so tomorrow i get the following on RAW:

A. John Cena promo as Champ
B. Batista making an announcement.

thank God for Trish and her beauty

Ah, I gotta go to damn class tomorrow night and listen to an Asian woman butcher the English language for 3 hours...so no Raw until the next holliday for me!

That wound up being a better show than I was expecting. The tag title match was okay - not as good as Jericho-MVP from Raw last week, but still better than 90% of Mark Henry matches. Henry's new matching attire with MVP, who was rocking a sleeveless look, helped make their team seem legit, but I'm kind of glad they lost, even though I'm not sure who Jerishow has left to face after beating a whopping TWO TEAMS.

The U.S. title match was fine, although the wrong guy went over. I can see not wanting Miz's biggest win on a nothing PPV match that wasn't even announced on TV before the show, but he also can't afford to keep losing big matches. DX-Legacy was pretty damn good and I loved some of the innovative submission spots that Legacy used. Cody breaking out the ringpost figure 4 was great, even if his execution wasn't. Ted locking in the Million Dollar Dream on top of it ruled and I loved seeing them get their win back from Summerslam. Now if they don't get butchered at the Cell PPV, they'll be in good shape.

Kane-Khali happened. I was amazed that Kane was able to lift Khali up for the chokeslam...that's about it for the positives other than "it ended". Punk's promo was awesome, although it was probably confusing for any viewers who didn't know that Jeff was arrested as he didn't explicitly say that, or anything, and kept things very vague. Smart legally for WWE, but still a bit odd for the promo.

Christian-Regal had way more heat than I expected, and it surprised me to see it happening after the DX match, which was way lower on the card than I thought it would be since it was the show-closing deal for Raw. Back to this match - IT RULED! These two cannot have a bad match and Regal was hitting stuff I haven't seen in years - like the Regal Roll senton he used as a finish in '93 AND THE REGALPLEX, which was sick. It's a shame he didn't win here, but at least the finish was great with Christian avoiding the knee trembler that took him out a few weeks back, and then hitting the killswitch. Perfect ending that showed Regal was just ONE MOVE AWAY from victory.

Cena-Orton wound up greatly exceeding my expectations, as the hype for it was lacking, to say the least. These two brought the awesome and told a fantastic story - something that hasn't happened often with Cena since his return in early '08. This was up there with his '07 prime and the ending reminded me of the LMS Umaga match ending, only I greatly preferred that to this. This one worked conceptually with Cena choking Orton out with his own arm to make him quit, but that necktie choke never looks good, and here, Orton's arm wasn't anywhere near his own throat. I'm sure they'll make it seem great in video packages, but seeing it in motion really didn't do much for me. I also thought Orton should have waited before quitting instead of doing it instantly, but that does get the STF over as INSTADEATH, so I'm not completely against it.

I loved the finish for the World title match and it made sense in a lot of ways. T-Lo stating that the gogoplata was banned was heelish - but completely understandable as all he was doing was enforcing a ruling made by the previous person in charge when Taker was last active. Taker got screwed, but there's still a defense for Long in there. Then Punk hits the Vise and with the help of T'Lo, screws over 'Taker. It makes sense with Vince putting pressure on Long for weeks - he's lost it and is making a desperate move to keep his job - fully embracing the "straight edge era" at the expense of 'Taker. The match itself was way too damn short, but given what they were going to do, it didn't really need to be a long match. This was a good way to have Punk keep the belt - which he needs to do, without having 'Taker actually tap out, and reference history (Montreal screwjob V2 OMG) without hitting people over the head with it at the same time.

Jay you forgot to mention the Morrison vs. Ziggler match in your recap.

Damn, I was spending time with the woman so I couldn't watch but sounds like they finally had decent PPV which is good. I will enjoy hearing about it on RAW when I see it.
Jay you forgot to mention the Morrison vs. Ziggler match in your recap.
That's because that match was pulled from the PPV last week, and replaced with the US title bout. Supposedly because they don't want to kill Morrison or Ziggler's momentum quite yet.

I wish they would have made the video a little longer because right after he got out of the ring they started playing Final Countdown and everyone was singing it when Danielson got back in the ring.

Kristal Marshall was recently interviewed by Diva-Dirt.com, here are some highlights:

On going to TNA: Kristal says she’s currently not in talks with TNA, although she has had interest from Dixie Carter and Terry Taylor. She says she would love to go to TNA and work with people who she hasn’t gotten to work with like Tara and Christy Hemme. She recalls a tag match she did in developmental with Bobby Lashley against Booker T and Sharmell, and would like to do something like that again. She says Sharmell is like family to her, and that TNA’s Knockout division is hot. Kristal also notes that she does not have a MySpace page and there’s someone pretending to be her on there.

On the “morally degrading storyline” that made her quit WWE: She said it all began with the Teddy Long wedding storyline. She says she was concerned that it wouldn’t be tasteful, and while Stephanie McMahon told her it would be tasteful, Michael Hayes told her it would be raunchy. She said she was hearing two different stories from two different people, and if it was going to be distasteful she wasn’t going to do it. She said Hayes didn’t treat Bobby Lashley well in the past, and Hayes actually said he doesn’t like Bobby “or anyone that looks like him.” She said she knew if she didn’t do the storyline she would lose her job, but she was willing to do that. She says Trish Stratus carried herself very well in WWE and wanted to be like her. She puts over Fit Finlay as a great teacher.

On Bobby Lashley leaving WWE: She says Bobby was literally making millions with WWE, but walked away because the problems in the company outweighed the money. She says Michael Hayes had blatantly made racial comments to Bobby and said directly that he didn’t like Bobby. She says it was the right time for him to leave the company.

fuck Michael Hayes.
fuck Michael Hayes.
This.

That guy is a such a fucking tool.

Shame, Bobby had the athletic potential to become "the next big thing."
WWE just shut down Pro Wrestling Torrents, I'm gonna miss that place
...are you sure? I just logged in fine and they had several Breaking Point torrents up for download. They have had a lot of downtime recently but right now it seems to be fine.

Google pro wrestling torrents and look at the first result.

Yeesh...that sucks.

Yeah....it stinks.
fuck Michael Hayes.
Yup. Got rid of Bobby Lashley and hates black wrestlers in general it seems. Didn't he have some altercation with Mark Henry that got him suspended?
fuck Michael Hayes.
Agreed. I wonder what the fuck Hayes' problem is? I almost wish Mark Henry would have beat his ass.

In life, there are dumbasses that make me always wonder how in the fuck they keep their job

the latest one to me that finally got fired was MATT fuckIN' MILLEN. (For non-football fans, he drafted 4 receivers in like 6 years as top 10 picks...most top 5. add on the fact that the Lions were garbage for so long and the fans hated him passionately...)

How does Hayes keep his job? If I could ask Vinnie Mac a few questions with truthful answers, one would be the Macho Man fiasco and the other would be Hayes.
fuck Michael Hayes.
Seriously. I wasnt a huge Lashley fan (or one at all for that matter), but still no one should have to deal with such a bigot running the show.
How does Hayes keep his job? If I could ask Vinnie Mac a few questions with truthful answers, one would be the Macho Man fiasco and the other would be Hayes.
Wrestling has an old boys network that rivals politics. Hayes would have to be caught on tape dropping n-bombs and wearing blackface before he gets fired.

Something will pop up to replace PWTorrents soon enough.

I don't think I ever used it for any WWE stuff - well, nothing current, maybe some old out-of-print Coloseum Videos or something - but it's obvious Vince and Co are on the prowl for the video sites now.

Matt Hardy on X-Play talking about SvR10's create-a-story mode

"If I could write my own storyline, I would marry the bosses daughter then I would have control over everything" (paraphrasing) :D

To be fair, if I were on the other side producing content, especially in this economy, that was being pirated I'd try to shut it down too. It's more than Vince McMahon or wrestlers that depends on PPV buys for salaries, although I think WWE should lower their price a bit to help give more incentive for people to buy. PPVs seldom have action that can't be seen on RAW, Smackdown or ECW. I also think there should be no more than eight PPVs a year. When I used to watch PPVs the only ones I ever cared about was The Royal Rumble (my favorite), Wrestlemania, Summerslam, and King of the Ring.

I'd buy PPVs at $15 or less but it is all but impossible for me to justify $40 when...

a. The DVD will come out at $20 in a month and...

b. There are so many of them that they don't mean as much as they should. What was the build up to the one last night? Three weeks? That's nuts.

They shouldn't blame the economy or sites like that for putting out a shitty product. The WWE putting out a product that is barely better than TNA is just ridiculous. I'm sure if they put out a better product, then casual fans would return. Let's not forget that all breaking point was was an attempt to capitalize on the interest and market that the UFC and MMA have opened up/snatch back some of WWE's territory. I have yet for the WWE to return to its glory days of the Attitude era, or at least to the point where this BS revolving circus of Randy Orton, John Cena, and Triple H stops and they bring some real contenders/storylines. I mean, c'mon, where are those tag teams, where's the cruiser weight division, etc.? I've been relegated to watching Mexican wrestling on Galavision because even though I don't understand every word, the wrestling product is just so much better and much more entertaining.

Regardless, the only PPVs really worth getting are probably just Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania, and even those aren't what they used to be.

"I'm here to announce I'm going to Smackdown!" - crowd goes "....."

....Batista didn't even attempt to hype up Smackdown! in that sentence!

If it is a shitty product at $40 it should be shitty when pirated for free. That's all I'm saying.

The problem pro-wrestling has in the USA is burnout. We have pretty much seen all there is to do, we just have different wrestlers doing it. TV shows have hiatus, sports like football have off-seasons. Pro-wrestling needs off-seasons more than anything to help get people interested.

If I kill Trish's husband, can I claim the prize of Trish????

I can't wait to see this tonight.

lillian is messing up on the mic calling these matches a bit too much....unless someone is handing her the wrong announcement cards

and mickie doesn't need to be at the announce table - i didn't even know what she was saying the whoel time

Like I said, that's why I don't care for the product. And you are totally right, the product is shitty at $40 and is the same shitty product at free. I don't mind scripted storylines and knowing that it isn't real competition in a sense, but the UFC puts out a much better product with real competition. Hey, I went to UFC Fan Expo and I saw the UFC 100. In fact, I enjoy several MMA fight organizations. The UFC continuously puts out PPVs, but they seem to be worth it. When you see Dana White and how he's managing the UFC to WWE, it just seems like Vince is getting old and has peaked.

I don't think there's been a burnout for wrestling, as clearly people still tune in to watch the program and there is still interest in it. The problem, though, is the fact that without any real competition, the WWE has allowed itself to stagnate and thus become stale. Any good company needs some R&D and innovation. The WWE is doing the opposite of that and actually atrophying itself. fuck the PG shit. Bring back the attitutde era where storylines actually seemed like they mattered and a crowd would jump when The Rock or Stone Cold came out. But they can't, because they don't have nearly that stable of talent to pull from, and if they did, they are so complacent with just putting the trio of Cena, Orton, or Triple H that they could care less if they have these great talents of John Morrison waiting in the wings. fuck, why not put Chris Jericho at top billing. He's providing with better entertainment than most of the wrestlers you're putting on now.

Back to the point of burnout, yes football has an off season, but many times interest in the sport carries over into the off season and there are plenty of fans/people who would love to have more football on tv. It's already on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Like I'm going to watch a damn grown midget wrestle....WWE got me fucked up
