Yes, yet another indie bundle, but like the Humble Bundle, you can set your own price and donate to charity as well. The games only register on Steam, but that won't be a problem for most here. You get a key for each individual game, so you can gift whatever you do not personally want if you feel like it.

Happy Hour guidelines:

*Happy Hour happens at random times: sometimes as early as 4 days after the bundle going live, but most often during the second week of sales.

Happy Hour! Double Gifts! During Happy Hour time New buyers for every gift purchase get a 2nd bonus gift for free (2x1)! All gifts are doubled! Remember to check 'IS IT A GIFT'! *If you have not purchased the current Indie Gala yet, you can buy two for one during happy hour

And if you are an early buyer the deal is EVEN BIGGER!

Yes! If you already bought the current indiegala bundle, you get 2 bonus gifts for free for every gift purchased ( 3 x 1 ) *If you have already purchased the bundle, but you did not purchase it in the first week, you can buy three for one

And if you bought it in the first week you get 3 bonus gifts for free for every gift purchased ( 4 x 1 ) *If you already purchased the current bundle and did so in the first week of the current bundle going live, you can buy four for one

Remember to check 'IS IT A GIFT' ! if you want to take advantage of Happy Hour. You have to check this also if, after purchasing a bundle for yourself with your own email address, you want another additional bundle for you. If you don't, transactions amount will sum on your original email account and you can upgrade your purchase, obtaining more bonuses if you previously didn't unlock it, or more galapoints.

REMEMBER: (Gift purchases are not upgradable and don't contribute to upgrade your personal account for unlock new content.)
***For Happy Hour, you MUST use the same e-mail you used when buying your first bundle, and you MUST check the gift option below the payment method. You have to buy again during Happy Hour to receive gift copies.

CAG Group Buy Hosting FAQ

Q: I see all of these CAGs hosting group buys for people. What's that all about?
A: It's a way for CAGs to help each other get the best deal. One person will buy the bundle during the first week, then they will buy four gift copies at the highest tier during Happy Hour. This person is referred to as the host. They then try to sell these to participants for a fraction of the price of buying the "beat the average" bundle individually, plus some extra to distribute the cost of the initial bundle purchase in the first week. The host gains money back, and the participants get the full bundle for a fourth of the cost. Everyone wins.

Q: How do I host one?
A: To host a CAG group buy, you must first purchase the Indie Gala full BTA (beat the average) bundle in the first week (this has been changed since the previous bundles). This will allow you to purchase four additional bundles for the price of one during a Happy Hour, as stated in the Happy Hour post above. Now, it does matter how much you initially spend, as you must purchase the full bundle in order to purchase full bundle four-packs during Happy Hour. Then, once Happy Hour starts, you buy a gift copy for the current "beat the average" price, which will be listed on the Indie Gala page. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK "IS IT A GIFT" TO GET FOUR GIFT COPIES.

Q: It's asking me for multiple e-mail addresses. What do I do?
A: Just skip that part. The links to the gifts will be added to your account page (which is another reason why you must always use the same e-mail address when ordering from Indie Gala). Most hosts will send out the gift URLs to their participants in a PM.

Q: Is it hard to do?
A: No, it's very quick and easy. Just keep track of which gift URLs you have sent to which people, and you will be fine.

The complete Magicka bundle runs $8.75 on Steam when it's at 75% off. I think this is complete, so you're saving $2.75 off the lowest previous price plus getting other games (that you already had.) Just the DLC bundle runs $6.50 on a 75% off sale.

So I'd say this is a weak bundle, but the best sale to date on Magicka complete.
I'm only interested in one or two of the DLCs anyway, so I'll just wait till say, next week when the bi monthly sale happens on steam ;)

If you don't already have any of it like me, Tier 3 looks good.

Full Magicka collection + full King Arthur series for $6, not bad at all imo.

Someone that doesn't have Magicka :error:

Indie Gala Magicka++ is live..

http://www.indiegala.com/weekly

It looks like they've done away with gift packs for their weeklies? I don't see an option.
So if the gift option is removed from the weekly sales, will Happy Hours be less effective/possible? I don't think I'm interested in this bundle even with HH, but future weeklies might be worth it in a HH.

The weeklies never had Happy Hours. They had an option of "Buy 10 Gifts for" which would discount them somewhat. If that's gone and happy hour is gone from the regular Galas, their bundles really don't have much appeal since they tend to be mostly repeats.

I've yet to buy an indie gala bundle...looks like the odds of that changing are becoming very slim ;)

Ignite - First Impressions

:whee: Okay I finally spend half an hour with Ignite after picking it up for $1 on the Winter Sale.

WHEEEE!!! Okay, I've only spend half an hour on it but it left strong good first impressions. It is a very fun arcade-to-the-core racer. The handling model is simple but very fun. The tracks so far have been good. The easy races are easy but still very fun. You win races with time+points. You get points from drifting (and other slick driving) as well as hitting roadblocks/cones. You lose a few points by hitting walls (shouldn't happen too often, usually minor/trivial loss). You spend points on boosting/nitro. Any points left over at the end of the race reduce your time slightly. This game is tuned for fun.

The graphics are surprisingly pretty -- nice high res textures, nice models/bumpmaps/lighting. Turn on AA, off Motion Blur and DoF. My only complaints are the controller rumbles constantly (easy to disable in BetterDS3 or button on Logitech controllers -- no clue about "official" 360 controllers). And the config menu is slightly unpolished (e.g. contoller layout is Button 0, 1, 2, 3... instead of A.B,X,Y). I'd recommend moving the handbrake button to "B" so it's next to boost "A".
To add to this, the game has a horrible deadzone for controllers. It's more noticeable using a 360 controller because 360 controllers have extremely tight analogue sticks. For other controllers (such as dualshock 3) it's not quite as noticeable, since the sticks are much looser. Depending on what gamepad you use, you'll definitely notice it. If the stick is barely tilted to the left/right, your car will turn when it shouldn't. It's the worst when you're using nitro, because when you're boosting the game has crazy sensitive controls, making it more likely for you to crash. I think this could easily be corrected if the dev put more gamepad settings in the game. A gamepad sensitivity setting would fix it.. but there aren't any control settings other than key bindings. I guess you could use a third party program to adjust the deadzone, not sure if you can for 360 controllers though.

As for the score system, you need a big score to really affect your ranking. So far, there was only one time that I didn't come in 1st (without taking score into account), but since I had a big score, it bumped me up to 1st place. The AI almost never comes close to beating me based on score. Not sure if it's just me, but it seems like the game has the opposite of rubber banding, the AI will do worse if you screw up. The game is extremely easy within the first 2 hours of gameplay, zero challenge at all, gets a bit harder when they start bumping the difficulty up to "hard" for the events though. No way to adjust difficulty in the campaign manually, but you can in "Free Play" mode.

I personally thought the graphics were ok, but nothing special. The track designs are also ok, but get repetitive. Game could use more variety with tracks. Haven't touched the multiplayer yet, but I may do that later.. so far I've only played the campaign mode. As far as value goes, I don't think I'd pay more than $1 for Ignite.

BTW, Gala Project X is just a Minecraft/Guncraft clone the IG team is developing:

Everything voxel since Mincraft has just felt subpar and trying to ride it's coattails.  I'm sure some of them have some unique ideas, but just never been into the voxel art style.

Have you seen the voxel engine powering Everquest Next and Starforge? It's called Voxel Farm and it looks pretty impressive to me.

Final impressions for campaign mode of Ignite.. can be finished in 4 hours, absolutely no challenge, unless you're going for gold medals.. and even then, the AI poses no challenge.

Muscle cars are amazing in Ignite since there're so many opportunities to drift, and muscle car = easy mode for drifting and scoring points. If you're just starting out, I'd recommend trying muscle cars.. they're good in pretty much every track.

I'd like to try the multiplayer, but it seems like it's dead.. I'll need to invite friends to play it. If anyone wants to play with me, hit me up ;). Or maybe I'll force ashes to play with me.

Note: You have to unlock cars in the campaign mode to use them in multiplayer. You get different colors/score boosts for finishing in first with that car.

Looks like Happy Hour is back in effect. Most people probably already have the bundle thanks to our trusty bundle resellers here, but just in case you missed out, now's your chance.

Yeah, it's not the voxel engine itself that is so uninteresting. The engine can do great things, Everquest Next looks amazing. It's all the games that copy the giant block art aesthetic that Minecraft used.

Flashpoint bonus will be Cubium:

I'd never heard of that game. But after watching that teaser vid, it doesn't look too bad. A surprisingly good looking bonus game, IMO.

Does Indie Gala and other sites have a time limit on how long your keys/downloads are valid for? Or can we let these things sit and grab in the future at our leisure once purchased?

They only provide support within 30 days. So if your key is missing or ends up invalid they will not guarantee support after 30 days.

Indiegala twitted that a new October bundle is coming soon and they said it was big!

#thatswhatshesaid
Do people seriously say "twitted"? To me that sounds like a bizare sex term, but maybe my minds just in the gutter tonight...

Anywho I will be waiting to see the bundle as always, but I know where to turn if/when I decide I need one ;)

That's.. a lot of repeats.. Pretty crappy bundle if you own these already, I think the only new additions are the DLC for Two Worlds 2, CK2, and RefleX.

Great bundle if you managed to skip the other bundles that these were in..
