They're making you send a certified letter through the post office to cancel. Anyone who cancelled through the website does not count. If you used a Credit Card that is expired, they will change the expiration date and renew you. Also, general douchebaggery.
 
So ECA not only got rid of their Amazon benefits, but are now requiring me to jump through hoops to cancel?

I feel like total shit right now. Went to my professor's office for some advising on what classes to take next semester and instead he tells me that I should probably change my major cause he says I dont have what it takes to be a good designer in the program.

I dont know if he's pissed off today or something but he's been ranting for the past 20 min how our class isnt as good as his morning class. And that only 1-3 of us (out of 25) will probably make it into the BFA program.
 
We had an engineering professor who would always say the same thing. Half the class shouldnt be in the major. A quarter would barely pass. About five might try grad school and pass, and two are PHD candidates. Shit like that.

I would be one of thsoe people he would say shouldn't be an engineer. Yet I have a well paying job in the utility industry and I do in four hours what it takes my coworkers to do in eight.
 
Have you guys run into that Javelin glitch a lot, Trakan? I haven't played in a couple of days so I'm curious if it's as annoying as it sounds.
 
I hate my advisor so much that i've barely talked to him. Once when i went to see him, he took a copy of the school catalog off a shelf and just slammed it down on his desk like he pissed at something. Beyond that, he just seems really paranoid, like every student is trying to pull a fast one on him.

Actually a lot of the faculty in the business/cis/engineering fields here are assholes.

Some teachers follow a tough love standard. Show him you got what it takes by having a lot of initiative. My mentor is very tough on the masters/PhD students and even harder on the undergrads. However, once you show her you're stepping up, she's quite nice.
 
That doesn't work for everybody though, sean. I really don't respond to people that act like that, i know others who don't either. Not everyone responds to be talked down to and harassed.

My teachers are really nice but for some reason the advisers are assholes. On the major form, it says to sit down with an adviser and plan out which classes to take for the following semesters. But each time I try to do that, they just stare at me and tell me to go fill it out myself. When I ask for some class suggestions, they just tell me to go look it up in a class catalog.

Yes, and it's more annoying than it sounds. The blast radius is so big that you have to kill them from across the map.

Ran into a whole team doing it yesterday and they won the Domination game because they just camped B on Highrise and we couldn't get anywhere near it.

Otherwise it's usually one guy doing it, at least.
 
Well here the faculty are the advisers, at least once you have a major. You get assigned someone in your field as an adviser. It's just that about half the faculty are older, and i guess a little weary, while the younger faculty are usually a lot more willing to help. Most of the CIS professors are younger, i get along with them pretty well, many of them prefer being on a first name basis with students.. The engineering guys are mostly older, mostly ex military too.

Catch them at HOB or something. It's not worth $90 to see them play four or five songs. Not much could make me sit through 30STM and Three Days Grace live, even if you're just going for Linkin Park Lite.

You might not like it, but get used to it. You'll be dealing with those types of people for the rest of your life. When they knock you down, get right back up and keep showing them you have what it takes. And if you don't? Well, you fail out of the system or float by or something else.

Like I said, show the initiative. Ask other students about classes, read the descriptions, and then come to your advisor and say here's the classes I want to take and why.
 
Once or twice a day I die from shit falling on me in MW2. I am a crate magnet.

Yesterday I died from a crate on tnhe first map i played. Spawned right under it. And then in the evening while playign with Khondor, an enemy took out one of our harriers with a stinger. Debris fell from the plane, hit me in the head, and instant killed me.
 
I never said i let them intimidate me, but i do better despite them, not because of it. If they don't want to foster a good relationship with their students, that's fine, but i'm not going to sit there and let them treat me like shit. That's when i go over their head to the dean. :)
 
I am now done with my Integrated Software Applications class. Got my A in it and my professor really liked my presentation too.

He originally wanted the whole to present their final to the class, but he later said they didn't have to. I was the only one that presented it and only my professor and one other student was there. :lol:

I think it just means that the PO is lazy...I have a package that was delivered 6 weeks ago showing as Out for Delivery.

Called Dell and my T.V. didn't ship because I didn't enter an expiration date right. I've called two times and waited days for a conformation on if it shipped or not and they're just now telling me this. :bomb:

FWIW, despite my wife's 3.8 GPA her main accounting professor told her she did not think like an account and would not be successful in that field. Ironically, just three months after making full-partner on her 31st birthday (while pregnant) she and another partner got to lecture her former professor (who was on the board of a regional bank) as to why they should change their loan and security practices in the face of S.OX. and the impending private real estate collapse and potential commercial real estate collapse. The bank ignored her and the firms advice and subsequently failed under the direction of a different firm.

TL;DR- Academics are in a cloistered and coddled environment for a reason, and success is not only its own reward it is the best form of revenge.
 
If you bought the item for $30 and sold it for $120, having the package misplaced wouldn't make you lose the $30 again. It's already gone.
