Given that he's still quite bad in the ring, I don't really mind that, but since he is THAT bad, he shouldn't be in the ring, and should just be a blabbermouth until he gets better as a wrestler. Having him work with Lawler is only going to help his ring work as Lawler's still a brilliant in-ring storyteller, but losing to him hurts Santino's credibility since Lawler isn't really seen as a legit legend outside of Memphis, which is quite sad, but unfortunately seems to be true.

I'd be elated if they put Y2J into an immediate program with Randy Orton. However, I'm a realist... last time they had the balls to make Jericho a world champ, the top story of his reign was the HHH/Steph "divorce" feud. Hell, he had to feud with Chyna over the IC title. When he last left, he left like a fucking CHAMP with the sniveling to Bischoff (on TV) to keep his job.

All this that he's done for the company, and the company has done to him... he deserves a WWE title run again. This leads me to believe that he's going to immediately start a program with Charlie Haas.

I've got to strongly agree, and slightly disagree with you here...

I think Santino isn't *that* bad in the ring. His moveset definitely has some holes in it, but on the whole I think he's got some solid mat skills that could easily be built upon. Working with Lawler is indeed a good way to do that, so long as Santino gets the win via a typical cheap move.

I have to really agree that it's a damn shame Lawler gets so little credit outside of Memphis. I'm sure that can be attributed to how over the top his "King" announcer character is. Tis hard to take Lawler too seriously if you haven't seen his work outside of the WWE. Quite a pity though.

Santino is very good in the ring, but he's not that good at the WWE "sports entertainment" style. His squashes in OVW, when he was Boris Alexiev, were very, very good.

I don't think it's solid/not solid, but the Santino character wasn't meant to be as dominant as Boris. I don't see any point in putting Santino in squashes (esp. as he's a great coward), but I wanted to show some clips that he's a capable wrestler. I dunno what the hell happens when people get to the WWE and it's night and day.

The thing is, he's all of 5'9" in a pair of Asics. Fine by me, fine by you...not fine by McMahon. Jericho and his elevator shoes are cool though.

Santino does work best as a cowardly heel, but just imagine. Stone Cold comes out, confronts Santino, goes for a stunner, and Santino blocks it and destroys him with a German suplex. No one would expect that.

Spoilers from the Smackdown taping.

The Miz & John Morrison beat MVP & Matt Hardy to become new tag-team champs. Afterwards, MVP attacked Hardy with the ring steps.

Well, that makes sense.

WTF?

How are they going explain that?
Probably just by explaining that ECW wrestlers can wrestle on SD. Still, it's the worst tag team ever considering SD's still got a couple tag teams.

wow that is nuts..

doesnt make sense either.. they should both be focusing on the ecw title.. smackdown has a lot of teams that could have one the belts

From the Observer:

- The reason why ECW superstar Kevin Thorn hasn't been on WWE programming as of late is because he is being punished for botching a move that could have severely injured KC James in a match on ECW's 10/9 broadcast. Thorn botched a finisher at the end of the match and it seems he is being punished for that. Furthermore, Thorn is said to have a bad attitude, not to mention his matches often receive lukewarm reactions from the live crowds.

Well, no shit about the crowds. As for the botched move, I remember Thorn almost dropping James on his head from a fireman's carry during that match. It was hard for me to tell whose fault it was, though; of course, I'm not the expert here.

Also, from Pop-Up Insider:

After the TV tapings were over, JBL gathered John Morrison, the Miz, MVP, CM Punk, and Matt Hardy backstage. JBL went on to “dress down and berate” the Miz and Morrison for their color commentary on ECW. JBL felt that they ripped Punk apart in their commentary and made Punk look bad as opposed to them just being heels and saying bad things about him. He then yelled at them for their ring work during their match with MVP & Matt Hardy and told both Miz & Morrison to apologize to Punk, MVP & Hardy for making all 3 of them look bad.

The Miz apologized to them, but Morrison told JBL “screw you, it's none of your business, and he didn't say screw, he said another word” and said that he would apologize to them, but it had nothing to do with JBL. They went back and forth arguing and at one point Morrison shoved JBL and the agents had to come and break the dispute up.

Wow. Morrison is gonna get buried for that now. JBL's one of the untouchables in WWE, so far as I can tell.

TNA puts some nice preview clips from the TNA Year One DVD online.

No, it doesn't. Miz and Morrison are more over than any SD team, and I
don't really mind them having the belts, as long as it's a short run, as I've wanted to see Miz hold gold for a while, and he and Morrison have pretty good chemistry together. I'd rather see MVP and Hardy have the straps, but they regain them soon, and maybe Punk will team up with Matt to win the tag titles, thus tying the ECW title and U.S/Tag title stories together. Given that ECW and SD wrestlers can freely switch brands, I don't see "ECW" wrestlers holding it as being any kind of issue. It's also an easy way to get some tag titles on ECW while not having to create new ones. I'm looking forward to Rey/Kennedy and Finlay/Jeff Hardy as well.

Wow, I kind of wish I hadn't seen that Boris Alexiev side of Santino. I'm almost torn as to which one I'd rather see. Funny that he can go from being Russian to Italian like that. But, you know its a good thing when you have two equally good gimmicks, opposed to say coming to the WWE and becoming a retard or something like that...

Thats pretty funny about the SD tag belts. Just watching ECW last night got me thinking "Hey, I really like what they're doing with MVP and other Hardy. I should start watching SD as they might have other decent stuff too..." and now thats over. I do think Miz and Morrison have good chemistry together though. Strangely I never thought I'd be complimenting the Miz. haha

Overall with Jericho coming back next week, I really feel that theres something interesting to watch on each show now, and I haven't really felt that way in a long time.

That SD spoiler is just assinine,
Hardy & MVP were one of the best things going down on any wrestling show right now, they had developed a very unique chemistry, so to end their uneasy friendship and title-reign so unceramoniously and to the likes of the Miz, is just unacceptable. That *yet again* shows how little foresight WWE creative has. Do they even plan for things more than a show in advance? Matt and MVP should've held those tag belts together through to the rumble.

Hell had I been writing this, they would've held the belts to the Rumble, Matt would've taken a cheap shot to toss MVP out of the match, say after MVP saved Matt from being eliminated, just to stir things up a bit. This leads to them dropping the belts and eventually facing each other at WM.

I find it rather interesting that Morrison would mouth off to JBL like that. No one can argue how bad Morrison and Miz's commentary was last night, but for Morrison to get pissed at JBL, oh boy. He better hope he heads to Raw sooner than later. I doubt Morrison is punished too much though, as he's got the right look for a smaller guy, at least as far as Vince is concerned.

On a side note that show that Thorn botched that move on was the one I went to with my girlfriend, even she thought it looked really messed up. Thorn had already messed up the crucifix bomb once earlier in the match.
I don't know if it was mentioned yet, but that Jericho cover is 100 percent legit. My friend just got his issue in the mail.
Haw haw, bravo WWE.

Pretty bold putting him on the cover like that. What if he gets hurt his first day back?

I like that idea. It would make the US title look even better IMO for MVP holding it so long and then dropping it to Hardy in a glory moment at WM. Then MVP moves on into the World title picture while Hardy does a barely overcoming the odds type title run by facing some of the "monster" heels and winning.

What irks me the most is that two ECW guys, who are in the ECW title picture, took the belts. Hell if they're going to mix is up might as well gave it to Londrick. Deuce and Domino should have actually won it back because they haven't done shit since losing the belts

Hell give it to Stevie Richards and Dreamer for all I care, which actually isn't a bad idea, but I digress... putting those belts on Miz/Morrison is just dumb. Miz is a completely dislikable heel, and while Morrison has charisma, he plays off the Miz like oil and water. Hardy and MVP had great chemistry, and I really hope this storyline does continue to WM24. Although we all know if there's another MITB match those two will be in it.

Swung by TRU this evening in the futile attempt to find a copy of Mario Galaxy. Saw that they had limited edition classic two-packs of te 4 Horsemen. They had:

Flair (in suit) w/ Barry Windham (in tights w/ Horsemen shirt)
Lex Luger w/ Dean Malenko (were they ever Horsemen at the same time?); both wearing different Horsemen shirts
Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard; both wearing 4 Horsemen "satin jackets" (Arn = black, Tully = Red).

In a goofy turn of events, Malenko came with the WWF Light Heavyweight title, while Anderson/Blanchard came with the WWF tag titles (which they did have, I suppose, but it wasn't a fuckin' Brainbusters package, you know).

Anyway we could get photos/scans of the article inside?

The Chris Jericho WWE Magazine cover shot is legit and there is a major article inside talking with him. He puts over the idea of working with Cena, HHH, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Kennedy and MVP. He said he went to Lance Storm's wrestling school to work out some of his ring rust. He is also coming back with a new finishing move and will debut some new moves.

^Comes from Dave Meltzer via NoDQ.com

Former ECW star, New Jack, is calling out to all male and female wrestlers to come to Cincinnati and try out for New Jack Promotions. The try out is scheduled for this Saturday, November 17, 2007 from 12pm to 4pm at the Intense Arena. Try out fee is $20.

^Also from NoDQ.com. Myke, it's time to take a forking from New Jack.

Anyone playing SDvR '08 on the PS3 or 360 can use the code "KellyKG12R" to unlock her alternate outfit. Fun!

I'm going to dress up like Mass Transit.

No, for $20, it's a steal. But it's also New Jack. fuck no. fuck no. fuck no. I'd rather go to the Bill Goldberg wrestling academy than pay $20 to have some jackass take liberties with me. Besides, I'll be in Columbus for roller derby.

I'm sorry on your behalf. Not because you'll miss New Jack, but because you'll be in Columbus. Make sure you hit up Bernie's Distillery for Happy Hour. $2 Coors and $2.50 Bloody Mary's, and probably a few crappy local punk bands.

I miss Bernie's. :(

I hate Columbus. I hate OSU.

I did get to see one of the best festivals there (More than Music) in 1999/2000 (I think). Got to see Assuck play on someone's lawn at 2AM; it doesn't get much better than that.

Here's another spoiler for SD that I have to question after reading it:

A match between Batista & Mark Henry that ends shortly. The match basically is Batista smacking Henry on the back 5 times

Myke, might want to watch Heat whenever they upload it. They have Atlas Da Bone & Charles Evans(Ox or Hammer, can't remember which one he's called) in matches.

Oooh. Very cool. Thanks for the heads up.

Anybody spending $20 on New Jack deserves what they get. I've met the guy twice and he's a confirmed dick.

Then you must be loving the Fighting Illini this week.

I don't think this has been mentioned here yet, but the WSX DVD is out now. It features all the episodes, including the last one that never aired, and has backstage commentary.

Does it have full matches? I remember watching it once and from what I could tell, all the matches were cut up.

I couldn't tell you. I pulled the info off a news site. It would be nice if it did, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

The above statement and the fact TNA refused to give Rikishi a promotion (and thus fire him) make me proud of TNA for what they've accomplished so far.

And yes, I'm being serious.

Sabu may botch his moves but the guy is death-defying(awsome) I like how he wrestles.

Sabu burned his bridge when he left last, no? Kid Kash style, IIRC.

He'd be useful if brought in a stable w/ RVD and Heyman, but since that's pretty bloody unlikely, he's not much more than upper-mid-card clutter (and god knows they have enough of that already).

I'd like to see him continue to wrestle, but understand where TNA is (reportedly) coming from.

Guys... I have to confess........ after what Bubba said about the G-Division people "hiding behind their keyboard under alter egos"...... I am really.......

Chris Sabin.

No really. I am.

Chris Sabiin

So.... I am him. End of story.

;)
If the story is true, Sabu broke his jaw as he was wrestling in a match. He then tapes it shut and continues wrestling. That is having guts. Then again the guy is suicidal.:hot:

http://youtube.com/results?search_query=Sabu
of course he'll continue to wrestle...it's not like when he broke his neck ever stopped him or anything ;)
