So do we have a consensus on how easy it will be to exchange these games for games coming out AFTER the sale? vs just getting $33 and change in store credit?

i seem to just found this out, can anyone solidify the sale for me. So its buy ANY 2 $50 games and ANY game for free? Please correct me if im wrong.

Um, I dont feel like reading through 26 pages, so can anyone tell me if this includes PC games? Or does TRU even sell PC games...? If not then I'll pass on this.

Yes, it is a legit sale. As for the deal, it's buy any two games, get a third of equal or lesser value for free. Buy two $50 games, get a game $50 or less for free, for example. In store, it is multi/cross-platform, so you can mix and match systems.

A mid thread FAQ:

The GT glitch is still active and can be used in this sale.

Quote:
GLITCH:
If you buy two green tagged games, and a third game that is the same price (before discount), the non-GT game rings up free if its scanned last. Basically, it ignores the green tag discount until after the B2G1F is settled.

So for example, I could bring up TimeSplitters: FP ($50 GT), Chaos Theory ($50 GT), and Battalion Wars, and if they ring them up in that order, Battalion Wars would be free.

Apparently so?

There is no price limit on this sale (ex. you can still purchase the $19.99 and under games)
Sources say yes?

There is a '$10 off $50 purchase' coupon in Sundays paper which may or may not be used with this sale.
Es muy bueno!!!

A mob of soccor moms and 35 year old Comic Book Shop Guys will be struggling for victory at 9:00am when the doors open as to who gets the most copies of Triggerman and Trivial Pursuit to put in their eBay store.
Nah they got em all at the b2g1free $19.99 and under sale. why, weren't you there?

all correct? corrections? corleone? SONNY NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This guy had a good FAQ.

read the title...

ps. TRU does sell pc games :)

I've asked this before but didn't get a reply. What Sunday paper are you talking about for the coupon, is it just the local paper where I live?

I'm not sure about this coupon, but a friend of mine got one in the mail sent to him which is for $10 off a purchase of $50. It excludes video game hardware, but doesn't say anything about games, so I'm hoping it'll work towards the sale. We'll soon see.

Cant wait for this sale, my 3 picks are socom 3, zatch bell mamodo battle and gundam seed neverending tomorrow, add the ten dollar off coupon for even better savings.
Hey, I'm sorry if this has already been answered (my comp is too slow to read all the replies) but is this going to be online? Thx!
Last year the sale was on-line but was limited to select games and you couldn't mix and match across systems. (i.e. buy 2 PS2 games get 1 PS2 game free)
Is this 100% true?? I didn't see it on the 'Store Policy' section of their website.

I will be babysitting all weekend, and I thought I could but three (or six) games tonight to help pass the time. But only is I know I can definitely get the adjustment next week.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

For what it's worth, I got my question answered. The manager at my local TRU said that price adjustments would be made for any purchase of 3 or more games (on the same receipt) made no more than 14 days prior to the sale. You just need to bring back the receipt, not the games.

This was at the TRU at Robinson Towne Center in Pittsburgh, PA.

Might be worth shopping on Saturday, especially if your local TRU is pretty thin on stock, as mine was.

Peace,
Max

I'm getting Blitz: The League, Resident Evil 4, and SSX On Tour. Hopefully all in stock. Im going next Saturday. They better have RE4 by then.

Has anyone tried PM' at BestBuy or Circuit City last year? I'm thinking about just either straight pricematching the games on Sunday OR buying the games, then pricematching plus the 10% off at Circuit City (not sure if BB does the 10% as well), then returning the games at TRU. I hope that all made some sense.
Ive got a Toys B Us nearby, but I think they hoard the good stuff....
Actually, a new addition to company policy was issued last week. Hoarding items, especially hot items, is a fireable offense. All new merchandise must be on the floor and readily available to customers for one full day b efore associates can purchase them.

I'm sorry please excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is a price adjustment? I read somewhat about it a few paeges back but still don't understand it. I figure it has something to do with returning the games later, but how would I do that and how would I request a price adjustment?

They have said that off and on to employees forever. I remember one night in 95 before christmas one of the managers was pissed because some cut 100 cases of hot wheels to get the treasure hunts. He was pissed because he didn't get there first.

Same night the store had about $6000 in sales about 30 minutes after closing. 200 tickle me elmos pulled off the truck at about 12:15 and put into employees cars. Tickle me elmo was the big hit that year and went for anything from $100-$200.

Hm... going to have to buy my three tommorrow, since I, unfortuantely, have to work all day Sunday (8 to 5) and will have no chance to hit up a TRU.

Gonna grab The Warriors, Dragonball Z, and Fire Emblem.

I wanted Tony Hawk's American Wasteland but the reviews were only so-so... I can wait until it gets real cheap.

Did anyone ever figure out what day TRU gets new releases? I know Spartan, Soul Calibur 3, and Resident Evil 4 all ship on the 25th... should I expect them at TRU on a Wednesday (26th) or more along the lines of Thursday - Friday?

hey just curious can i do the b2g1 free sale and then return when the game i want comes out? i heard kingdom hearts is coming out in december at least that what it says on the tru site.

Kingdom hearts 2 wont be coming out this year. Gamestop has it at 3/1/06, and thats just a placeholder date because they dont actually know.

Has someone that actually works at TRU confirmed that you can do this:

Buy 3 games today and get the price adjusted next week?

Buy your 3 games, keep one unopened, and return it later in the week for a game that comes out this Wednesday without having a hassle?

I've seen a few people say they're doing that but want to be sure you can before putting $150 down today.

I just went ahead and called my local TRU. Yes, you can buy everything today and get the price adjusted next week. And, yes, you can buy a game you don't want today and trade it for a game that comes out later as long as it's not opened of course. I didn't ask how long you could hold the game because the game I want comes out this week so I won't be holding the game I don't want more than a few days.

A few more hours and I'll be playing Fire Emblem and Mario Baseball :)
Fire Emblem is really good. :D
Indeed. As is Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Ninja Gaiden Black, Capcom Classics Collection and Street Fighter Anniversary Collection.

What a haul!

I still haven't opened X-Men Legends 1 and Burnout Revenge.
Where the heck is Fable: Lost Chapters...
I didn't see it listed online. Depending on what happens, I may have order the games I want online because of getting to TRU on Sundays is a chore and a half. It sucks because I wanted to mix and match some Xbox and GC games and last time I went the Monday after, everything was bare....

Either way, I'm still golden.

Posting the titles I want so I know where I wrote them down at ;):

+ BattleField 2 (Xbox)
+ Call of Cthulhu (Xbox)
? The Sims 2 (Xbox)
? Spartan: Total Warrior (Xbox)
? Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (Xbox)

I have to work all day Sunday, sadly, so I decided to take some ideas from some other CAG's in this thread and go today. Got Fire Emblem, Dragonball Z: Tenkaichi, and The Warriors... I'll head on down Sunday on my lunch break to do a price adjust, no hassles.

They didn't even have many of the titles I listed to begin with, so I'm lucky I went today.

And about my TRU question, the employee I know there who is knowledgable told me that new games will in Wednesday if they ship Tuesday, they just have to wait for the UPS truck to show up.

I've heard bad things about this game from people who have played it at E3. Supposedly it's not very fun.

You know what is being released this week and i had no clue about? Mario DDR! :whistle2:o
So now i might get:
Fire Emblem
Mario DDR
Mario Baseball
Batillion Wars
X-men Legends 2(Xbox)

2 of the 5 have to go...i didnt save as much money this year for it like i did for the last 3 years lol

I loved it at e3. Its like dynasty warriors, but somehow better, in a better setting

Quick question, if I order online and 1 game offers free shipping does it apply to just that game or all 3?

EDIT: Do you have to pay shipping on the free game?

Unfourtunately, Toys'R'Us is missing some of the games I wanted, so I have to order them online. Will the coupon code be advertised or will it magically appear on here by midnight?

You know there really isn't a point to buying during this sale.......... about 90% of the games drop to about $30 after a month or so ( and especially when the Xbox 360 gets released in a month)

I don't recall, did Warrior Within (GC) drop to $20? If so, I think I'll pick that up with two Dead to Rights 2s. I just started Sands of Time, and I'm enjoying that.

Just going to get it taken care of today as I will be stopping by a second TRU later, so I will need to know if D2R2 is in stock at my local one or if I need to buy it at the other. Then just get it adjusted tomorrow and trade in at my BB for $54, throw it on a gift card, good to go.

It did, I think, but it's not worth it. Nothing like Sands of Time.

I got this Sunday's TRU Ad and the Buy2 get 1 free is on the front cover. There was no pricing restrictions so you can just get $20 and Green Tag games if you want. I usually get $50 games with this sale, especially the recent releases that I really want to play and don't want to wait months before they hit $30. Happy shopping everyone.

We have similar tastes. Your first three titles are the ones I'm getting. If there was a 4th game in this deal, Batallion Wars would be it for me too.
