Hi all,

I know that I've been inspired to keep working at my weight loss by some good threads here (notably, javeryh's great thread found here).

I thought it might be fun to try to keep a tally of how much weight CAGs have lost as well as an encouragemnt to keep at it. So, post in this thread how much you've lost. You could start counting today, or if you've been at something for a while, you grand total up to this point. My total will be from starting from early April.

If you'd like to share your starting/current/goal weights, do that too for further encouragment and tracking. Feel free to share tips here if you want, or keep those in other threads and we'll just keep the tally here. If you see I haven't added you to the list after you've posted or haven't updated your total in the OP, shoot me a PM.

Whether you just want to drop 5 pounds to feel better or need to drop a lot of weight due to health problems, etc., this'll be fun. Keep at it! You can do it! And you'll feel great when you do! :bouncy:

CAG Grand Total: 116 lbs.

Sounds like a good idea. It's always easier when you get that first 5 lbs. out of the way and once you physically start seeing the improvement, you really get motivated. I'm currently at 201 but my "normal" weight should be 180. I've been real lazy and not watching what I eat these past few months so my weight shot up a bit. I hope to begin starting this Sunday (since Saturday I'm heading to a steakhouse with a bunch of people. :D)

Yeah, the first 5 are really the hardest I think because it seems like you're doing whatever you may be doing for nothing. But once you start feeling better then it can almost get addicting! (well... almost ;) )
Excellent idea!

prmononoke--(218/162/150)-56 lost since early August.
Holy crap dude - how have you been doing that? I seem to have hit the wall...
Holy crap dude - how have you been doing that? I seem to have hit the wall...
I started with the Slim-Fast diet, which I followed strictly. I played DDR on workout mode with a goal of 60 minutes nearly every day. I actually sort of hit a wall right around 170 around Christmas, then I gained like eight pounds back. So these last 6 months or so have been really slow, but with Summer I'm getting back in the groove. Currently, I am doing the Slim-Fast diet, with some slight modifications, and I am biking nearly every day, while playing DDR on the non-biking days.

Edit: If you want, I can post my actual eating...schedule. It works really well.

Congrats prmonoke!

I did SlimFast a bit for a while back, but that stuff (the sugar?) messed with my heart rate / blood pressure something fierce. Just a heads up that it might not be for everyone.

I'm at about 190 right now. I'd like to get back to 165. If I could stop drinking beer and get back to exercising I would be fine.

I know everyone says that you gain weight in college, but I found I had the exact opposite happen, with the greatest change my senior year this year. I was 225 when I went to school in the fall (August) and by the end of the school year (May), I was down to 191. So I've lost 34 pounds since August 2006. I've put a bit back on since I went to Disney World, but I'm only at 195 now, so it's still 30 pounds from my heaviest. I don't really have a goal in mind, and surprisingly, I've been doing this without really exercising. Besides walking to and from class, I haven't done any outside exercising. I think it's mostly cause I've changed my eating habits. I never really had time for a real lunch this year with my classes, so lunch for me was a yogurt, a fruit snack pouch, and some water. Plus I barely snack anymore, and when I do it's stuff like Cheez-Its instead of potato chips and stuff. So I suppose I could lose more weight if I actually exercised now too. So I guess I'd put my goal at 185. Hopefully if I ever come back from work not completely exhausted, I'll start jogging at night.

I was at about 235 a year and a half ago and now I'm at 165.
A lot of cardio and cut out the junk food will go a long way.

I was 6'1 135 a year ago, now i'm 172... I still feel a little fat, but everyone tells me i'm nuts.

All the Vodka plus eating after 12am did me in I think.. I'd like to get down to 150.. seems comfortable. At 135 people said i was skin and bones.

Yeah you are pretty much nuts. 172 is pretty light for 6'1, 135 is just :hot:.

I did some shopping this afternoon in preparation for my mini-diet. Since I only need to drop to 180, my diet won't be too strict. My breakfasts will consist of oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, etc. I also replaced my regular snacks with Triscuits and Wheat Thins and frozen yogurt instead of ice cream.

A year ago when I was on a similar diet, I found that things aren't so tough as long as you give yourself 2 meals to eat whatever you want per week. It doesn't damage the diet because that is less than 10% of your weekly intake (considering you eat 21 meals per week). I generally saved those occasions for lunch during the work week since you burn the most energy during that time.

250/197/180 > started seriously working out mid-Jan.

goal was 200, but now i'm setting for 180. then we'll go from there.

congrats to all!

No more Kool-aid man?

You go [former] fatties!

I don't really need to lose any weight being 6'4" at 210, but I exercise to maintain my health. Gotta do something to get rid of all that damn icecream...

I started at 210, I'm at 210 and my goal is... 210. I WIN!

Im about 5'8 and weigh about 220 pounds. I really want to get down to around 180 pounds. So far i have lost around 10 pounds in 2 weeks. When i cut out all the crap from my diet and started exercising it came off like crazy, to bad i will hit the wall soon.

How about us trying to gain weight (just as difficult to do it correctly as losing weight)
Started at 155... currently 165.5... goal 180

Crash was the one who looked like the Kool-Aid man  ;)

I don't think I've ever had a picture up on CAG.

Meh... yallz the same to me.

I was 285 and I'm down to 235. I didn't have a clear-cut goal, but I'm really happy where I'm at now, so I guess 235 was my goal. EDIT: 235 might sound high, but I'm 6'6".

I'd go into my story and my advice for everyone, but I've gone over it a few times on CAG already. If anyone's interested, they can read some of my older posts.

Was 235ish over a year ago (last april), just hit my goal of 190 this past week. I' think I'll take it a little further down to 180. I'm 6'1" by the way.

Started my diet today with a wonderful brunch of oatmeal, cereal, and a banana. Oh yeah baby, who needs steak and eggs when you can have that?

yeah, im 6'3 and am around 160. I've really gotta gain 15 pounds or so of good weight

I'll get on updating this soon. Our internet at home conked out this weekend (modem died) so I've gotta get that fixed and have had limited access to the internet the past few days.

I have been running the elliptical a half hour a day (about 400 calories burned, I use the elliptical due to a partially torn ACL in my right knee, it sucks) and avoiding any unnessecary sugar all summer.

Doing pushups/situps every other day and eating 4-5 smaller meals a day as my body calls for them, not just eating for the sake of eating. (A meal being just a sandwich with no condiments/cheese or just a banana and single serving of oatmeal) I did pretty much the same thing last summer and went down a few notches on the belt and a few shirt sizes.

Of course I got lazy with having a girlfriend during the school year, and this summer I'm back at it, and it feels great. I've never been a fan of weighing myself, because it just discourages me, and I do it to look better and feel better, not to hit a number.

Kudos to you guys though. Nothing wrong with reading the scales everyday I think last time I weighed myself I was around 220 and I'm 6'2 ish. Probably less than that now. I worry more about shirt/pant sizes as results.

I started my diet a week and a half ago and am now down 5 lbs.

I'm following a similar diet but eating 3 normal meals a day. Oatmeal or cereal for breakfast with servings of fruit. If you find your sandwiches too bland, jalapeno peppers make a great replacement for cheese and make your sandwich taste awesome. I've also replaced mayo with ketchup.

alrighty, here's my story

I'm 21 years old and am 5'11" and currently weight 163. Back in december I weighed 145 and was practicing jiu jitsu 4 times a week. Since I turned 21 in december, I've gained 18 pounds and i attribute that to alcohol and not doing jiu jitsu anymore.

my goal is to not only get back to my original weight, but to surpass that and get to 140.

Ketchup has a lot of sugar. I usually go with Banana Peppers, spinach, or mustard. Ms. Dash works good for some extra flavoring as well.

ok we can add magiic to the list, Im not roofing but through careful diet and excersise I am currently down five pounds

I guess you can add me to the list as well. I'm 20 years old, about 5'10". I started last Sunday (July 8th), and at the time weighed 203 lbs. I just weighed myself today and am at 195. 8 lbs. in one week.

I've basically cut out all junk from my diet and have been focusing on eating high protein / lower carb foods... lots of eggs, chicken, fish, etc. I try to drink lots of water and so on.. I've been running 2 miles at about an 8-10 minute mile pace. (fucking hate endurance running) and a little swimming when I can.

My goal is not so much a weight, but a body fat %. I think I'm at about 14% bf right now... I'd like to get down to 5%. I think that would be about 175-180 lbs. for me.

I'm a little worried that I'm losing to much weight too quickly though, I'm trying to limit the amount of muscle I lose, but whatever... It's good to see some other cags trying getting their weightloss on. keep it up guys.

I've always heard that diet soda is bad for you regardless of it's calorie content. I do have a Cherry Coke Zero once in a while because I love them and they're good with a meal once or twice a week. I also enjoy the sugar free lemonade that Tropicana makes.

Of course, all bets are off on the weekend when it comes to drinking.. Probably do a lot worse for the diet that way. Not a big beer drinker, though, mostly Miller Lite and liquor. Less carbs that way, I suppose.

I have lost 45 pounds since June of 2006. I was 185. Now I'm at 140. My height is 5'7". My goal is at least 130, but I've been real lazy, getting comfortable, and school is out, so lately so I haven't done DDR every single day. It would be so sweet if i can get to 126 though. Then I can be underweight.

itsgottabeodin -- (250/235/200) -- 15

I'm 6'2" and the only thing I've changed so far is going vegetarian a few months ago.
Starting to get on the elliptical and can't wait for DDR on the wii.

Tried the high protein diet last year & lost twenty pounds. Works really well until you get married and your wife is a great cook.

I'm in. I have some free time for the next five weeks to exercise and stuff. Let's see how much I can lose.

(188/188/150)

I'm 6'2" and weigh 215. Since January I've been mega-lifting weights 3 times a week and running a couple miles every day.

I mainly just got bulky instead of thin, heh. My body fat seriously declined though.

(215/215/180)

I really need to lose weight (I'm fat right now), but I'm too lazy. Right now, I'm 5'5" at 132lbs. My stomach sticks out too much (it doesn't stick in like it should, due to a little too much fat), so I'm trying to burn it by playing DDR, biking, or sometimes jogging. I'm trying to burn fat so I can do more ab workouts (so I can get better abs, to attract girls). Right now, I have too much fat and even if I worked on my abs, it wouldn't show.

People tell me I'm not fat and need to eat more (gain weight), but I'm thinking I should be down to 115-120lbs.

But overall, I use to be 160lbs in H.S., and now I'm down to 132lbs, so I've made some progress over the years.

Jan 07: 288

NOW: 277

GOAL: 240, at which point I can start weight training and build muscles which, incidentally, will actually bring my weight UP (muscle weights more than fat).
(muscle weights more than fat).
rofl... I think you are getting at muscle is more dense than fat as a pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat
rofl... I think you are getting at muscle is more dense than fat as a pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat
Err, yes that's what I meant

Anywho, weighted myself an hour ago, and I actually tally in 269. This means I actually lost 8 lbs since the last time I weighted myself (bout 2 / 2 & a half weeks ago).

I'll add myself to this, I've been trying to lose weight and plan on getting down to at least 185 by the end of the year.

I've lost about 20 pounds since about the beginning of this year, but I'll start this at now, so I need to lose 15 more, then I'll go for another 15 or 20 over the course of next year and I'll be at a good weight (unless my body fat percentage drops and I gain more muscle, which I haven't monitored lately).

Here's my parenthetical thingie - (200/200/185)

 i think im gonna pown everyone here lol i've lost 100 pounds since last year august 1st (06)

august 1, 06: 261 lbs bodyfat: % IDK
july 22, 07: 160 lbs bodyfat: 9%

still need to lose around 2% - 4%

without the damn wii lol, all cardio and free weights

I'm a bit late to the party, but I guess I might as well post now. I started back in March of '06.

(343/300/200)

Am I currently the biggest fatty? LOL
