They ended the weekly ad for more rotation of deals. Please check the homepage and deal link for the current deals.

Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

first time trying to double dip on the $5 monthly pro, but its not working online.
I have used Google lens to copy text from a screenshot and it turned a zero into an "O", so that could potentially be the problem if that's how you are doing it. Sometimes it also adds a space to the end when you paste the code so try deleting the last character and retyping it

thanks, but not working for me still, says "Coupon cannot be added to your cart". Bummer.

It was $55 base store credit. The site has two white wii trade in listings, one for without wii motion plus and one with. I didn't have a wii motion plus and yet they still ring me mine as if it did.
They told me the needed: the console (with the SD card, gcn controller and gcn memory card covers), sensor bar, power brick, video cables, and wiimote. They did not require a nunchuk attachment. Since I was missing some of the slot covers, they deducted $7 from my trade in.

Add all that up that would be:
$55 base
$5.5 10% PUR bonus
$11 20% console trade in bonus
-$7 missing GCN slot covers
So $64.50 total store credit which I'm totally fine with
I might try and trade in the wii's stuffed in my closest. I only have offbrand controllers but if they give me like $30 I'll be happy.

got my next to last shipment of $15/$30 games. (all ps5) Sword and Fairy CE, Coffee Talk 1 and 2 all sealed. Goodbye World and The Caligula Effect 2 were Gnew. only have 1 more game on the way (Miasma Chronicles) not bad since none of these were available for shipping but i was able to force them into my cart.

Traded in my console and the last of my games, finally all done now

Can't see myself ever bothering with flipping ever again unless those coupons roll out again, these past few weeks were insane

dont know if this means anything concrete, but I heard 2 gs employees discussing some ops memo telling them not to fulfill any orders for opened new games

Yea, saw the subreddit discussing this. Of course, you still have some employees that are blatantly going against it though. Basically they are okay with taking the risk of sending the copy out and hoping whoever gets it just sucks it up and keeps it rather than returning it. Whereas they're apparently tracked on the number of online orders they reject due to the game being gutted. Naturally, better to potentially piss off a customer than your superiors.

So just another vicious cycle that gets customers caught up in it as collateral damage lol

My membership expires sometime in June and I don't think I'm renewing. I'll use up my remaining credit and last $5 coupon to help pay for my Switch 2 and that'll be that. I need to stop buying games that I have no intention of playing lol.

I wish I had your willpower... I almost didn't renew August last year because I just didn't see myself using the monthly $5 certs but eventually decided to just keep it for one more year. I've ended up buying at least one thing to use the cert on (that I wanted to buy, not just to use the cert) so it was worth it. August is coming up again in a few months and I'll have to decide again.

They closed down all the GameStops near me. Closest one is about 25 min away. Mine expires this June. I won't be renewing. Also, I realize I waste so much time looking to use these coupon on something.

Often times I don't find it worth it to use it on something when I have to drive almost an hour there and back just to save $5. I have to make it a longer ordeal and hit up other places in the area to make it worth it.

Anyone's gamestop getting more picky? Took a 2DS in I got for cheap and it had a very small scratch on the screen and the guy said they don't take any older systems if they have ANY scratches. The system worked perfectly, no issues. Took it to a second location and was also denied for the same reason. This thing came out what 12 years ago? How can they expect it to be 100% perfect condition

GameStop decided they might have a hard time selling it as new.

A few ok flips for games that are $15 new or $13.99 pre-owned at as part of recent sale using switch 2 game preorder bonus:

Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE - Nintendo Switch - $15, $22.50 with 50% bonus
EA SPORTS FC 25 - Nintendo Switch - $11, $16.50 with 50% bonus
BANISHERS: Ghosts of a New Eden - Xbox Series X - $14, $21 with 50% bonus
Tekken 8 - Xbox Series X - $11, $16.50 with 50% bonus
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War - PlayStation 5 - $12, $18 with 50% bonus
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III - PlayStation 5 - $12, $18 with 50% bonus
EA SPORTS FC 25 - PlayStation 5 - $11, $16.50 with 50% bonus
Reynatis Deluxe Edition - PlayStation 5 - $18, $27 with 50% bonus
Theatrhythm Final Bar Line - Nintendo Switch - $11, $16.50 with 50% bonus

I traded back in my copy of Reynatis since it was gutted anyway, that's probably the best one of the bunch. XSX games part of b2g1, so if you happen to find them in store today, could be better.

How long will the 20% extra on console trade last? I have a PS5 Slim that I’ll be trading in toward my Switch 2 pre-order. I won’t make it to the store until tomorrow.
Promos typically end Saturday unless they are extended for another week. I haven't seen an official end date for that one so it's hard to say for sure, but always safest to get everything in by close Saturday

My closest GameStop closed but I will be by one today. Was wondering other than trade deals, if there was anything worth looking for sale or clearance wise since I don’t get there often

It is very freeing to not renew. I didn’t renew since they closed my closest Gamestop. No more trying to justify driving to use the monthly $5.

Is there any kind of deal worth trading in my copy PS4 Tetris effect? Last day to use my $5 coupon and I'm really not feeling any desire to drive to the store to use it unless I can get a good trade-in with this game. Last I checked it trades in for like $6.50. I probably could sell it local on marketplace for 10-15 bucks. The PS5 version is on sale right now for $15.99 if you have PlayStation Plus and it works for psvr2 so I'm just going to get that digitally and sell my disc or trade it in if there is a good deal going on.

Nintendo must have severely overestimated the demand for Mario RPG. This was on sale for $20 like a month ago and they couldn't even clear the excess stock at that price.

I think this is more an instance of GameStop not keeping track of their promos--$20 off the $50 MSRP would make more sense as a typical deal, but thanks to SMRPG still being part of the $15/$30 promo, they're stacking. I wouldn't be surprised if this gets fixed in a day or two, but I also wouldn't be surprised if it didn't.

I do wonder what the full story is behind all the sales. Because out of the three Mario RPGs released in the past year, it's actually sold the most out of them. And yet it's the only one that's clearly crashed hard with retailers seemingly in a rush to get rid of it. You'd think it was a Mario Rabbids game or something.

I wish Paper Mario TTYD would hit these bargain bin prices lol.

Can anyone double check if 20% off used games is working?
Added a console to cart, then $120 in used games.
It only shows $12 discount, should be $24 or 20%.

What's funny about Mario RPG is this is the kind of game no one buys right now but as soon as the new copies are finally gone it'll sit at $55 preowned and people will actually buy it lol. It's like how Metroid Dread and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl were.

I feel a pang of annoyance given the price I originally paid for it
and buying it on the Wii U right before the remake was announced lmao
, but oh well, at least it's a game I actually beat instead of it just sitting in my backlog forever. Even got to say I flipped it the one time.

But whether it's $15 or now $10, doesn't matter to me. Can very safely say it's not a game I ever want to return to, game was a lot more basic than I expecting after hearing about all the nostalgia for it over the years. I'll stick to being a TTYD fan instead.

I got it as my 'free' game from a B2G1 sale with Zelda TOTK and Mario Wonder. I finished it and enjoyed my time with it, but I can see why it didn't have any legs. Very short, virtually no replay value and the gameplay is basically unchanged so people who don't care for SNES era gameplay won't find any appeal.
