Where is the weekly ad?
They ended the weekly ad for more rotation of deals. Please check the homepage and deal link for the current deals.

I can't find a trade in value for an item?
It might not be tradable or calling a store to find the value may be the only option.

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.

Are there trade limits?
Yes, $500 cash minus some electronic trade ins and or $2000 trade credit in a rolling 30 day period.

Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).


TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

Made like three transactions and now I can't do anymore it keeps saying I can't because of a "system decline"?

Also drained three gift cards the first time I tied

Edit: I guess I have to wait to receive the other orders to make another purchase on my account. Supposedly, maybe. Support was the usual.

Never use gift cards, trade credit, or online-only vouchers online. Without customer protection (a.k.a. credit card chargeback) for services unrendered, you're gonna have a really bad time let alone waste time with CS support. Better to use your funny money in-store in-person. GS is being very anti-consumer rn. Makes you reconsider rejoining Pro despite the temptations.

Yeah this happened to me during last year's BF. Doing three transactions within a short period of time will trigger the system decline. Couldn't place another order until the following day.

No reason why you can’t cag and work. Woke up at 6am, got ready, went to Gamestop and got my b2g1 madness in. I think 17/18 games were complete in case and cover art including 2 vita games. Then hit the pawn shops and got to work by 10am. Did pretty great!!!
 
The b2g1 worked out nice in-store for me. Unicorn Overlord $25, Dragon Quest Monsters: Dark Prince $25, and then Resident Evil 4 Remake for free. All with original cases. It's good to see them adjusting pre-owned prices to correspond with the sale price of new games again.
 
Hopefully some good finds, had $5 in points, got Rise of Ronin, Epic Mickey Rebrushed, and Dragons Dogma 2 for $65 after tax. I just wanted a few games went to another location and someone had a bag of at least 60 games, each section was picked bone dry. Made it to work early. Dude had a buy list on his clip board, I can’t say I am that intense on the b2g1.
 
I was able to use the $5 off Pro coupon and a $10 online reward code I had from before my Pro expired to renew for $4.99. I had to check out with Gamestop app and Apple Pay. Was rejected trying to use PayPal and CC on desktop.
 
all i wanted was star ocean for the switch and gamestops around me dont even have it but then again with only 3 locations left in manhattan NY i shouldnt be surprised. my best buys dont have them either

a lot of people start work way before 10 am. you have to take that into account

when my work routes (im an exterminator) start between 6-8 AM on a given day and i have time frames to follow for my accounts thats easier said than done. everyone has a different situation lol
 
Bought a few games for the jRPG backlog. I had to throw in RE4 new copy to bump it up for free shipping.

Went in to renew my pro to take advantage of the $19.99 price. Both my $5 coupon and buy a new game discount worked. Was surprised I got $10 for buying the game. Not bad

Maybe there was only one person working and they had to go to the bathroom or they were on lunch. Just call them during business hours and see what it says or if someone picks up.

Last year they had a $5 dollar bonus on 5 dollars games traded in. It happened mid December.

i think you might be misremembering, just looked through last years posts and saw no mention of it. though they did have a trade x get x the first week of december, that i believe got up to 50% extra. so there is a chance, but values are so low during this time it's a struggle.

either way, I misspoke in the fact that I meant it is rarely worth it to trade it at this time because after the holidays will have better trade values and the same or better trade promos. they really try to restock hard for all the gift card purchases

Yesterday I picked up Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion(PS5), God of War Ragnarök(PS4), and Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon(PS5) so I'm happy. Also traded in my controller that came with my PS5 towards a Galactic Purple one. My store had a 30th anniversary controller left but didn't want to spend $80.

Iirc, didn't last year have up to 50% trade-in bonus when trading in like 5 games?

Dang. Jamboree and brothership both sold out still. I CANNOT think of any other first party game to go with Echoes of Wisdom this season for this sale D: dang you gamestop!!

You could always just get a game that has a high trade-in value and then just play it and trade it in when the next promo is. Don't first part Nintendo games usually keep a good trade-in value?

I wouldn’t do that simply because you don’t know what stores they are planning to close at the beginning of next year. Wasting time & gas to trade in would suck.

They are closing all stores in Germany at the end of January.

Pretty much guaranteed they will be closing some (many?) US stores.

That's basically what I do with these deals. Didn't really want 3 games, but I wanted Sparking Zero, so instead of forcing myself to find two more games I'm just going to trade in Echoes and Mario Party to bring the price down to like $30
 
So signed up online for Pro again last night (for $14.99). It had lapsed for a few .onths and now my status shows as Pro but I'm wondering if I will still get the $5 sign up bonus. Also assume the $5 per month will start tomorrow?

There's a $5 they give you for auto renewing, which is technically not the same as signing up online, but I've found that I've been able to get that by calling customer service, playing dumb and simply asking for it.

I had this just happen to me. I was able to complete 3 or 4 orders before. I just traded in a few games recently, though, so that might have something to do with it. So I'll check back tomorrow.

Yea, if it's your first time, you get 5000 points.

If it's not, you can get 5000 points for auto-renewing, but as I said I've had luck simply asking for the points despite me renewing it manually.
