Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

My shipment should get delivered today. I got Jamboree, Echoes of Wisdom, and Wonder just to have a third game. My local store has Brothership preowned with the case. I should be able to take Wonder today and swap it for Brothership, right?
When did you order those? I tried an hour after it was posted for brothership, Echoes of Wisdom and Paper Mario. But Brothership won’t ship to me then finally EoW finally went out of stock. I’m peeved but whatever. I wanted Jamboree but never seen it for shipping ofc.

I ordered the day B2G1 went live. I kept getting an error for Brothership when I combined it with other games, which is probably why my store has a copy. Had no issues getting EoW or Jamboree, but I didn't really want Wonder...had to have a third game though.

Well customer service was sure friendly in giving me 5k pts for not getting my monthly $5. Signed up (technically a renewal even if I hadn't been a pro member for months) on Sat night (11/30) and didn't get the Dec monthly amount.

I got my order today, and woo this one is a doozy, even for Gamestop. I think they reached a new low. No packing slip, two game cases without the games. And my new Pikmin game in taped up in a sandwich baggie. Silent Hill 2 loose. Stellar Blades case also looks like it took some crazy water damage like it was submerged.

Maybe your game came from one of the stores that flooded with raw sewage. (Yes, more than one last week.)

Where exactly did your package ship from?

I got my first batch of games in today. out of the 6 games I ordered, only one arrived without the original case. It was Tekken 8 on PS5 and the only other store that has it is 35 minutes away in another city. I could live with that.

I ordered a new copy of GTA V on PS5 to get free shipping on my second order and it looked like it may have been resealed as it looked different from other games I have. Not a big deal as I planned to return the game anyway.

Hoping my last three games show up complete tomorrow.

10% off Chase One4all gift card which includes Gamestop and Xbox as eligible merchants. Fortnite Crew just got revamped, so now all passes are included for the same low price of $12/m. $50 for $45 in points should last me 2025 if I skip mid months in-between seasons.

Just a friendly reminder to test/look over your games after you get them.

My Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart arrived with a literal defective sticker on it. I tried it and of course it didn’t work, was able to go get it swapped at a local GameStop thankfully.

Overall went 8/9 on cases/artwork with the only disc only being Catherine Full Body so I’ll take it.

Bleh GS either works great or sucks. I been trying for the past few days to get paper mario switch, brothership switch and Echoes of Wisdom Switch. Brothership showed pre-order for pre-owned. Then wouldn’t let me checkout. When it did, it said Echoes of Wisdom had only 2 copies left. When I just wanted 1. So it wouldn’t let me checkout. Finally when it did yesterday night, it automatically canceled my order and the rep I spoken to, try to claim I was lying in placing a order, then hung up on me. Another rep promised to get my trade in credit back on my card, so I can replace my order. Shocking! I couldn’t because she didn’t know how to do that apparently now, then told me to call in today to get my order placed with the right discount. The rep told me today she doesn’t have a option to give me the discount and I should’ve placed it earlier before disconnecting the call on me.

Also generally speaking what's the max trade in that PS5 dual sense has gotten with accessory bonus this past year.

Got a couple with PS5 bundle, and may forego trying to sell on FB marketplace if they've managed to get to >$40 TIV.

5 of my 50+ game order arrived. Only one incomplete. Metaphor ReFantazio, Echoes of Wisdom, Unicorn Overlord, Dragon quest builders arrived complete, Dragon quest monsters Dark Prince was cart only, but I'm cool with that.

Didn't go too crazy on the B2G1 this year, but so far 3 out of 4 have come with case and cover art. One in black case with no art. Two more coming in today.

Edit: got the last 2, both were complete so 5/6 complete. Definitely happy with that and much better than normal

My Astro Bot ended up being disc only which is a bummer because of the 3 I grabbed (Metaphor, Stellar Blade, and Astro Bot), Astro Bot was the one I’m most likely to keep indefinitely and not trade in eventually. Ah well, still a heck of a deal on them.

12/3 Update.

Looks like all the other titles are set to arrive on the 5th.

Not going to say all, but there's been a number of stores I've gone to that smell like piss.

Not like the employees probably care enough to clean the toilets, not clog the toilets, etc. intentionally.
Once seen (and smelled) a homeless guy monologuing at a GSA. Putrid person. Whole store became a biohazard zone.

Hope it's the same case for me lol already received 1 game with no artwork (crisis core ps5) and my 2 astrobot copies arrived today complete, the other without the dlc voucher. Waiting on madden, rise of the ronin and dragons dogma 2 ps5. Fingers crossed

I did a BOPIS order the other day and then cancelled it online later that day. So far, I haven't received a cancellation email or any type of refund back to my Paypal, but the order shows cancelled on my account. Has anyone else experienced this?

Out of the 12 games I've received so far, one nintendo switch game came in a black generic case, and one ps4 game came in a yellow envelope.

Still waiting on the last 3 games. One being Mario and Luigi Brotherhood "being held at the post office at the request of the customer". I never requested any hold, so I wonder if gamestop is trying to get it back. I'll drop by my local post office tomorrow to see what the problem is.

Call the store to see if the cancellation went through. If not, contact customer service. It may take a few days for the money to go back immediately

Shady stuff going down. I recently had a package get lost at the transition point between store and USPS for a month. USPS tracking just said 'not yet in system" until a few days ago.

Meanwhile, I've been calling customer service once a week following up on the refund they intentionally dragged out and still have not issued. First it their outsourced customer diservice team told me 3-5 days, then 5-7 days, the 7-9 days.. all in a delay of refunding a GC payment.

On the day USPS was going to deliver the package, out of nowhere that morning I see tracking changed to 'delivery attempted / customer refused shipment.". This of course never occurred at my address. I can't prove it but I strongly suspect gs contacted USPS and got them to change the status.

I had the exact same experience this week, order immediately went to “return initiated” I got the funds returned to my bank in 3 days, I definitely wanted the order and didn’t initiate a return.

After dropping by their office and talking to the employee, sometime the package end up on the wrong route or end their route without ever delivering the package, but they're still required to enter a reason why the package wasn't delivered (attempted delivery, held at post office, etc) and it'll eventually be delivered in a day or two... unless the package is lost.

So even though my Mario and Luigi Brotherhood is listed as held in office, the package itself is still on the truck to be delivered today. Hopefully it's the same with yours.

No, but I typically avoid doing anything other than a simple straightforward purchase online. Gamestop is just terribly, terribly unreliable for anything other than that.
And yet...some of us are having the most anti-consumer experience even after placing said online orders. This is partially the reason why I rather drive miles brick-n-mortar. Sure it costs me wear and tear as well as my sanity and lifespan...but I get to see what I'm actually going to buy and have ample time to make returns and/or exchanges while the B2G1F promo was active. Plus, I am extremely picky with my Pokemon cards like I am with Funko Pops. And that feeling of "Ooo! Just found something that even online doesn't have in-stock!"

I won gamestop roulette in the worst way this past week, I got a fake ps1 game from online order via Grapevine warehouse. Obvious fake looking at label and doesn't work in ps1 or ps2 system, unrecognized disc. Disc data layer is black, so that was interesting to make it look more legit. I am curious if it's a one off or more fakes in their sitting in their inventory.

I personally stopped buying retro from Gamestop.com after getting some fake SNES carts. It's just not worth the headache for me personally. The employees are just not trained (at all?) to spot fakes

I've had some amazing luck, but lately not so much. Talking with the employee where I returnd it basically said that training has been minimal, and some people working at stores weren't even born when some of these games were released, so they have no idea. They said they even got a fake ps5 game in once direct from the warehouse to their store. I assume same type of thing with fake disc with printed label.

Yeah I've gotten some pretty bad fakes, particularly the Pokemon GBA games. If you're like under 25 working there, you've probably never seen a GBA game in your entire life. So it's hard to blame them and I can understand. What I don't understand is some of the other stuff like accepting trade ins of the wrong region, that should never happen since you can spot the rating on the case and disc. I've gotten quite a few PAL/JPN games in the mail over the years.

Don’t underestimate outright apathy bordering on disgruntledness. The company severely underpays their employees for the amount of stress they put them through.

Whether it’s sales metrics bordering on being considered unpaid commission or cutting staffing so far back there’s often only 1 employee in the store at a time, which arguably even endangers their safety as an increased target for robbery.

Then a counterfeit game walks through the door and you can choose to avoid all conflict altogether by just taking it in and letting the company deal with the fallout? Well, why not.

Has anyone tried returning anything from their B2 G1 free haul yet? The order confirmation email seems to indicate that they would be reimbursed at their original non-sale price (aka buy 3 games for 29.99, each game would give back 29.99)
