TNA has added a "Four Ways To Glory" ladder match to Destination X - it'll be Daniels, Kazarian, Red, and Kendrick battling for presumably the #1 contender spot for the X Division title.

I can't help but think that kind of match a) needs more promotion that being announced on TNA's YouTube show and b) is kind of pointless on a show that includes Ultimate X as well.
Truth: The promos TNA uploads to YouTube and doesn't show during their Impact broadcasts are usually informative, stylish video packages that would serve them better if they aired them on TV instead of tossing it aside and onto the Internet.
turning Christian messes with NXT and him being the face mentor for Slater.
1) ehhh, I can see your point. You don't want to overload the show with mentor/mentee conflict. Miz and Danielson are doing it well enough.

2) Nobody gives a fuck about Heath Slater.
2) Nobody gives a fuck about Heath Slater.
From his voice to the way he speaks and moves, he is, by far and away, my least favorite person on WWE's active roster--and that's quite an accolade. Sure, there's Darren "Fake Alfalfa" Young, some of the women, and Mike Knox--but Darren Young will be a nice addition to CM Punk's faction, the women have their looks, and I rarely see Mike Knox on TV.

I sorta hope someone, somewhere starts a "Die Slater, Die" chant. Maybe then they'll change his gimmick and look; possibly give him a manager to speak for him.

TNA's X-Division Epics special that they've been promoting recently (last Impact, they said it'd be immediately before Impact this coming week) has been moved again - it'll now air Tuesday, March 16th at 11PM.

In a sad bit of news, Mo from Men On A Mission has been diagnosed with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). He's in need of a kidney transplant and is currently collecting donations for the surgery.

Yes! I normally don't care about the diva photo shoots, but I'd like to see one of her.
He reminded me more of a mixture of Rick Rude and Curt Hennig.

Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, Frankie Kazarian, Hernandez, etc.
I was thinking someone who had been in TNA since the first 2 years. Styles, Roode, Storm, Daniels(?), Kazarian(?), Young. I can see an argument for Joe although his long tenure in RoH makes that disputable. Hernandez? Eh, I guess so, but if he's included then a case could potentially be made for Homicide as well. Kazarian's WWE "run" doesn't count since, IIRC, he never even made it off of Velocity.

Heath Slater's mother concurs.

They're really stretchingbfor HOF inductees this year. Bob Eucker, who you won't remember from WMIII, is getting in. I prefer his work announcing for Rick "Wild Thing" Vaughn instead.

Didn't know he was still alive. They have gotten a ton of mileage out of that great clip of Andre throttling him.

I liked Botchmania 122 with the Silver Surfer music. Every time i hear that music i now think of Leon Spinks.

So awesome.

Triple H and Undertaker have buried everyone else, so why not zombies? And now Cena can finally no-sell a cheetah.

I remember reading the plot of that comic book. Something about WWE superstars being decedents of ancient warriors or something. Something straight out of 1995 WWF booking...

Eh. I haven't followed a comic book since "Preacher" was still a monthly serial, so I'm out of the loop. That said, here's what I think WWE is doing: taking a cheap, cheap, really motherfuckin' cheap entree into a new media avenue. They'll sell enough to turn a profit, no doubt. That's the goal: make money, all quality and effort be damned.

It's the same thing they did with their film line. Low-budget, straight to video, scripts and actors not worth half a fuck, but *easy* to make money on as long as you've got brand-loyal marks out there. And they do turn a profit on their film line.

That's not hard to see.

The WWF comics from the Attitude era that were done by Chaos ranged from oddly passable (Undertaker series, Mankind one-shot) to laughably awful (Austin, Chyna). That said, the cover of that one above guarantees I'll pick it up if I can find it.

These are "Titan" branded so I guess they're doing them on their own this time, which should ensure they're especially terrible. Reminds me of the WCW "Nash" comic where Kev was in charge of overthrowing evil corporations to feed the hungry. In the future.

iamjericho
list of items i was pelted with in the ring tonight: Ice, water bottles, beer, popcorn, quarters, assorted garbage and a d size battery
which left an awesome welt. Seems like the fine people of san francisco went shopping before the show...

Not too many heels can still get that kind of reaction out of a crowd.

That comic won't come close to matching the awesomeness of the one with Ultimate Warrior and Santa.

I went to my second Empire Wrestling Federation show in Riverside tonight. They don't often run shows here despite being based out of San Bernardino, which is 15 minutes away. It was a pretty good show for $10. The standout stars were former cruiserweight champion Chris Kadillak, who I saw wrestle at the last show I attended, and heavyweight champion Ryan Taylor. And, on a random note, there was a crew from a New Zealand TV station there since a wrestler from NZ was on the card, and they interviewed me for some documentary about wrestling.

I actually own the Warrior comic that came with a WWF magazine (with Warrior on the cover, of course) during his "return" to face Lawler/HHH (I forget which one it was at the time).

I've been getting messages from Consequences Creed on MySpace. Yes, it is legitimately him. I found his page this morning (or late last night; not sure which) and sent him a message:
Hey man, I just found your MySpace via your Twitter page. Even though it was a year and a half ago, I wanted to say thank you for being so friendly when I met you in October 2008 at the Ontario, California house show. You were awesome. Hope to see you and Lethal on TV a lot more often in the near future!
No problem man. You used punctuation and spelled all of the words correctly so it kind of threw me off. I'm not used to messages of that calibur on myspace haha

Yeah, some guys can be pretty cool on myspace/facebook and such. Human Tornado was like that for a little while too, I haven't really messaged him in the last year or so though since I don't check myspace much at all anymore.

I actually used to chat with Joey Ryan on TalkCity (if any of you are familiar with that site, kudos to you) back while he was training to become a wrestler. Everyone we chatted with made fun of him and doubted him (myself included) and it was all just a big joke that he'd ever become much of anything in the wrestling business, but he's doing well for himself, especially considering his size. I still talk to him every now and then. He invited me to a show or two when he was on the East Coast while I was living in PA, but I never took him up on his offers since my work schedule at that time was utter hell - so I can't say I've ever met him in "real life". Via chatting over the years he seems like a real cool guy though. He's worked hard to get where he's at and deserves every bit of it. (/end late night rambling)

Yeah, Creed was really cool in person, which was why I contacted him on MySpace. As for Joey Ryan, I met him the day before SummerSlam 2009 at the XPW 10th Anniversary Show in LA. Just after we got in, I saw a dude with a mustache, wearing flowery trunks, at the bar. I went up to him and introduced myself. He was cool.

We later saw him that same night at the Mick Foley/Colt Cabana standup comedy show at the Hollywood Improv. There were a lot of guys from XPW there. We sat next to GQ Money. Said hi to Daniels on the way in. Then, following an awesome comedy show where we were close enough to rest our feet on the side of the stage, we ran into Joey Ryan again and also met Colt Cabana.

The night before WrestleMania this year, after the Hall of Fame ceremony has ended, me and the same guy I went to SS with are going to another Foley/Cabana standup special. Hopefully, they won't recycle any material- well, except for Mick making his entrance to Billy Gunn's "Ass Man" theme- but we got VIP tickets so we get a meet and greet with Foley following the show.

Yeah, it's something like that, 2 brothers that have a rivalry and now the one brother believes that his brother has been reincarnated to be one of the WWE Superstars. I've had a copy of issue 1 sitting on my desk at work for about a month now, I just can't bring myself to read/finish it.
Not too many heels can still get that kind of reaction out of a crowd.
Awesome inventory of missiles. The obvious call for WM is Edge beating Jericho more or less cleanly with the running hug for the title. I hope WWE mixes it up somehow. I don't care if Jericho loses the title but I hope he stays in the main event picture for a long while.

I do see Edge getting the belt stolen by the MITB winner after he does win, expecting McIntyre.

I did have a thought about another way to get McIntyre and Sheamus absolutely hated by the crowd.

Undertaker wins at Wrestlemania of course. The next night on Raw, HBK comes out to make his retirement speech, Taker shakes his hand, then both get destroyed by Sheamus/McIntyre.

Taker/HBK get storyline time off, Sheamus/Drew get 4-6 months of shit talking out of it, and they have feuds automatically built up for the fall when HBK and Undertaker return for revenge.

I remember back in the day when Aol first came out and was getting popular they had this section called Grandstand Wrestling and Stevie Richards screen name was IAMSTEVIE and would post about Fire Pro Wrestling. Kanyon would chat there also.

I remember emailing Stevie at [email protected] back when he had his first neck surgery and wishing him well. He had his own Firepro S template up on his site although I can't remember if his site was on AOL or somewhere else.

Well, of course, y'all. It's not like wrestlers are technology averse. After all, if you spend well over a dozen hours a week in airports, you're likely to spend a good amount of time putzing around on the internet (or reading, of course).

The question then becomes who frequents CAG? Someone once pointed out that Samoa Joe follows CAG on twitter - now, whether or not that means he lurks in the forums at all, let alone this one, isn't a conclusion we can draw from that. But I bet a couple of folks have, on more than one occasion, read our nerdiness and general complaints.

picked up my TNA prize package I won on the radio today. Scored 6th row ringside tickets, backstage passes for intermission, Hulkamania shirt, Lockdown 2010 shirt which actually looks pretty cool, Best Of X Division 2 pack DVDs, pack of trading cards and a TNA mouse pad. The Backstage passes are actually on a TNA Letterhead paper with some TNA people's phone numbers on it. They finally announced the card today 4 days before the show. Pretty strong lineup

TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match
“The Phenomenal” AJ Styles vs. “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero

Tag Team Attraction Match
“Big Sexy” Kevin Nash & Eric Young vs. Beer Money, Inc.

TNA Knockouts Championship Match
Tara vs. Daffney

TNA X Division Championship Match
Doug Williams vs. Daniels vs. Homicide

X Division Tag Team Action
Motor City Machine Guns vs. Generation Me

Plus…TNA Founder Jeff Jarrett, Desmond Wolfe, and more!

Gorgeous George is getting into the Hall Of Fame this year. Along with Bob Eucker, there's now one spot left for this year.

Okay, Gorgeous George (Wagner, right?) is a great choice.

But b/w him and Bob Eucker, they're clearly just desperate to fill it out at the last minute. I thought WWE was against inducting the deceased into the Hall, by and large. They have before, of course, plenty of times - but that doesn't mean they'd prefer a live body over a dead one.

Last announcement will be some way the fuck out there choice. Like Rene Goulet or some shit.

Makes you wonder if any of the Stu rumors were ever true.
I like that Creed spelled caliber wrong.
Yeah, I noticed that, too. Mr. Beef beat me to what I was going to say, though.

Lance Storm is another guy who's really fan friendly over the internet. Everyone knows about StormWrestling.com now, but back in its infancy- around the time Storm left ECW- there was a comment board where people could post comments and Lance would reply to just about every one. I even had an hour long AIM chat with him once. This was all back in 2000, when I first got the internet.

As for the Hall of Fame, I wish the Warrior rumors would be true. I'm going to the HoF ceremony, but other than DiBiase and Inoki (and seeing Piper when he inducts Richter), there's not much to be excited about.

Congratulations on winning! Why didn't they just announce Jeff Jarrett vs. Desmond Wolfe? That's probably what will be happening, and TNA house shows usually only have 6 matches. The card looks really good, though. Surprised to see Nash working a house show... His match will likely be the worst, but it shouldn't be too bad with Young and Beer Money doing most of the work. Oh, and please take lots of pics of Daffney. :p

Sad times for TNA.

According to a source within TNA, the backstage reaction to the low 1.0 rating that the 3/8 edition of Impact brought in was met with a certain amount of panic amongst the higher ups in the company.

Before the rating came in, everyone in management, including Dixie Carter, Eric Bischoff, Hulk Hogan, Vince Russo, Ed Ferrara and Mike Tenay were walking around as if this was 1997 all over again, and the wars were in full effect. But when the rating finally came in, everyone was dejected, and virtually stunned. Dixie tried her best to put on a game face, but she was clearly reeling from the news.

Additionally, I was told that Mick Foley was trying to sell it to the talent as a great effort that will get noticed, but the crew all knew there's very little positive that could come out of this rating.

Plus, there is enormous second guessing running through the locker room on the desperate message it sends to use Jeff Hardy. Although Jeff is very popular with all the talent, a lot of people are worried that if Jeff is convicted on even one federal felony drug charge, then TNA will have some major damage control to do. Being so far behind in ratings, no measurable increase in PPV buys yet, and house shows doing ok but not in middle sized arenas yet, there is a lot of concern that Dixie talks a great game but doesn't have what it takes to compete with Vince McMahon.
