Score only matters if multiple people pick the same team.
In other words, you have a choice, if you see two people have picked indy, you can pick as third. But,
A) Indy HAS to win
and
B) You have to be closest to the actual score as a total.
Alternatively, you could pick a different team that no one else has picked. Still post a score. But if no one else picks it, they just need to win out.
So it's a weighing. Do I pick what everyone else is picking because I know they'll win, but I may lose on the points matchup. Or do I pick another team for an upset or that's a closer match because no one else has picked them. If you're the only player that has picked a team, then all that matters is that team must win.
If four people pick Indy and Indy loses, all four lose.
The team MUST WIN and IF MULTIPLE PEOPLE pick the same team then a single winner is DECIDED BY SCORE.
Also, remember that deadlines are still in effect,. So you can change your team, your score, whatever, up until the closing deadline. Again, it's not a hard deadline. it's up until I say the pool is closed.
Let me put it another way. Say we have six people left by the first playoff weekend. If everyone picks Indy AND they win, then someone is going to win the pool that weekend based on score. If indy lost, everyone would survive until the next week since everyone lost.
At least with this rule, it promotes an eventual single winner. It also prevents too much team crowding. because with eight teams, it doesn't make as much sense for everyone to pick the same team. So I expect the picks to be spread between two or three teams with acouple head to head matchups based on score.
Also, remember, if everyone loses, then everyone survives to the next week. So if there's a major wildcard upset weekend, it's possible everyone will make it to the next week.
But this is the first time reaching the playoffs so thios is still a bit of an experiment.
Who said we last til playoffs? There are still 2 weeks left.

Haha, anyways I am switching my pick over to the Houston Texans. After Detroit's showing against the Colts I realize they are desperate to win.
