I watched the first episode of Kiba yesterday and it has got my interest. I went in rather skeptical, but gave it a shot anyway, and I like it.
I was really surprised how good the writing gets on Kiba. I thought it was hella lame at first, but then I was totally hooked to the end. My wife really dug the show as well. You just really can't predict some of the twists and turns the series takes. Enjoy!

I thought it was a pretty cool thing to mention that Funimation is teaming up with Toei to stream 7 of their shows on their website putting full series up uncut and subtitled at a time, one show a week. The shows include Digimon Adventure 02, Air Master, Captain Harlock, Fist of the north star, Galaxy Express, Pretty Cure, and Slam dunk. I am curious about DA02 uncut, and one other show that will remain namesless. Also Funi has also put up the first episode of the new Full metal alchemist show up subtitled as well.

On a random side note Mandalay pictures has picked up the film rights to Full Metal Panic, and Zac Effron wants something to do with it. I was worried at first that he might play Sousuke, but it would make more sense with him as Kurtz Weber. (if his being in a movie based on that makes any damn sense at all) n/m someone already mentioned it. Oh well.

Funi is growing perhaps too quickly for my liking. I don't want to see another localizer tank like ADV, though Funi certainly has better backing than ADV did.

Are you sure they're being put up uncut and subbed? I know Toei already streamed all of these from a site of their own, and at least DA02 was dubbed. I'd rather see the first season and Tamers uncut.

I tried watching Pretty Cure before. I found it pretty boring. It was Sailormoon-like, but not as interesting.

Chibi according to Animenewsnetwork they will be uncut and subbed. I would prefer Tamers or savers uncut, but 02 had its good points (like the sexually confused/confusing Selphymon). Here's the link to the article. I think we should just be glad we're getting ANY Digimon subbed. Okay I stand corrected that animenews didn't say it, but I really doubt that they were able to get the rights to the dub away from disney's greedy little paws. Ah, here it is on animeondvd.com at this site Also, Lonepig, it seems they didn't have to buy the rights to these shows, they're instead just being loaned them to put up subbed on their site in return for the money they rake in from advertising, so they seem to not actually be spending any of their own money, aside from the money to host the shows. (but I could be wrong) Oh, yeah, the dub for sasami club is hilarious. I honestly thought I would dislike the show (and I like Tenchi), but the dub makes it very enjoyable.

I finished Noein last night. I loved it! It has a unique art/animation style, an amazing soundtrack, and a magnificent story. Plus all the the characters are developed really well; I even came to like this character that in the beginning I disliked. I cannot recommend it enough. I just wish it had not ended, haha, I was really enjoying watching it.

Also I finished the first volume of the Nausicaa manga. The manga is a lot more mature than the movie and there are a lot of differences in the story—which is a good thing because it has kept me interested. I love the art in it; it is so detailed. Oh and Nausicaa herself is an amazing character; I love her.
I have been riveted by Gankutsuou. What a refreshing and vibrant change in anime.
I just started watching it. The visuals are unique, that's for sure.

Naruto manga thoughts :
While i realize the story needed to be told I didn't expect Naruto to flat out ask Pain hey whats your deal man? Talk about awkward story telling.

Bleach Manga thoughts :
That was one long death scene. Yami is revealed to be the strongest......... talk about out of the blue here, Ichigo damn near killed him without trying way back when .

Naruto and Bleach out of filler yet? Haven't watched them in awhile

Has anybody watched any of Eden of the East that's airing now? The second episode came out a couple days ago, and it seems pretty interesting from the first 2 episodes.

An amazing show, and one of my favorites.

I finished Gankutsuou and it was awesome. I definitely recommend this to all the anime CAGs who haven't watched it. The less familiar you are with the Count of Monte Cristo the more fun you'll have watching it.

I wonder how long this "flashback" is going to take :p
I started reading Liar Game, and wow, it's crazy.
Feel free to watch the live action. It's pretty good.
I finally broke down and watched 5 Centimeters per Second. It was good even though, I'm a little upset over the ending.
I love that movie. Makes me sad though

I was able to sit through 4 eps of Red Garden and I gave it up. It seemed like a really shitty Gantz with poorly drawn girls. I guess thats Gonzo for you.

I've been getting a craving to watch Gungrave again, so ill probably start that one up tomorrow. It's an incredible series that is definitely worth watching, don't let the fact that its based on a shoot-em-up game discourage you.

I'm just about down with Black Lagoon and having a great time with it. I get kind of annoyed with how dumb some of the tactics of the shootouts are and such, but there's still a lot of entertainment to be had.

Gungrave was really good. I was quite surprised at the quality of that show.

I just looked the movie up and it sounds awesome. However, the damn thing is out of print—of course! And people are selling it for ridiculous prices on Amazon; I hate people.

It was seriously only in print for like a month. That's why I said I "broke down," I watched it in a nonDVD fashion. I was trying to wait to either find a cheap-ish copy of the DVD or see if it gets rereleased.

Wow, that is a shame. I guess I might just have to settle for renting it from Netflix and hope one day that it gets re-released.

Just finished watching Saint Seiya from Episode 1 to Hades. Might watch movie 3 but will likely skip the others.

I just finished watching Best Student Council. This has got to be one of my favorite anime series so far. I love all the characters; it is kind of sad that I won't get to see any new adventures with them. Yet, Best Student Council has one of the best endings I have seen; the story was wrapped up nicely and the state at which the show ended means that there doesn't have to be anymore episodes—however, that would be amazing if there were.
Is this a good deal? (Didn't want to make a thread about this)

49 discs of DBZ. 200, I wouldn't pay, but I'd like to lowball him just for kicks. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/emd/1143226904.html
he has all the worst episodes.. i only liked the first 50 or so episodes, and that's pretty much all he's missing. maybe he's keeping those and selling only the crappy episodes.

Was that the anime that starts out like a sports show then turns into Dragonball Z? I watched the first few episodes on Cartoon Network a few years ago and forgot to look into the rest of the series.

Really? It looked crappy to me, but it was $3/dvd at TSRI once, maybe still is, i might have to look into it.

I'm about to finish School Rumble, and i was wondering what other anime series' are as loveable as this one.

You could try Azumanga Daioh or Kodocha.

Well, I haven't seen School Rumble, Azumanga, or Kodocha; although, I have heard great things about them. I was skeptical of Best Student Council at first, but after watching the Read or Die OVA I was in the mood for a happy anime. Best Student Council was in my Netflix instant queue, so I decided on watching that.

At first I was not expecting to like it as much as I did, but the characters are so well defined. The show has a great structure where it will dedicate an episode to discovering more about a certain character.

Not only did I find the show funny, but the show had me smiling a lot; it also left me in a happy mood. I think that anything that can do something of that magnitude has some value and importance. Also the show is able to do some serious bits extremely well.

I don't know. Maybe you won't like it as much as me, but you should at least give it a chance. Haha, it would be nice to have someone else to talk to about the show.

Back in the day, it was a requirement for anime fans to have seen Azumanga Daioh.

Now, I don't know what's become of the fandom anymore... :(

Yes. And I don't care how cheesy it is. The sheer absurdity of the show is what makes it so fun to watch.

We have to wait till July for chapter 6 :(

I had some extra cash that I wasn't expecting, and I used it to buy Welcome to the NHK. I've been wanting to see this for quite some time.

I am 12 episodes into the series and I love it so far. Chris Patton does a great job portraying Sato—it may be his best role that I have seen so far; although he does do a great job in Kanon as well. The reason it is so great is because it is hilarious and because of how easy it is to relate to. Wait a minute; I am not implying that I like gal games, haha. It's just that the culture that Sato is immersed in by being a hikikomori is a very extreme and twisted version of being a video game/anime fan.

I started Gantz last night. I knew nothing about it at all except I liked the Rip Slyme song.

Holy shiznit. WTF is going on in this show?!?!?!!
CRAZYTOWN LIVES.

Azumanga is epically awesome.
Kodocha (which I can only assume is Kodomo No Omacha) is a terrible show that is definitely nowhere near as good as Azumanga.
School Rumble was pretty lame as well.
