GS FAQ

Where is the weekly ad?
They ended the weekly ad for more rotation of deals. Please check the homepage and deal link for the current deals.

I can't find a trade in value for an item?
It might not be tradable or calling a store to find the value may be the only option.

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.

Are there trade limits?
Yes, $500 cash minus some electronic trade ins and or $2000 trade credit in a rolling 30 day period.

Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

first time trying to double dip on the $5 monthly pro, but its not working online.
I have used Google lens to copy text from a screenshot and it turned a zero into an "O", so that could potentially be the problem if that's how you are doing it. Sometimes it also adds a space to the end when you paste the code so try deleting the last character and retyping it

thanks, but not working for me still, says "Coupon cannot be added to your cart". Bummer.

It was $55 base store credit. The site has two white wii trade in listings, one for without wii motion plus and one with. I didn't have a wii motion plus and yet they still ring me mine as if it did.
They told me the needed: the console (with the SD card, gcn controller and gcn memory card covers), sensor bar, power brick, video cables, and wiimote. They did not require a nunchuk attachment. Since I was missing some of the slot covers, they deducted $7 from my trade in.

Add all that up that would be:
$55 base
$5.5 10% PUR bonus
$11 20% console trade in bonus
-$7 missing GCN slot covers
So $64.50 total store credit which I'm totally fine with
I might try and trade in the wii's stuffed in my closest. I only have offbrand controllers but if they give me like $30 I'll be happy.

got my next to last shipment of $15/$30 games. (all ps5) Sword and Fairy CE, Coffee Talk 1 and 2 all sealed. Goodbye World and The Caligula Effect 2 were Gnew. only have 1 more game on the way (Miasma Chronicles) not bad since none of these were available for shipping but i was able to force them into my cart.

My membership expires sometime in June and I don't think I'm renewing. I'll use up my remaining credit and last $5 coupon to help pay for my Switch 2 and that'll be that. I need to stop buying games that I have no intention of playing lol.

dont know if this means anything concrete, but I heard 2 gs employees discussing some ops memo telling them not to fulfill any orders for opened new games

Yea, saw the subreddit discussing this. Of course, you still have some employees that are blatantly going against it though. Basically they are okay with taking the risk of sending the copy out and hoping whoever gets it just sucks it up and keeps it rather than returning it. Whereas they're apparently tracked on the number of online orders they reject due to the game being gutted. Naturally, better to potentially piss off a customer than your superiors.

So just another vicious cycle that gets customers caught up in it as collateral damage lol
