good job.

Overrated? Nobody hates the typical Boston sports fan more than I, but even I can't find it within me to think that the Celts are overrated. They're the defending champs, they're 27-2, and they've won 19 straight games. All of this in a year where the East is arguably the better overall conference. Their conference record is 20-1. I think it is a bit much to say that they are overrated.

WOW... Amazing finish in Phoenix. Tied at 88, Grant Hill inbounds the ball, runs in behind a couple SA defenders, and drops in a layup with 4 and a half seconds remaining. San Antonio calls a timeout and inbounds at half court. Parker tries to drive, kicks it out to Roger Mason, and Mason hits the 3 as time expires to win it for the Spurs, 91-90.

Stuff like that reminds me of why I love basketball. I hate both teams (not that they aren't fun to watch) but that finish and the fact that Phoenix lost makes me happy. Sorry, Yukine. Now it's time for Lakers/Celtics. My only regret is that I don't get to see it in HD, but I found out that ESPN is showing Bulls/Heat, Rose vs. Beasley, tomorrow afternoon. I get a rare opportunity to see my favorite team on TV- no matter how long I live in Southern California, the Bulls are always #1 and the Lakers are #2- and I'm getting my HD receiver tomorrow.

Hot damn. Trevor Ariza with the diving save, and Vujacic catches it, hits the layup, and gets fouled. Man, NBA Christmas is already way better than NFL Thanksgiving, and we still have 2 and 1/2 games to go. Cavs/Wizards will probably have a margin of victory similar to the Thanksgiving football games, though.

EDIT: I can't believe it took until 13.5 second left in the half for Boston to shoot their first free throws. That was one hell of a well played (by both teams), physical, entertaining first half at Staples. 51-45 Lakers.

Is Tim Donaghy reffing this game? Its been horribly one-sided. That offensive foul just now on Rondo was insane.

Earlier there was a charging call when Fisher was sliding sideways inside the circle. Just awful officiating today.
