Yea but it's weird for Jews to be racist since most people are racist towards us. Like my dad always called my ex-girlfriend black even though she was Indian... :\
Speaking of which, what happened to that guy.. someone said he went on a racist rant? Does anyone by any chance know if there's a link somewhere? Maybe archived?
I'm curious as well. Zen gets mentioned every so often and I wasn't around the wrestling threads around that time to know what happened.

I'm digging all this puro talk, maybe I'll get back into it. Especially now that Kojima is back w/ NJPW, I have a small chance of seeing him wrestle when they come to the US next Spring.

Outside of Wrestle Kingdom on 360, have there been any next-gen Puro games? Last games I recall were Wrestle Kingdom, then Fire Pro Returns - but after that, you have to go all the way back to 2002 or so to find King of Colosseum. Have I missed some?

You mean to know what happened to him, or what kind of guy he was?

Both.

I actually liked that opening video. Especially that part about laying the groundwork for greatness and that being about Miz. Good stuff. Doubt the rest of the PPV will live up to that. These full gimmick PPVs tend to disappoint. Also, how many spots from this match do you think will make it into Botchamania with Kofi in it? I figure the entire PPV could be it's own Botchamania.

Damn, I was really hoping to see Vickie go flying.

Since when do you have to hold onto the title? What the fuck?!

"Fighting the Lexus" and "Totally Lethal Cobra". Love it.

I would love to see Nexus make a run on all the titles. Just build them back up as the threat they were when they first started out. There were only a couple ways putting Cena directly in that angle would benefit the development of the group and of course WWE dropped the damn ball on that. Hopefully Barret wins, with interference by Nexus expected as long as the GM doesn't put some stip against it. If we are lucky they will do a Cena injury angle and then they can start another run through the ranks of Raw and the titles. Getting Cena out of this picture is the only way it can happen and to be honest a loss by Barret will not lead to anything good for the angle.

I hate "metal" ladders that are made of wood.

So we can guarantee a Miz/Jmo match at Royal Rumble. I no doubt expect Morrison to get squashed by Miz. Great match, though.

Myke, I love puro, and try to keep current. Hence why most of my Best of 2010 involves a lot of Japan, specifically Prince Devitt. :)

This ladder match, specifically that incredible fall spot, and Jerry Lawler's "Is this guy Terminator, or what?" comment, really put over Sheamus as a legitimate future contender.

Good job to Morrison and Sheamus.

With Morrison winning I fully expect Miz to retain tonight. I figured he would anyway but I bet this guarantees it. Of course they could do some stupid shit and have Morrison put his #1 contender-ship on the line against Sheamus for some retarded reason.

How Josh Roberts going to ask Miz who's going to be the champ - Miz or Orton????

That's the dumbest shit I've seen an interviewer - real or fake - ask in such a long time!!!

"Mr President, who do you think is going to win the election between you and your future opponent???"

....And why is the WWE title match < Cena & Wade's???? This would have NEVER happened just only a few years ago....this makes the Miz/Orton match not look important AT ALL

Or Sheamus will cost him his title match at Royal Rumble, then both Morrison and Sheamus end up in the Raw Elimination Chamber in February

Does this surprise you? Cena is the most important person. If John Cena was facing a midget and a donkey, that would be the final match.

It's just that even the Hulkster wouldn't main event over the damn champ!!!!

....At least the other world title hasn't been defended yet I guess...
I had to work. I'm watching the Miz Orton match now, what have I missed?
Dolph kept his title, because Kofi/Swagger unhooked the belt but it dropped to the ground before they held it. Dolph grabbed title off the ground and held on tight.
Beth/Natalya beat Laycool. Double sharpshooter and the pretty table not breaking at first.
Santino/Koslov won via DQ. They then get destroyed by Nexus.
Morrison beat Sheamus. Pretty damn good match.
Someone laid out Nexus with chairs minus Barret and Husky. Probably Cena.
Thanks chase, I now have something new to watch on my phone during downtime at work :)
Hey, Never. :) I'm always happy to share.

I'd love to have some chatter about Japan pro wrestling. I appreciate how Japan handles stories and promos (i.e., guy coming out from the crowd to choke out a guy on commentary, handling promos through press conferences reminiscent of other sports, etc.). This is my favorite thread, ever, and has become the only reason I post in the main CAG forum. I can always dream, right? ;)

Lemon, I dunno. I watched Nattie-Beth versus LayCool, went to do something, and came back for Morrison-Sheamus.

*reads JP's post*

Weird finish to the Dolph-Kofi-Swagger match. Was it intentional?

Yeah, they were so prepared/quick with the rules of how you have to unhook and hold onto the title explanation.

This looks like a beautiful finish if they are doing what I think. Oh hell yeah. That is fucking amazing. I'm not a big history person on tables matches but have they done an ending like that before? I figure they have and I don't remember it but I actually love that. This just shows The Miz character will do whatever it takes.

That win was so cheap that it wasn't even enjoyable...

End this championship run ASAP

....Good enough! Thank goodness that wasn't the ending

OH HELL NO!! THAT'S EVEN WORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn, restarted the match. Oh well, I still loved that entire scenario. I figure Miz will still retain.

Yes. The match itself was terrible, but with a gimmick PPV most of the time you wont get great wrestling. I actually enjoyed that ending though.

Eddy would have finishes that were cheap, but you respected him for it

.....Miz's finish tonight was just so lame that even the crowd was like "....booo" and that the heel heat type but the "da fuck???" type

I used to keep up with Puro mostly thanks to japanese wrestling games. Those days seem to be over.

I guess I can understand no more firepro games (on consoles at least) because they looked archaic on DC in like 2001 but come on, how about a King of Colosseum 3?

I used to be HEAVY into Puroresu in like 2002/2003. I remember around the time of Kensuke Sasaki opening World-1, Osamu Nishimura being heavily praised, a knockoff Great Muta in NJPW, and AJPW running with Muta and Kea as tag champs. I used to have a mega boner for the Real World Tag League. I think the last time I followed was 2004.

WrestleMania 8
Big Show throws copies of Knucklehead out to the crowd.

The crowd promptly throws them back.
I'd love to have seen the ring get covered with those getting thrown back.
They just doubled the number of people who own Knucklehead on DVD.
Tripled at the minimum.

Finally, CM Punk. Hopefully he gets involved and costs Cena the win.

Punk must have gotten reamed recently on commentary because he just seems super quiet and understated tonight. I could be thinking too much of it too.

That rolling chair item was stupid.

Not a surprise but damn it that sucked.

I was so disappointed at that attitude adjustment onto the chairs. The entire time I was thinking, "that's it? No avalanche of chairs or anything?"

Then I actually get an avalanche of chairs. The ONE time WWE grants my request, I swear.

Nexus = Spirit Squad with a main event leader

Cena = HHH

It has been spoken. I'd be pissed if I were in Nexus...but using the double edged sword viewpoint, these guys were in FCW or whatever just this year....

It's just mind boggling though how such a sweet group full of high fliers, bruisers, charismatic voices, and menancing faces.....could cartoonishly get chopped down. I thought only HHH could bring down almost anybody...
