The Howard Stern Thread

Does anyone else zone out for Mike Walker's stories? I simply can not follow them. He uses so much alliteration and cutesy/dumb nicknames that I don't know what he's talking about.

i dunno, but i guess them right most of the time. A lot of times he used old celeb stories and makes them with a new different person.

Tradio is the best.

"Hey my name is Harry Bigcock"

I am suprised that people still listen to Stern. I used to listen to his K Rock show for years 1994-2005. I purchased Sirius in January of 2008 and I gave up on his show by June. I couldn't stand all of the weeks off, phoney prank calls, listening to him whine and cry about how tough his job is. Howard has turned into the biggest hypocrite in this world.

I still go onto sternfannetwork every once in awhile. I had a great laugh when I saw that a caller called into the show and called him Imus instead of Howard. It was even funnier when he asked Howard about deidre's new book.

I agree with most of what that dude says about Stern though, he has totally turned into everything he used to destroy verbally.

I still think the show is funny as hell though and the vacations and Friday's off don't bother me, I need a break for music once in a while.

Everytime. At the end when they are guessing I have no clue what they are talking about. I don't do it consciously, it's like my brain goes on auto pilot and thinks about anything else.

Anything Else Robin?

That was my biggest pet peeve. This guy works 16 hours a week, 40 weeks a year, gets 3 months of vacation, complains about how tough his job is, how difficult it is to wake up at 5 a.m., makes 100 million a year and he says Anything Else Robin 30 times a show. AER is his way of speeding up the show and getting the hell out of there.

It's sad because 10 plus years ago my favorite part of the show was the News. I used to enjoy hearing Howard making fun of everything that was going on. Robins news became boring because they all stopped caring. The amount of money that they are making took away the hunger, drive and determination to make people laugh. They just want to rush off and enjoy their day. Robin with her boat, Howard with his Trophy Wife/Chess and Artie with his drugs.

Speaking of Artie and drugs he really sounded fucked up on the episode I listened to today (3/13 - The Mexican Delivery Game episode). He was slurring, dozing off, and apparently falling asleep while standing up out in the hallway ... the same thing the gay Rolling Stone photographer accused him of back in December when he admitted to using.

Does anyone have the 6-12-06 show..The week after the Artie roast and George Takei is in the studio.

The mon and tues show I have have this double beep that randomly sounds off and its quite annoying..its not something from the studio because Howard would bitch at the first one and he doesnt say anything so it must be something in the MP3 or whoever recorded it.

I was laughing out loud when I heard Sal do an impression of the Tradio guy right back to him. Particularly when he said, "I'd like to list my first item now pluhyash".

Also, they need to take this 12 year old Limbaugh kid and splice up his voice for prank calls.

haha the 12 year old limbaugh kid makes me nuts. Such a little shit. Prank calls with his voice is an absolutely fantastic idea. If they could sneak in the part where he does the mocking tone somehow.

the voice at 44 seconds haha

I hate to tell you but the prank calls that Sal and Richard do are fake. You have to get the persons permission to use them on the air plus several of the people that they have called have been shown to be plants.

That being said, my favorite phone calls are from Hank who asked Howard how come he wasn't wearing his cowboy hat. He called another time and asked if Howard knew any former Ames models who could help Hank train his dog.

Well, they aren't necessarily fake. Yeah they do have to call back after and get permission but that doesn't make 'em fake. There are some where they've admitted the people they are calling are fans of the show like "myturbanisdirty" guy. He knows it's richard and sal. That's the only plant I've heard confirmed though.

That was funny when hank asked about his cowboy hat.

Howard needs to shut up about phones too. He's spent like 4 hours the past 2 weeks talking about cell phones.

I, also, like how they accuse richard of having MRSA because he has a pimple on his arm meanwhile howard has a tick on his balls and left it there for more than a day.

I've been listening to the Fight Week stuff on the bus (since the new CAGcast was behind schedule *shakes fist at Cheapy*) and I gotta say it's far and away the best non-show material they've had to date. I could listen to this stuff all day. Most of it I heard before but its infinitely entertaining. I also enjoy the fact that one of the arguments involves the short lived Sega Channel.

just started listening again. I didn't know that someone took pictures of Chris Farley after he died.. but I did see them after they talked about it briefly on the show. Man that is disturbing.. but the funny show overall with the Gary pitch.

I have a headache and tears in my eyes from laughing for about 4 minutes straight. I know its in poor taste but it was from Howard's idea for Weekend at Bernie's with Blue Iris. That's some funny stuff.

Also, I blurted out loudly with laughter (in this quiet, peaceful office) when Lisa G said she had bad news about Blue Iris's situation and she mentioned her husband is keeping her alive to collect disability .. Howard says "Oh is that all? I thought you were gonna tell me something really bad like they're making one last porn movie with her."

Does anyone think that in a year and a half it will all be done? I have absolutely loved every day of the Sirius/Sirius-XM years and would hate to have it end. Long live high and wide pitch Baba Booey!

I hate thinking about it. I have no idea how I'm gonna keep myself entertained when they're done. Its been getting me through my day every work day for the past 6 years now.
Swap Shop = all-time greatness.
That call was so fantastic, it's unbelievable that some people can be fooled that easily. The dropping loads part was so ridiculous yet they still read it, it's the greatest.

Does anyone else think that Artie has been absolutely insufferable lately? He's almost making me not want to listen to the show anymore. He constantly interrupts, he's loud, unfunny, and just has been straight out venomous and mean. I hate to say it but he was infinitely better in the midst of his drug problem.
Whatever happened with the Eric the Midget Realdoll? Please don't tell me that I missed it, it would break my heart.
That was a total fake bit... the guy who came in to measure Eric was found to be the same guy who pretended to be someone else for the show... it's never gonna materialize.

Wait .. what? You mean the guy was scamming the Stern show or the Stern show was scamming the audience?

Speaking of scamming the audience .. there's no way that Chinese clock/cock call that Sal did awhile ago is for real is it?

Scamming the audience.. notice you haven't heard a word of the Real Doll since... if it actually happens I will eat crow, but I doubt it.

The show has done this thing before though... fake guests, fake callers... fuck, there's even an MP3 of a "Howard TV fan" out-there, and it's fucking Ralph, trying badly to disguise his voice.

I don't care cause all this shit is funny, but you know 30% of this shit is scripted.

I am about three weeks behind(Just finished the Ron Howard visit, starting the Intern pageant) and I agree 100%. I wish Artie would just work one day a week. He is just too much for me.

You're catching up to about the time where he starts to get really annoying. I think the day with Jackie, Lou Bellera, and Gilbert Gottfried was the worst. I had to turn it off. I couldn't take anymore Artie screaming unfunny insults.

i must be in the minority then because i think artie is the best part of the show anymore, he seems to be the only one not completely phoning it in.
