The reason I went off about Rose is someone called him "the golden boy". That to me insinuates they think the league and media are overrating him and making him out to be better than he is, which I disagree with for the most part. The term "golden boy" is never used in a flattering way, just look at Tom Brady.

And yeah I agree I think it's time to move on now. We have fans of both teams that will never see eye to eye so why try anymore. As for the game tonight I am nervous about picking the Bulls as I can easily see them losing tonight. I actually am leaning toward the Celtics even though I am obviously rooting for the Bulls to force a Game 7.

You guys missed my point completely about knee pain. When you sprain your knee, you don't know what exactly you've done to it. You can't know unless you've torn ligaments before, and Pierce has never had a serious knee injury. You take all possible precautions until you know what it is.

Paul Pierce is a tough motherfucker. Yes, the stabbing is completely relevant since its proof of how tough he is. He played with the sprained knee in that series, he's played through a lot of injuries over his career. A Laker fouled him so hard last year that an entire fingernail of his came off, Pierce didn't blink an eye, didn't come out of the game. Pierce had his head slammed on the court, needed major dental work, did not come out of the game.

If you're going to call him a pussy based on the knee injury then you're either horribly misinformed or you're ignoring the facts that don't suit the opinion you want. You want Paul Pierce to be a pussy, to not be clutch, and to not be a top 10 player in the NBA. You're wrong.

Name a better small forward besides LeBron. Caron Butler? Please. There isn't a 2 guard better than him aside from Kobe and D-Wade. What would he do without KG or Ray Allen? He carried a team to the conference finals whose two best players aside from him were Antoine Walker and Rodney Rodgers.

Dafoomie....let it the fuck go already man. We got it, you think he his tough they think he is a pussy. Its not going to change.

Lets keep the thread 09 play off related.

I'm not sure if your post was directed at me or someone else but if it was directed at me, please stop putting words in my mouth to suit your argument. I don't WANT Pierce to be any of those things. I think he is clutch and a top 10 player in the NBA. I just think it was a joke that Pierce declared himself the best player after he just won his first championship after having 2 hall-of-famers added to the roster before that season.

Having said that I am tired of arguing, no one in here is going to be able to change each others' opinions.

Back on topic of the playoffs, is anyone else thinking the Magic should just not show up for game 6 and get ready for game 7?

I think the Magics are going to lose but beacuse Lee is gone not Howard. I think the Magic can win without Howard but they have to go through Lee to do so. Guy has been money towards the end of the regular season and these play offs. Since Howards elbow also took him out I dont see them winning the game.

I am hoping the Rockets can pull it off tonight, I wouldnt mind seeing Bulls win but would rather see the C's.

Either way...tonight is going to be one damn good day for basketball.

Can anyone explain to me why the Stackhouse foul in 06 is any different than the Rondo foul in this series? The only difference I can see is that Rondo plays in a market favored by the NBA and plays for an owner that keeps his mouth shut.

Seriously, Ryback we just move past this bullshit. You only have 2 options: The NBA love the C's so they get special treatment or It was simply a mistimed hard foul.

Pick one. Nuff said. For further thoughts review the last 5 pages.

So what do you guys think about missed Josh Smith dunk? Media is all over it talking about how it was hell on earth apparently. Other than him missing it badly I didnt really see a problem with it. Yeah the Heat players are going to be mad for trying to showboat but thats what you get when you lose by 30.

D-Wade is fighting for his life on the court and has no help what so ever. I read a article yesterday that was stating why the D-wade has the worst supporting cast in the NBA.

I don't see how the Josh Smith thing is even an issue other than basically making an ass of himself. If the Heat don't like it, stop him and his team. Anyway, hopefully the Heat put together a good team again sometime during Wade's career.

Don't believe everything you're told.

Damn Rondo is fucking up. He really should be ejected for trying to toss Hinrich into the scorers table.

You have to at least wait until the 3rd or 4th QRT for that type of mess.

EDIT:
Ok, its a flagrant 1 and I understand. Now before people bust a nut over it realize that its still the first qrt and no ref wants to throw out a superstar this early. Yeah, its special treatment but I am 100% confident that they would have done the same thing if Rose toss someone into the table.

The refs are calling this really strict early on trying to get a handle on it which I cant knock them for.

Alright Refs, I feel what you are trying to do and I respect it.

But no one wants to see a Mikki Moore vs Aaron Gray game. Scale it back just a little.
a. If contact committed against a player, with or without the ball, is interpreted to be unnecessary, a flagrant foul--penalty (1) will be assessed. A personal foul is charged to the offender and a team foul is charged to the team.

Obviously it was unnecessary, but wasn't Rondo's throw a little excessive too? I understand the thing about not wanting to get rid of him so early in a game, but Rondo's last 13 minutes or so of actual gametime have been questionable at best.
Can't wait for Dafoomies "well, hinrich shouldn't have gotten in his way, so it shouldn't be a foul" comment.:)
Hinrich was holding him and flopped when Rondo tried to free himself. I thought a technical each would've been fair, a flagrant 1 isn't much more than that.

Paul Pierce just got hit in the face by Thomas hard enough to make him bleed from the nose, no call. He's gushing.

That should've been a goaltend after that, too.

I'll give you that he was holding Rondo, but I don't think you can really say that Hinrich flopped with a straight face. It was definitely worthy of a flagrant.

Heinrich definitely sold it to a degree, but I wouldn't say it was a complete dive or anything. The action and reaction were no worse than each other, but a flagrant 1 is so marginally worse than just a technical that its not really a big deal.

Big Baby needs to actually be able to hit those jumpers he takes. It fine that he is a big man and wants to take them but its almost like a turnover because I have only seen him make like 4.

Work it inside until your jumper is more solid.

Bulls are letting them hang around though....they blew a 11 point game last time they better tighten it up and put a dagger in it now.

EDIT: And like clockwork the C's go on a 10-3 run taking away the Bulls lead. You are playing with fire bulls....you need to win this game now.

EDIT2: BOOOOOM!!! And just like that the C's are ahead with Ray and Paul on fire. Ben Gordan has let the refs completely take him out of the game, Rose lacks the leadership of a vet the rest of the cast seems lost.

Lets see if they can pull it together.

Did Miller just throw up a gangsign? [/falseoutrage]

Big Baby only gets those minutes because KG and Leon Powe are out. The alternatives are Mikki Moore and Brian Scalabrine.

Dude, seriously. Someone win the fucking game already..I actually wanted to watch the Rockets game. I agree with pitfall.....it doesnt seem that the OTs are a result of both teams being good but more so about both teams failing at closing.

Wow, way to flop on that one Miller. Perkins is a strong guy but no way he knocked you down with 1 arm while shrinking away.

Salmons is a superstar.....the Kings but be kicking themselves for letting him go.

The C's are waiting way to fucking long to attack the basket. Their last like 8 possessions had them standing around dribbling the ball until 8 seconds left on the shot clock then taking a bad shot. Once you run Allen off some screens and he cant get open Rondo or Paul should be looking to drive immediately, not standing around for the next 8 seconds watching the time tick away.

EDIT: Not to bring up old stuff but the announcer just mentioned when Gordon stepped out of bounds the last game. I dont know if they are on the "douche" list though.
Bullshit, that was absolutely a 3.

Now thats a fuckin 3.
That was not a fucking three, but damn, that last one was just unconscious. Unreal.

The Celtics are taking far too long to get into their offense.

Rondo standing there dribbling the ball until the shot clock gets under 10 is absolutely killing them.

Yeah, he is a big fat guy we all know that.

The C's are have not won yet because they are being really lazy in their offense. There is no reason why they shouldnt have shot 5-10 free throws by now. They seemingly have abandoned attacking the basket in favor of standing around watching each other for 17 seconds before trying hoist up a shot.

Rondo should be attacking like mad.
Is it just me or does Davis look a little on the "large" side and I'm not talking muscle...
He was fatter last year. He works out like a machine but he goes home and eats 3 boxes of Ho Ho's, Ding-Dong's, Yodels, and Cupcakes with his 5 pizzas.

I used to live near the Celtics training facility, the guy doesn't know the meaning of the word nutrition.
