WWE runs an angle where they poke fun of a roster member's flatulence while at the same time doing the whole "Don't be a bully be a star" campaign bullshit.

Something's rotten in the state of Connecticut.

"The new stars have to rise on their own. What big star ever laid down for me?"

Stephanie McMahon.

The modders in the WWE gaming community continues to amaze me. You can now download CAWs from Community Creations in WWE 12 and you can actually have the real life portraits. Here's CAWs of Primo, Epico, and Bret Hart that I downloaded.

dscn1679b.jpg

As for the actual CAWs themselves, Primo and Epico are pretty meh but the Bret is pretty damn good.

I'd imagine you can pull the files off of a Flash drive. It worked for maps in games like Unreal Tournament 3, etc.

I didn't know Epico and Primo were up (because, well, apparently THQ's definition of 'fixing' the servers is completely opposite of mine), but I've had Hart for about a week. You just download them like regular Community Creations.

The only bad thing about Hart is that, for some unknown reason, THQ removed Bret's entrance for WWE 12. So, basically, he walks out like Random Guy #12.

I'm not sure how the creators actually got the pictures on there, but I'd guess that as soon as it becomes a well-known thing, nearly every worthwhile CC will begin to have them.

Until the next patch comes out.

It will remove that ability, and as an added bonus, we'll get Bastion Booger and Mantaur.

EDIT: UT3 is a good point, but the ability to mod that was an intentional aspect of the game design. Part of me suspects this degree of customization was not intended for WWE '12.

Or maybe it's their way of making it up to us for sending out a game that's no fun to play.

The actual process of giving the CAW's a real picture does involved a hacked 360, but you don't have to have a hacked 360 to download and use them.

This is the work of Petchy. He was hesitant to upload the Bret one, but the developers loved it. I don't know how THQ feels. He's since teased Owen and one involving Chris Jericho, the new Kane and Great Muta (and another guy that I'm sure I'll get roasted by a few people here for not knowing his name). He's also made Sabu. It's good to see more popping up, maybe he'll release more.

/edit: Actually, I'm not sure that Primo and Epico were done by Reckless Youth. That's fantastic that other people have figured it out, I can't wait to see what else crops up soon.

Yeah, the next patch that I'd expect to be out in... I don't know, what's a good time for THQ? 3 months? 6 months?

Basically, I'd expect the game to be nearly irrelevant by the time it would get released. I say 'would', just because I'm not totally convinced there will be another patch or any other support. After THQ's financial shitstorm, I'd guess it's basically all hands on deck for WWE '13 as soon as the recent patch was kicked out the door.

WWE '12 already peaked and it will have solid sales until the next one no matter what happens... why? Because the people who give a shit about patches, CC, and online already picked it up. THQ has almost zero incentive to keep supporting this game.

EDIT- Awesome. I'm glad to hear that there may be more CAWs in that same vein coming. For some weird reason, that was the tipping point for me with downloading them.

I'm going to wait to see how THQ reacts to this.

If they embrace it, I'll pick up '12 for 360. If they patch it to stop it, well, then obviously I won't.

THQ does have more important things on its plate at the moment, though...

Petchy's Caws are insanely good. I have all 4 of his Jerichos, his Muta, his Hart, and all of the movesets he updated as well.

I'm waiting for his CM Punk to upload, it is by far the best CAW I've seen this year.

WolfgangJT is the other Caw maker to watch, he has Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, Farooq, and Bradshaw available now, and he will be releasing an amazing Hogan soon.

Well, according to the front page of CAG, it's $40 at K-Mart this week.

If it makes you feel any better, I almost drunk bought a PS Vita over the weekend.

Thankfully I did not.

Not for me.. not lately, anyway.

I don't buy the WWE games for the game itself, I buy it for the CAW community. I can't make CAW's worth a damn, but I like doing the themes. I'm beyond excited to see more renders bundled with CAW's.

That's a pretty sick Shane Douglas.

The Primo and Epico are from BloodySunday93. Just search their names under What's Hot and download the ones with the portraits in the mini preview.

I meant his username on the forums where they were posted. I haven't seen them on Live yet.
If it makes you feel any better, it takes HOURS to actually get the CC to work so you can download these...
Explain, please. Is the CC just crummy/buggy/crashes a lot (like on PS3), or is there a more complex process to download these guys?

If you try to download them during "peak" times (aka when most people are on), good luck being able to download even 1 thing from CC. Either the search doesnt even bring up any results or it wont start the download bar progress when you click download. I find that I have the best chance to download something at like midnight or 7 in the morning.

No joke, I once literally spent an hour and 15 min trying to download Petchy's Bret CAW and just gave up cause I had to go to work.

I've been able to connect to the CC server once since the 'fix'. Even then, it froze as soon as I tried to limit the search to Arenas. I either get the "Servers Unavailable, Try Again Later" message, or it loads enough to get me to the main "What's Hot" screen but shits the bed when I try to do anything beyond that. I've basically just given up now. The fact that I managed to coerce Bret Hart out of it is no less than some kind of small miracle.

I haven't even been trying at peak hours. For fuck's sake, I couldn't connect last night during the Super Bowl. If that's not an 'off-time', I don't what the fuck is.

Man, this game is really pissing me the fuck off.

I've spent the majority of the day trying to find themes that will work in the game. I find the theme, download it, make it a playlist, but when I set it to the theme in the Entrance, all I get is silence.

Scorch's themes all work, but that doesn't help for most of the CAWS I have, including:

Ultimate Warrior
Bret Hart ( the WCW one I got from Scorch works)
Jericho (again, the wcw one I got from Scorch works, but I want break the walls down w/ countdown)
Scott Steiner (am using nwo theme for now, want the siren theme)
Billy Gunn (ass man, even used the video from above here trying to get it to work, no luck)
Batista (no I will not give THQ any money for their DLC)
The Rock (see above)
Mortal Kombat Techno Theme (I have a sub zero and scorpion caw)
Superman theme
Mick Foley
Brodus Clay (Funkasaurus)

Are you streaming directly from your PC? You may need to reboot both the Xbox and your PC in order for it to work. I had this same issue, but I also have things hooked up via linksys router. I just unplugged that, waited five or so seconds, plugged it back in, and the network reconnected itself and works fine for at least a few days, then I gotta do it all over again. Fn Windows, man.

I haven't been able to download a damn thing since two days after the fix. It will show as downloading, then shit the bed at 99% every single time.
I will try that. I am streaming from a linksys router. Why would it work with some themes and not others though?
No idea, other than my assumption that the network needs to "refresh" in order to take the new themes, or something like that. It does the same when I want to use the Video Player to stream videos/movies from my computer to my 360 as well. Been that way ever since the 360 holiday update.

Hmm... well that did not work. I guess I'm going to have to burn these onto a cd or some shit.

wcw versions of themes lick balls. It's all generic crap or blatant rip offs of real songs.

Found a dusty 5 year old burned cd that somehow had almost every track I was looking for. Ripping it to the HD now, if that doesn't work, I don't know what else to do.

Speak of the devil, Petchy just uploaded his Punk onto CC. Just downloaded it right now.

Just got my #HEEL shirt in the mail from barbershopwindow.com .. Yeah, I bought one, suck it. Just in time to wear to Raw tonight.

On a related note, the new Ziggler shirt looks fucking atrocious. Even Punks new one looks questionable.

Weird. What setup do you have linking your Xbox to your pc? Wired? Wireless? What OS?

Gotta be some kind of fix for it. I tinkered with mine until I came to the conclusion above, maybe it's something similar.

sweet. what kinda shirt do they use? If it's American Apparel, I'm totally gonna buy from there.

I wouldn't buy them but I don't think they're that bad. There's something I actually like about the Ziggler shirt. Much more fashionable in a modern sense than another "skulls n' shit" Triple H t-shirt. Or Undertaker t-shirt.

Awesome. I am so tempted to pick up the million dollar man tuxedo shirt. The goomba one would be cool because its the year I was born and I always name myself Jobber on RPGs. Could always use more Nintendo stuff too.

I had Raw on as background noise for the first half, then switched to EG Floe playing Boshy after the Jericho/Punk promo. Apparently I missed Miz fucking up a spot with Truth. Other than that, it seems like this was an early contender for Worst Raw of the Year...or worst show, for that matter.

I bought the "Rip 'Em" shirt for my brother's birthday ("Rip 'Em little brother!"...ok, no one is going to remember that).

The shirts are Anvil, 100% cotton. Seems ok, not the heaviest shirt I've ever bought but not sime flimsy, thin 50/50 shirt either.

I didn't think Raw was that bad. Not a highly memorable show but I enjoyed Undertaker's lair full of video walls and Jericho actually using the word "trolled" to describe his antics. Love the idea of Punk just being a dick by copying everything Jericho does since Jericho called him a copycat wannabe. That concept probably won't last beyond this week though.

Another interesting channel I stumbled across:

http://www.youtube.com/user/nafip

A complete metric fuckton of WWE/WCW "production themes" - ie background music you'd hear during PPV buildup videos, and occasionally stuff that was used as entrance music. I heard everything from the Bobby Heenan Show theme to the theme they overdubbed for Ricky Steamboat at Wrestlemania 3. Unfortunately nothing is really sorted other than by name (which is meaningless) so it becomes a game of "click on one and see if you recognize it." Fortunately most of the comments mention what it was used for.

He really needs to come out to the ring in a jacket wrapped in Christmas lights during a Jericho match and run around the ring giving high fives.

They use Anvil, who I believe WCW used back in the day. Pretty comfy for the most part, and has a tearaway tag if you like going tagless (at this point, who really misses tagged shirts).

Edit: RAW was fucking BEYOND horrible. The crowd was hot to start the show, but over half of RAW was video clips on the Titantron and it absolutely killed the crowd.

Brodus Clay was pre-Superstars dark match vs. someone in pink tights (Heels wear pink, you know) accompanied by Abraham Washington. Even Funkasaurus halfassed it for the dark match, and he only had one of the dancers with him.

Damien Sandow was in the dark match. You may recall him as Aaron "The Idol" Stevens.

He was on Smackdown with KC James in a tag team, with Michelle McCool (?) as their manager.

The Dicks were pushed harder (pun! haw haw, that's so funny. ugh.) than James/Stevens, so if you don't know him, it's because you blinked. I saw a good bit of him in OVW years ago and always thought he had potential*, so I'm excited to see him make the main roster (so he can flounder again).

* potential limited by the need for hair plugs. Sorry, WWE needs you to be 'cosmetically pleasin'.

Ahhh, yes... Now I recall. And yeah, I blinked. I thought he looked a little familiar. He did quite well, but with Abraham Washington as his manager it just seems like an odd pairing.
