The Good, the Bad and the Last Movie You Saw

Kung fu hustle: Old school kung fu story with modern cgi. I thought it was funny, and the cgi is good. Thumbs up!

I also watched Kung Fu Hustle today. Great movie, will be buying later this week. The scene where Steven Chow was calling out the people in town to fight was priceless.

The Great Train Robbery and other primary works
A VHS (!) of some of the earliest films. Most of it was actualities (basically documentary movies of real life) from the late 19th century and the very early 20th century. The big draw for me were the two classic narrative short films, A Voyage to the Moon and the Great Train Robbery from 1902 and 1903 respectively. An interesting collection overall, it was pretty fun to see how film as we know it today got its start.

Vertigo

Man, amazing. Truly the film of a master at the top of his game. Special mention also goes to the fantastic Bernard Herrmann score.

Unfaithfully Yours

Hilarious movie about a conductor who suspects his wife of cheating on him. While conducting, he has elaborate fantasies of revenge. It had me in hysterics the whole time. :)

It's ridiculous how much I love this movie.

The one with Rex Harrison or Dudley Moore? I noticed that this was playing on TV a few nights ago, and I'm a fan of Dudley Moore. Have you seen his version? Is it any good?

Salvador

Great film, one of Stone's best. Mixing drama with scenes that seem documentary like, solid acting, especially from James Woods, who is fantastic, and an emotional look at the war in El Salvador, the film is top notch all around.

Ah, I forgot about the remake. Yes, it is the Rex Harrison version, but it was damn funny. I mean, Preston Sturges! But, I haven't seen the Dudley Moore version. Can't imagine it topping this one though, heh.

Easily one of my favourite movies. The Landlady was high-larious.

I rented Team America: World Police last night, and was sorely dissapointed. There weren't many funny parts at all. However, it did make my evening to see Michael Moore explode and the F.A.G.'s get shot up. :D

Tuesday - "Kung Fu Hustle". Possibly one of the greatest martial arts comedies in years.

Wednesday - "The Jacket". Reminiscent of "12 Monkeys". Keira Nightley is naked...
STEALTH..too cheesy, jamie fox cant do serious roles! (save ray)
Stealth was supposed to be serious? I must have missed that when I saw it.

Last movie I saw was the worst... Star Wars III. Every now and then you'll hear yawns from females around each corner and leaving their bfs behind.

Constatine...ok, never read the comics, so it didn't butcher up a story on me. Could have been better, could have been worse

Blow-Up

Well, I liked parts of it, but I don't think I really "got" it, and I don't think I particularly liked it overall.

I saw the director's cut of Alexander a few days ago on video. It wasn't nearly as bad as all the reviews I've read suggested. I'm actually tempted to try out the film-based RTS PC game I got a couple of months ago from EB for ninety-nine cents. :D

Wings of Desire

One of the best movies I've ever seen. A beautiful, hypnotic, touching, amazing film. Yeah, I really don't think I have the superlatives to describe it properly.

The Eye 2. Nowhere even close to as good as the first one.

Shorinji Kenpo aka Killing Machine. A pretty good older Sonny Chiba flick.

Stripes, with Bill Murray.

Quite frankly, that is the worst movie I have ever seen. No tonly was it incredibly unfunny, but it was inaccurate, bland, pointless and discombobulated. Don't even rent this travesty.

What that movie is solid gold.

Sure, and Dukes of Hazzard warrants five out of five stars.
