maybe I am, maybe I am.
But I've gotten to the point where I'm getting:
A. irritated with the disrespect for women

B. subconscious about my own looks due to certain attitudes encouraged by society and appartenly most of the population of CAG

I want to go back to the old days where we just joked around and didn't have to make themed OTTs.
Yeah, it used to bother me on this site too, but I'm kinda over all the half-naked chick pics now. I agree with Point A, but the majority of CAGs are guys, and a lot of them wouldn't know how to respect a woman anyway (flame shield on). Besides, I'm sure they don't act like that when they communicate with a real female they actually know outside of their internet lives. As for Point B, you should never let that bother you, especially here. We could post pics of hot guys, and I'm sure many of the male CAGs would feel subconscious about their looks due to certain attitudes encouraged by society.
BTW, I haven't posted a single image in this thread, so I'd just disregard whatever the theme is.

Some cool pics from CD jackets/covers:

I've heard Slims is a nice venue but they never seem to have good shows. Or it's 21 and over...

I know what you mean. The random, picture-less comments are the worst though.

Great pic from the HIM show, humidore. How was that show, anyway? I'd love to see them live.
:sigh: I'm moody tonight. Ignore me. I'm going about my anime viewing now.
Everyone has mood troubles. Just glad to see that things are OK. Try not to let things get to you. You're a great member, and it'd be a shame to lose you.

What anime are you watching right you? It's been a long time since I've seen a good anime.

Lamb chops an mashers (better with rice, and when grilled)

Heaven

Your dishes look awesome btw.

And beeryguy961, I only been to Slims that one time, and was surprised how small it was (building looks big and tall from outside, but it's quite compact inside). It is all ages for ALL shows I think (I was surprised how many younger teens there were with parents, but I hadn't been to an "American" concert before). They do seem to have a lot of diffrent types of people play there, I'd check their calender often ( www.slims-sf.com ).

Thanks, here's some tips, even though you didn't ask for them:

1. Cut the lamb into individual chops when grilling them, it gives them more surface area, cut them before you marinade them too.

2. Chop your parsley and mix it into the potatoes. Get flat leaf parsley, not the curly leaf you have there, that shit's just for show, the flat leaf tastes better and looks better in a dish rather than on it.

I won't mention that there's no veg, I mean, some times it just takes room away from the grilled meats.

I HATED the fact that there were 2 very shitty openers (like 2 hours worth), so it was 10 when HIM showed (they were in the big tour bus just outside in the front the whole time, i wish i had tried to pop in during the shitfest). I'm not a mosh-pit guy, and that's all the (junior?) high schoolers wanted to do to the Papa Roach-like opener. I only know about HIM from a Dutch friend when I lived overseas, so I wasn't very familiar with their stuff, just like 4 or 5 songs. They only played from Razorblade Romance (I didn't know much from that album), so I enjoyed about half the show, and was lost the other half . Ville talked a lot in between songs, which was cool, but people were very rude (and drunk) yelling at him to shut up and sing...Oh, and the sound was really bad for their first few songs, with Ville motioning to the back to get their shit together, but before you knew it he was takin a few puffs from his cig and havin a few drinks

They're playing in October at the Shorline Amphitheater in Mountainview, with The Killers and Modest Mouse and someone else I think. I don't know any of the other bands (not a good sign), so I may not go. Plus I kinda got outta their music lately...And I've seen Bam on TV, so I've almost totally lost any interest[sorry for long post]

Cool. Never heard of that one, so I'll have to look it up. How do you watch most of your anime? Rent/buy DVDs/VHS, or do you have a channel that you watch on TV?

My cable provider recently put the Anime on Demand channel on the service. I don't know what to watch, though, because there are just random movies and episodes of TV shows. I like to see TV shows from the beginning, so it's a bit odd to just watch an episode from the middle of the series. However, sometimes that is a good thing. You like an episode of something, and then you try to hunt down more of the series. I'll check your anime watched list and see if anything matches what is on the channel. That, or I'll rent something from Netflix. Lately, I've been in a mood for an anime. :)

Well, I've got some good stuff to watch this week. My set of The State DVDs came in, so that's several hours of goodness. I've never seen the show, so I suppose I'm in for a big treat.

I'll try cutting them individually next time. I always have just scored the fat side and marinaded the whole rack, cause I always had the individual chops when I was young. And "check" on the parsley too!

I ordered them from a guy that used to sell them on eBay. I love Reno 911! (but I bet you couldn't tell that, ha ha ha), and I'm a huge fan of the actors/actresses on the show, especially the creators Tom, Ben, and Kerri. So, I've been trying to see where I could track down some of their earlier work. Couldn't find anything for Viva Variety or You Wrote It, You Watch It... but I was lucky to come across The State. I'm really anxious about actually watching the discs (just checked them briefly for contents and quality, which were good), because I know that once I finish them, there's no more. Know what I mean? Well, at least I got 4 discs, and over 6 hours of goodness ahead... :)

Yeah, I pick up a lot of used anime DVDs too. I just mostly pick up what looks/sounds interesting by the synopsis provided. I seem to favor comedic animes and ones with really well-created characters. I like a character that you want to get to know, and you want to see them deal with challenges and problems in their lives and such. Of course, sometimes, a completely over the top anime is good for a watch... but I don't want one that will completely gross/freak me out. I know there are plenty of those out there, so I need to be careful.

Hadn't heard of BoxTorrents, but I think I've heard of AnimeSuki. It's cool that you have AOD also. Anything from there you can recommend?
On Anime on Demand:
Slayers: a fantasy comedy anime. It is slightly old, but my all-time fav anime.
Azumanga Daioh: very quirky and crazy. No semblence of plot but absurd and hilarious (it's better subbed cause you lose some of the japanese humor in the dubbed)
Pretear: A magical girl anime but I found myself really caring for the main character.
FUMOFUU: Hilarious... I never watched Full Metal Panic which this is supposed to be a sequel of, but I can still appreciate the humor in a military trained boy in a high school setting.
I totally need a good storm over here. That would kick ass
Well, it kicked ass. The lightning and spraying rain reminded us of War of the Worlds with blue lighting and such. A few lightning strikes so close that the thunder fucking rumbled the apartment. :D The only bad thing is that it knocked out cable for about two hours when I needed online to take a math test. Luckily it came back on about 15 minutes before it would close and I just finished it. Not too bad, it was easier than the homework was, that's for sure. While I was waiting, I played some Naruto 3 with my roommate and unlocked the 3rd Hokage with Itachi coming soon. This is pretty much the last intense leg of the semester with maybe a few more tests/exams for finals and a couple of papers and some playtesting and setting up of levels.

One of the best storms I've had the pleasure of experiencing in a long time. Definitely made up for the lack of rain in the early part of the monsoon.

meh, FMA isn't that good. The main character is an amazingly annoying whiny little boy, and the script writers were trying to hard to develop his relationship with his brother.

Watch Monster.

While I'll agree with you that Monster is worth watching, I think you're entirely off about FMA. Not many anime can get that great a mix of drama, comedy, action, and character development that FMA pulls off. There haven't been too many other shows where I actually feel that I begin to care for the characters. And not just the main ones, but all of the side characters I feel are developed perfectly also. The Armstrongs, the Mustangs, the Hawkeyes, the Maes Hughes. All are so perfectly developed. And yeah, at times Ed can be a little whiney, but only when someone calls him small. And then on top of that, consider what he's been through. His mother dies, and then in an attempt to bring her back, one that he initiates, he loses his arm and leg, and his brother loses his entire body.

Unfortunately FMA falls apar in the second season.
Unfortunately FMA falls apar in the second season.

I wouldn't say it falls apart, but you can immediately tell when it stops following the manga as the quality of the story does fall a bit. I still enjoyed the second half (wouldn't call it a season since they aired all 51 episodes at the same time in Japan, no breaks), but it had a definite decline in quality then.

Have you seen the whole thing? I didn't like how it started out either but I pushed forward and was glad I did. It really takes its time in fleshing out the characters (which is why Ed, the main character, seems like a whiny lil bitch) that have to be watched over the whole 51 episode span.

I know WHY he is a whiney little bitch, but he is still a whiney little bitch and it is irritating that they waste minutes at a time with his being a whiney little bitch.

It is nice an bloody though, there are throat slashings, shootings, stabbings, maulings, and disentigrations.
