The "I'm blowing my tax return on..." thread

Bills... Actually its already gone.
Paid off 3 credit cards, 2 house payments, 2 van payments, phone bill, paid off a loan and a few other bills.

Spent $4500 in under a weekend.
 
Im blowing it on a pitcher of beer and a big pile of chicken wings and my PSL's to the Ravens. The Orioles are gonna blow this year, so i might as well get started to a sloshed summer.

I'm getting back... uh... $14 dollars, I think, unless I really fucked something up. So I guess that's enough to buy a cheap game.
 
Sweet! I just did my tax return and it looks like I'm getting back some amount north of $10k. It also means my withholdings are completely effed up and need to be fixed. I shouldn't be making large no-interest loans to the government... As for blowing it on something... meh, I'm pretty boring so I'll probably just invest it.

Lucky bastard, overpaying more to the government... TurboTax tells me I'm getting around $1500 back, fed + state, so that's not too shabby. Most of it'll disappear as soon as I get it to cover my next tuition payment, but ah well.
 
I'm getting about $600 back from the fed return. I think I'll get me one of these Ipods everyone's been talking about. The rest goes toward that CD I'm about to buy.

I ended up owing $1 to the state government. This means I had to go to all the trouble of printing out some form and mailing it in along with a check. Seems like a big hassle just for $1 but if I ignore it I'm sure it'll come back to bite me on the ass.
 
I'm got $177 back in federal. $26 more is coming in state... I have to that the pen-and-paper way, so that won't come until I get off my ass.

But, $160 of that is going to Extra Innings (the digital cable baseball package). The other $40 or so will probably go towards Oblivion... I'm also considering going to Canada in a few days with some buddies. That would probably be a lot better option...

Awesome, is the MAME cabinet done? We are getting $4400 back and paid off a ton of bills. It suprised me too that more people weren't saving it or paying stuff off with it. This is cheap ass gamer so I thought the same philosphies would apply to more people. But, then I saw this thread and it made me feel older then I should. :(
 
I'm getting about $700 back. I am really thinking about saying it, but I worked my butt off all year and I think I should spoil myself a bit. I was thinking of keeping some in a reserve, and spend bits at a time when I want something, and put the rest towards some bills or knock off a few months on my car payments.
 
I'm taking from Peter to pay Paul. My fed refund will cover the state taxes my asshat employer did not take out, (even though I've asked them to up my withdrawls.) The pittance left over will go to some random game that is on sale for cheap.

The MAME cabinet has been stalled but I think I am going to have time this week to get it about 95% complete. I am also surprised by the free spending nature of people around here. I guess if I was in college or younger though with no responsibilities at all I'd blow it on some crack and prostitutes too! :D

Can't go wrong w/ hookers & blow... well, maybe you can if you don't watch out for authorities & condoms. :lol:
