GS FAQ

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.

What do I need to trade in an older console?
The console, power cable, av cable, and controller. Sometimes they don't care about USB charge cable but ymmv. 3DS XL trade would be console, charger, and stylus. Some have reported being charged a refurb fee for missing the stylus, but again ymmv (answer stolen from anarchyburger)

FAQ will be entered when those questions get asked frequently.

Does the Pro Membership B2G1 coupon apply to only games, or accessories as well?
The coupon applies to both games and accessories, per the wording on the coupon.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free. Typically refers to the coupon you receive when becoming Pro.
GCU/BB: Gamer’s Club Unlocked, Best Buy
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

Never got past the captcha. At least I got a preorder button this time, that never happened for me for the system the other day.

I feel like I should have kept it in my cart, rather than dropping it and trying to re-add after it said out of stock. Ugh, probably no luck anyways, this one seems WAY more popular than the PS5 bundle drops.

Called my local GameStop about switch OLEDs nothing yet in my area but they said to call back Monday or Tuesday

Damn, this doesn’t bode well for when PS5 drops again for pro members. Last time, word was it was easy since there was a pro member gating.
It wasn't just easy, it was easy on more than one occasion. I was very very surprised at how I wasn't able to snag one of the Halo boxes this time, despite being on and refreshing the whole time.

Was $20 base ~2 weeks ago. I doubt it would have changed.
Just observing, it's interesting to me that even though we're entering into the era of $70 for new games, it doesn't seem to be impacting what the used market will accept. Gamefly's prices on some of these $70 games also seems to be trending with the prices of $60 games

Is anyone not getting points for transactions anymore? I traded in a one x and switch last week, no points. Then bought an oled switch and Metroid dread, no points.

I've looked every day and nothing. Trades were on 10/7, purchases on 10/8.

10/8 - traded switch in and bought switch. Got ~16,000 points.

10/9 - trade switch in and bought switch. No points.

10/14 - called support and they credited me 16,000 points.

Glad to hear the $260 trade-in for Switches is still valid. Does it need to be towards an OLED or can you just bring it in? I managed to snag an OLED yesterday but didn't want to trade my system in the store because I wanted to transfer my saves first.

The +$40 promo rings up automatically for pro members. Nothing else necessary on the transaction.

Scored a white OLED switch at my local GameStop this evening. Said they just gotten two units shipped to them tonight without any kind of warning. Store located in Central Florida.

Traded in my Switch and got 260 today

Bought the White OLED, I called multiple stores all over for the OLED and several stores in an area north from me had "Significant" stock

Also found 2 Metroid amiibos too

I don't think there was a difference when we moved from $50 to $60 either. I remember my friend being butthurt that EB only offered him $27 for Driver 3 after he paid $50 a day or 2 before. I tried telling him not to buy it (I went with Spider-Man 2) but he hated it so much he just took the $27.

I'm sure that it would be greatly appreciated if the region was stated when letting us know that GameStops all around you got oled stock.

Thanks in advance

For some reason, I haven't been getting any points on any transactions in a good while, including the last time I reupped my membership when they were doing to 10000 point promotion.

If you're going to post about stores near you getting OLED switches, please say where that is.

Nothing near me in Eastern CT today, but I'm trying again tomorrow.
