I would consider myself a gadget freak and I'll tell you why I stick with Apple. SIMPLICITY.
This is the very reason I DESPISE Apple products. Simplicity? More like STUPIDITY (ok, that sounds really immature but read on...).
My school tries to force us to use the "uber-powerful" G5 Macs for our video editing/special effects work, but because of the "SIMPLE" one button mouse (Wtf is that? Is it made for

ing bears with giant paws that can't handle more than one button!??!) one of the MOST USEFUL functions (adding key points, if anyone understands what that means) that I use ALL THE TIME in Adobe After Effects that can be done on a PC simply by holding CTRL and left clicking, is made ridiculously complicated on the Macs b/c you have to navigate through 4 menus to find the function (CTRL click on a Mac is the equivalent of the "COMPLEX" right click function on a PC). Its just assinine and I can't stand people who rave about Macs being the best computers out there. Oh god and don't get me started on how unstable they are. After losing about 10 hours of editing work b/c of those worthless piles, I've started using Adobe Premiere at home on my PC and haven't had a single problem yet.
Oh and back on topic, I wouldn't be caught dead with and iPod. They're a silly trendy item that all the goofy emo kids at my school cart around to show off to their friends. Feh. Hell I even wrote a treatment (a script with incomplete dialogue/stage direction) for one of my classes entitled "THE I-POD PEOPLE" about how I-Pods are being used to turn college students into conformist zombies. Haha. (If anyone's interested in reading it, lemme know)
With that said, I have absolutely nothing against using Mp3 players, I just think its ridiculous that people viewing them as fashion statements. I plan to buy an iRiver VERY soon (Maybe even today) b/c I'm impressed by its functions/value, not the fact that it'll make my friends jealous.
