I wonder if you're deaf and you trip on E or some other drug, if your trip is more fuct up because your visual accuity is higher... the whole compensating for the missing sense deal.

dartbudge is correct.

My swearing upset becuzimbrown, tiredfornoww and probably ____ so I decided to use absurd underscores instead.
I learned from the best.
*straightens tie*

Yeah, well, you know...

I'm new to this whole wireless router-thing, but when I was on my PC last night, I noticed a little notification on the taskbar, asking if I wanted to allow Windows Media Player streaming to "pc-bobby".

Would that happen if a spy is sappin' my sentry someone is sappin' my Internets?

What the Hell else could that "pc-bobby" shit be?

I thought I had my wireless disabled, but I was wrong. I disabled it, and haven't seen anything weird since.

I probably should have checked the wireless status before I disabled it and added a password.

Someone (we'll call him Bobby) was trying to stream your Media Player playlist to his computer (sorta how you can share iTunes libraries across wireless networks).
Damnit. Hopefully they will release the european release with english text and voice. If so I am just gonna get that. I mean Sept. 5 was already the delayed date! The game is already out in Russia, I blame Deep Silver for this.
Stalker and GFW Radio are major factors behind me wanting to get a new computer. (wanting to play Crysis and TF2 on pc, and just having a computer that doesn't get bogged down by the simplest of tasks being the others)

Yeah, dude was on your network.

1. Change your router's password.
2. Enable WPA w/password.
3. Turn off the broadcast of your network's name(SSID?).

That would be someone with a Vista computer and a username of Bobby accessing your wireless connection. Know of any neighbors called Bobby?

He could only do it if I allowed him to, right?

I did all of that, except for changing the routers password. Do I really need to do that?

No. I'm gonna find out who he is, though, and talk shit to him.

Probably. I'm pretty sure WMP only starts that shit if a computer is on the same network...

But you know what you need to do now. Get a baseball bat and go door to door until you find "Bobby". :)

I was going to do that netsend DOS command, and send him a message, threatening to murder him... but I didn't want to get evicted.

He couldn't see my PC's name, right? Only the router name?

What you should have done is quickly put Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" in your streaming playlist and then allowed him to access it.

EDIT: Yeah, he can see whatever you set as your computer name, as well as your SSID.
I got most of the achievements in Feeding Frenzy. Now my gamerscore is above 400 pts. I'm so proud of myself.
Uh DC, your gamerscore is 330....

EDIT: Hey Brak, depending on how thick your walls are and what kind of router you had, the guy would probably need to be within 50-100 meters of your router. Just so you, they are real nearby.

The walls are three feet thick, except for one wall near the hallway...

He is probably on my floor. :whistle2:k
:nottalking: @ budge for trying to take away from my accomplishments. I worked hard for those points.
Nope, as I said I didn't have any school work to do for today.

I mean, I did work pretty much all summer, so I think that makes up for it.

That doesn't fly in the non-home-schooled world. :nottalking:
It was raining in Virginia today so it was probably very messy at the bmx track.
Makes painting hard to boot.
Fudge - can the original Stalker be played on a fairly shitty computer?
What are the specs on the computer?

STALKER can be run on pretty shitty computers, however the graphics will look super shitty as well.

Anyone used to watch The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, back in the late '50s? Remember that one episode, where Dobie's dad told Maynard G. Krebs to get a job, but instead of saying, "WORK?", he gave Dobie's dad an infraction?

fuckin' crazy.
