How many copies of a game can I trade in?
​You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.
 
What do I need to trade in an older console?
The console, power cable, av cable, and controller. Sometimes they don't care about USB charge cable but ymmv. 3DS XL trade would be console, charger, and stylus. Some have reported being charged a refurb fee for missing the stylus, but again ymmv (answer stolen from anarchyburger)
 
FAQ will be entered when those questions get asked frequently.
 
Does the Pro Membership B2G1 coupon apply to only games, or accessories as well?
The coupon applies to both games and accessories, per the wording on the coupon.
 
I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).
 
 
TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free. Typically refers to the coupon you receive when becoming Pro.
GCU/BB: Gamer’s Club Unlocked, Best Buy
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

Since it was taken down there is no way to distinguish that version from a regular old preowned copy

Your best bet is to specifically ask for it

Some store employees may not even know, but it will definitely ring up at a preowned price

I’m playing a link to the past for the first time now and IMO a link between worlds is better as the dungeons here feel tame

At this point, it seems clear the code printing out is hit or miss, regardless of the version you get. Too many people not getting codes when they should have. Great promo, horrible execution. I know for me, I got the code for NBA, didn't for Borderlands, did for Link's. So I would suspect, if Code Vein really is apart of the promo, I won't get the code lol.

So went to trade it both horizon and horizon complete ed amongst some other games. Regular version w/$5 boost and pro $9.40. The complete edition was ringing up around $6-7 even though the app says otherwise. Interested to see if it goes up tomorrow after the pro sale. Can confirm no $5 boost on ps3.

I don't think anyone is going to beat Dragon Quest XI in under 48 hours.  I suppose a speed run is possible, but I know I wouldn't get any enjoyment out of it.

You can play the first 10 hours or so by downloading the demo, the save carries over to the main game. But I agree that would be a stretch.

Didn't have the Zelda code on my receipt but wrote it on there thanks to the user that provided it here. Worked no problem. I got lucky with a super chill employee that I've bought/traded with several times and he's just interested in talking games and doesn't care about this stuff. Also pre ordered dragon quest with the funds.

Exactly. Gamestop wins all-around with this. Whenever a company can tie up your money to only use at their store, it's a win for them.

I had the same issue...and did the same thing with the proceeds! I wasn’t greatly interested in LA, but I’ve really been looking forward to Dragon Quest XI for a long time now. I have what feels like YEARS’ worth of Switch games now...

I believe they are. Used inventory on the app/website has been spotty for a while. It also doesn't have a listing for used on either to buy which I think is why. Astral chain has been like that but noticed today they now have an option to select used and checked inventory and suddenly a few places have it in stock.

Also I traded a copy in earlier today and it's not showing it on the app for me at that location.

I still remember when I traded in a huge bunch of PS2 demos into Best Buy. They clearly just didn't care. So much credit for so much nothing.

Even two years ago at Gamestop I single-handedly crashed their VMU market to buy my switch. Good times. I knew that huge box of VMUs was worth keeping.

I am rolling the dice that at least one of the 4 stores near me will stay open. Dunno if I am going to bite on the new Zelda remake.
