I watched Cavs/Celtics, even though I hate both teams, and Lakers/Pacers. Accidentally finding out the score of Mavs/Suns saved me the trouble of watching that on the DVR.

The Lakers game was incredibly entertaining throughout. Glad to see they won, as did the Bulls, though I don't get to see them on TV unless they're playing Boston, LA, or Cleveland.

Speaking of Cleveland- do they ever wear their home jerseys? Every home game or highlight of theirs I see, they're in throwbacks and the visiting team is wearing white.

They seem to wear road blues or a throw-back jersey every time they're on national TV. What bugs me though, is that they hardly ever wear the road reds that I prefer to the blues.

That throwback blue is awful. I really loved the throwback wine and gold they wore earlier this month and would like to see it instead of the blue.

I used to like when teams whore their throwbacks every once and a while but damn Cavs its not a throwback when you where them every other game.
Suns game was crazy, Shaq is looking the best he has in the last 5 or 6 years.

Absolutely, every night he plays you can expect a double-double from him (20 points, 10+ rebounds). And his free throw percentage is improving... I think he is a little over .600 right now. He isn't playing like a 36 year old.

Memphis signed Darius Miles today to a 10 day contract. If he plays in at least two games, Portland has to pay the 18 million remaining on his contract. This whole situation is absolutely fascinating, not to mention hilarious.

Yeah, Blazers management screwed up with the whole Miles situation. I understand that they were concerned about a team signing Miles just to screw with them, but there had to be a better way to handle this. This is the biggest PR blunder since the Jail Blazer days. It's sad because it shadows the progress the team has made this season.

(Fun fact time: the Grizzlies have a history of picking up former Jail Blazers - Bonzi Wells and Damon Stoudamire played for them, and there were rumor about a possible trade with the Knicks for Zach Randolph before he ended up going to the Clippers.)

Anyways, the whole thing makes me glad that the Brandon Roy was back on the court last night (and that the team beat the Warriors). It was good to read something about the Blazers that didn't have "Darius Miles" in the same sentence.

Did anybody catch the Lakers vs Heat game Sunday Jan 11?
Lakers looking good at the end of each game but made me cringe at the final moments.

Andrew Bynum with the put back to give the Lakers the lead. :applause:

I saw the end of it. My DVR fucked up and didn't record the rest. What I saw was typical of the 2008-09 Lakers.

The Bulls lost to Portland last night, but Luol Deng and, surprisingly, Kirk Hinrich are back. Let's see what the team can do now. 41-41, here we come!

Damn... where did this Von Wafer guy come from?

EDIT: Lakers win 105-100, toppling the Tracy McGrady-less Rockets and their Von Wafer/Carl Landry offensive juggernaut (seriously). Yao Ming was a whiny bitch.

The Bulls beat Toronto, 102-98. I'll finally get to see them on TV again tomorrow night, thank God, but they'll probably get raped by Cleveland.

The Lakers are having another highly entertaining offensive slugfest tonight, this time in San Antonio. It's 63-61 Spurs at the half.

Wow, Lakers lose on a strange call. Ah well both the Lakers and the spurs have had more than their share of calls go their way.

Man, that traveling call on the Lakers at the end of the game was such bullshit. But what a great game... LA comes back from 100-89, and finally loses 112-111 on an incredible and-one shot by Roger Mason. After seeing the Christmas day game vs. Phoenix and this one, Mason has to be one of the most clutch dudes in the game. And I agree with the announcers on ESPN (I watched it on there rather than KCAL)- that was the best game, start to finish, of this season.

Yea, what a game. Kobe with the clutch 3 pointer at the end had me going crazy.. But not that Bulls*** call with the traveling on Ariza. It was a foul beyond belief.:bomb: Yet the refs were blind to see that and choose the game again. The Lakers would have went home with the win. Ahh well the Lakers were under players for tonight's game anyway and played very well still.

Yeah it was a foul but this is the reason why I respect NBA refs over NFL refs. At the end of the game let the player decide the out come not the whistle. I think you have to be taken out of the air in order to get a foul in the last few seconds.

Step up and make a shot or lose. Its always been like that and it should continue to be like that. If Kobe would have taken that shot I think it would have gone in.

Whether he traveled or not he still missed that shot and it went right to Tim Ducan so they still would have lost possession.

The traveling call was bull but it shouldnt have been a foul either.

Funny calls in that game. I only saw the last 5 minutes so I didn't know the Lakers came back from a big deficit. Good game though.

From the Lakers. Well, he was cut by the Lakers after he got dunked OVER by Kirk Snyder, made his way in the Dleague and Summer league as a pure scorer and somehow ended up on the Rockets.

Once again, as good as Kobe is CP3 should have been MVP last year and he should be again this year.

Almost gets a quadruple double 31 points, 11 asst 10 rebounds and 7 steals as a damn PG! This guy is on another level and there isnt another PG in the league that can even come close.

Delonte West just got his head busted wide open on an uncalled foul he committed which took out both him and Derrick Rose. Rose is okay, though.

Oh, and Cleveland is actually wearing their red, regular, non-throwback unis! =-o

Magic @ Lakers Tomorrow Night. Superman FTW!

Hell of a game between the Bulls and Cavs. I almost have no fingernails left. The Bulls beat the team with the best record in the NBA in an overtime thriller. Well, it was a thriller until overtime, where the Bulls took control.

I missed most of the first period of the Kings game as a result, but all they did was give up 2 goals to the Red Wings, so I didn't miss much.

The Magic are playing some great ball right now. I'm still not sure if they can make it to the Finals, but I like them to make the conference finals if they can somehow miss Boston, Cleveland, and even Detroit.

Jameer Nelson is playing out of his mind, Courtney Lee is progressing well, and J.J. Redick is showing signs of life.

Lakers Shut Down. Magic Swept them for the first time in their 20 years of existence. Awesome game. Wish Turk would have showed up but with Jameer dropping shots the way he did it worked out in our favor.

Damn. The Lakers are putting themselves in way too many late game situations. I'm no Magic fan, but this should definitely quiet any doubts about them. They played a great 4th quarter.

Exactly, Everyone thinks that were not a good team. This proves otherwise, not to mention we are still the best road team in the league to boot.

Haha, that may be the case but he hustles and I think he is going to improve in time.

Ugh that was an ugly game, way not to show up tonight Suns. Bench players ended up being more efficient.

LA won that one, you know Big Ben was a good player on the Pistons he actually scored, even with their All-Star lineup. Now well he really doesn't do much, I wish the Cavs had a better bench, Szczerbiak is the only one I consider decent.

Anybody got predictions for the Championship? Another Boston/Lakers matchup? Celtics seem to be struggling a little bit this year, what gives? Losing to Charlotte, NY, and GS? Come on they should be wiping the floor with those teams.
Has anyone told Amundson he looks like a girl?
Looks like Mike Miller has a challenger for the girliest looking hair in the league.

I think Boston or LA could make it back into the finals, but one of the two isn't making it this year. And, IIRC, Charlotte and GS also beat the Celtics last season, so those losses weren't huge surprises to me.

Come to think of it, the Bobcats can be odd - they'll pull off an upset against a .500 team, then they'll go on to lose by 10 or so to a lottery team.

Yep. A little late but I caught the 4th quarter in a bar the other night and as a fan was quite pleased. They're a legit contender this year. Howard is a beast and Nelson has really stepped up at the PG spot, and they have a lot of scoring options on the court.

Wow, watching a NBA TV game and its simply sad. 2nd rate commentaries, 2nd rate analyst 2nd rate state overlays.

Christ the production of this is simply terrible. Hell god damn Eric Snow is one of the half time guys....who the hell cares about Eric Snow?

Alonzo Mourning retired today.

That Boston/Orlando game was pretty good from what I saw. I'm predicting the Lakers blow a 17 point lead to Washington before going on to win by 9 points.

The wheels are really coming off in Phoenix. We got massacred in Boston, then lost to the Knicks, and now the Bobcats are kicking our ass. Words can't describe how much I hate Terry Porter as a coach.

And you dont know what you got til its gone.

Poor poor Suns. J-Rich wasnt the savior you thought he was. (Seriously...J-Rich? Booo.)
Really easy to cheer for the Lakers tonight, but it's kinda boring it's so easy for them.
Yea, it was a good game though. Lakers were leading and never looked back to win against the Wizards. Shooting was definitely on point! The bench came out early in the 4th with 8:41 to go. That Cavs game was good to. Im glad the Lakers came out with the win.

Well off to play the SA Spurs Sunday.. I hope the Lakers win!

You know, I am getting sick of the Lakers being good. They are actually making me think that they could win it. On the bright side it will make their break down in the play offs even more hilarious. Damn.

As for NBA I actually dont have a solid team even though I support all Tennessee based teams the Grizzles.....or well.....the fucking Grizzles.

So I am more a fan of just plan good basketball other than the Laker since I hate them so much.

He's better then what Bell and Diaw were providing, so I'd say it was a good trade. I didn't expect him to be the savior like you claim though.

Naw, I doubt anyone thought he was going to be a savior I was just goofing with that. But I was always a fan of Diaw and I think Bell is under rated for what he provides.

But you are the suns fan and you saw more games than I ever could so you make the call.

I love Bell, as you can tell by my avatar. He's one of my favorite Suns of all time. The dude's got a ton of heart. Diaw on the other hand, he has amazing talent, but he just didn't bring it every game. He had one great season when Amare was out, and that was it. After that he'd have a couple of great games followed by twice as many bad ones. I am glad they're playing well in Charlotte though.
