Sounds like it is definitely based off it.
Gail Kim finally got over tonight.

They should try turning Gail heel. It seemed like they were teasing it recently anyway.

News to me, but it explains a lot.

When Orton was getting powerbombed there was a sign that said "Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time"

I couldn't pay attention anymore after that shit...

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet...Torch is saying these are the charges against Hardy:

-- Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
-- Felony possession of cocaine and Felony maintaining a dwelling for drug use and possible distribution
-- Felony drug trafficking of opium and two counts of Felony possession with intent to redistribute a Schedule III drug.
everything I'd read to this point said the cocaine traces were residual. if that's true, it makes a possession charge near impossible.
Maybe there's some stuff that we don't know about yet, because for high profile cases, DA's generally don't proceed unless they got a reason

Honestly, the hiatus lasted longer than I was expecting. Flair is wrestling again.
A source close to Ric Flair confirmed this afternoon that Ric Flair is indeed going to work the Hulkamania Australian tour and yes, he will be wrestling Hogan.
Info from the Observer site about Flair returning to the ring -
After three days of intense negotiations and months of on-and-off talks, Ric Flair has signed a three-year deal earlier today with the new Hulkamania promotion that will debut with a November tour of Australia.

Flair will be Hogan's main opponent on the announced dates, which are 11/21 in Melbourne, 11/24 in Perth, 11/26 in Brisbane and 11/28 in Sydney.

The deal also includes plans for episodes of a joint Hogan/Flair reality show to be shot on the tour.

The promotion has contacted a number of recent departures from WWE to round out the crew, including Jeff Hardy, although not all have been signed yet, combined with some of Hogan's friends from the 80s like The Nasty Boys.

The plan is to run regular foreign tours. Hogan and Eric Bischoff had been talking about the idea for years, but with both Hogan and Ric Flair going through expensive divorces, it made it a lot easier for both to commit to the project.

Well, I was expecting Flair to come back, but not for this group, which should do really well with Flair-Hogan on top in a foreign market and I'm sure they'll release some stuff from the shows on DVD whenever possible. According to the breaking news audio, it's a three-year deal. They want Jeff to co-main event to have a main event for the younger crowd and Hogan-Flair on top for nostalgia.

Also, Angle had most of his charges dropped from the stalking deal from a month ago. Big news day.

Batista going to Smackdown. There are only 2 things I can picture.

1) Batista becomes #1 contender overnight, buries Punk ASAP.

2) Batista feuds with Undertaker after Punk is done with him.

Either way, we'll probably get a nice promo from Punk about Dave and steroids.

After loosing his career in WWE for a moment he got jailed, maybe he got frustrated, i do hope he will not continue hes bad habit and totally loosing hes career, epic phail... if that happened.
Goddamn. Did slidecage make an alt account?
You couldn't understand that either . Oh yeah, I hadn't known that Flair was going through a divorce. Hmmm...I'd probably go and see that Hulkamania thing. Could be fun. I doubt it can be any worse than Raw/TNA is.
You're the second person to bring that up. I didn't watch raw. Cauliflower ear maybe?
I don't know. Maybe. But it looked really weird.
Goddamn. Did slidecage make an alt account?
That post made slidecage look like The Bard.

If Hardy was smart he'd jump on this money tour known as Hulkamania. Especially if he just dropped $125k just for fuckin bond.
You're the second person to bring that up. I didn't watch raw. Cauliflower ear maybe?
It looked to be stitched up

Jeff Hardy doing the Hulkamania tour requires him to not be banned from leaving the country - which is still up in the air now. Plus, he didn't spend that money - a bondsman put it up. Whoever paid his bail only had to pay 10%. He's also a multi-millionaire who isn't known for insane spending.

Yoshi wearing Misawa-esque tights and doing a bunch of elbow shots ruled. His match with Ryder was the second-best one of Ryder's career, and with Ryder winning that battle royal, it puts him in line for a title shot easily if Ryder wins the belt. While I'm disappointed that Regal isn't in the hunt right now, at least they went with a new guy as a contender as opposed to recycling Dreamer.

Hurricane-Regal was great thanks to Striker's commentary, Regal's face, and the knee trembler out of nowhere. I loved the Bellas coming out to do ring announcing for a mid-card match - not even the main event, and getting intros for it. The battle royal intros taking forever gave me time to edit my ECW roster in FPR, including giving Yoshi his new gear, so I dug that, and the battle royal itself was fine with some great eliminations, good insight from Striker, and a crowd that was hot for Goldust.

Quotes -
Sign - Move #4 - ARM-BAR!
Josh - Tiffany was SMART, SEXY, AND POWERFUL when she banned Zeke and Kozlov from ringside!
Tiffany - The WWE UNIVERSE IS STILL IN AWE OVER BREAKING POINT, AS ECW GM, I’M EXPECTIALLY EXCITED ABOUT THE ECW CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH..(Regal comes out)
Striker - Josh, there are over 3
Regal - I’m sorry for the interruption, but madam, you look lovely this evening! It goes without saying that you lovely every evening, but exceptionally beautiful tonight.. I’d also like to say that you’re doing a wonderful job as GM. Incredible. And having been someone who’s been in your shoes and has fulfilled your duties a lot longer than you have, I thought I should talk to you about what happened at Breaking Point. I know you have a keen eye for talent, just as I do, especially talent as wonderful as Kozlov and Jackson…I wanted to know why you thought to ban these two gentlemen from ringside during my championship match.
Tiffany - Well, Mr. Regal, I aPpreciate you coming to me about this matter. I banned them because I wanted to keep the match one-on-one with no outside interference.
Regal - If you don’t mind me saying, madam, I think your decision was a little rash. And it did cause me unnecessary grief in my preparation as these two had to leave - so I think it’s only right that you give me another rematch.
Tiffany - As a former GM, you understand the necessity of allowing new superstars a shot at the championship. In tonight’s main event, it’ll be an ECW battle royal to determine a new number 1 contender… Gentlemen, I suggest you go get ready and good luck. Mr. Regal, you’re not getting a match for the ECW Title - instead, you’ll be in action right now! (Hurricane comes out)
(as Regal wrestles in his suit)Striker - It’s unfair to make Regal compete - he’s wearing expensive stuff! He didn’t buy that at Nordstrom!
Striker - It’s hard enough to move around with ring attire - let alone in normal attire as Master Regal is doing here.
(as Birchill jackhammers Hurricane)Striker - DANGEROUS BUSTER! JACKHAMMER-LIKE!
(as Goldust teaches Yoshi English)Yoshi - Who do you think you are? The Rosetta Stone lady!?
Striker - I found a way to tell the Bellas apart - one has a raspier tone.
Mathews - I’m sure they’ll be renewing their restraining order against you shortly.
Striker - OH RADDDIOOO, TELL ME…. Possibly the best entrance theme in ECW!
Mathews - You have a man-crush on Zack Ryder.
Striker - I like his sunglasses, attire, moves, and attitude!
Striker - DRAGON ROLL FROM YOSHI!
Striker - Ryder’s doing all this with a headband on - very Super Calo-esque!
Mathews - Have you ever wrestled with a headband on?
Striker - Not in the knee, no.
Striker - ROARING ELBOW!
Striker - That is the move of his hero as a young man, as are the emerald green tights!
Crowd - Gol-dust! Gol-dust!
Striker - GOLDUST HAS BEEN ELIMINATED! (crowd boos)
Chimel - THE NEW NUMBER 1 CONTENDER TO THE ECW CHAMPIONSHIP - ZACK RYDER!
Striker - HE EXEMPLIFIES EVERYTHING THAT ECW IS ABOUT!

I found an old VHS tape and was checking what was on it. I came across a WWF Raw is War from 11/99 leading up to Survivor Series with the Rock/Austin/HHH main event. The crowd was crazy hot and had a sea of signs, just a very energetic show. We didn't realize how good we had it back then. Even SD now just pales in comparison.

Bah....I hate this bullshit editing they're doing the PPVs for the wrestling show following the PPV (I hope that made sense). It's so freaking annoying the slow down to cut to freeze frame. fuck, just air the damn move. You're not hyping the PPV to me, and you're certainly not making me any more interested in them this way.

Yeah, it looked like gauze that was in his ear.

Also wanted to mentioned. Seems TNA has released Jim Cornette & BG James. Can't say I'm surprised considering neither were really doing anything.

I wonder who they are going to get rid of next?

Don't know about JC, but I believe BG was working behind the scenes. I thought I read somewhere that he was a road agent.

Considering how close BG James is with Jarrett these seems to indicate a loss of stroke on Jarrett's part.

Yeah, and they expect us to pay $40 just to watch an "OMG" move

I'm watching ECW right now and thinking that Zack Ryder needs a move to go with his "woo woo woo". Something like Austin Aries' pendulum elbow, with a woo for each motion.

HHH is going to be in Mayweather's corner for the fight this weekend.

Bank on WWE trying to get some kind of HHH - Batista mini-feud going around the time of the next in line Mayweather - Pacquiao fight. Dave was in Manny's corner for his fight against Hatton.

Finally, the WWE makes a right decision.
Both Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness are expected to bypass developmental and go right to a main roster.
Other bits from the newest Observer -
The death of actor Patrick Swayze on 9/14 from pancreatic cancer at the age of 57 had two ties to wrestling. Swayze starred in the 1989 movie “Roadhouse,” which also included Terry Funk, and the two did a fight scene where Funk put him over in that movie. Less known is that Swayze’s uncle, “Beautiful” Bruce Swayze had a long career as both a wrestler and later a manager.

We don’t know details, Roddy Piper is apparently seriously ill. He has pulled out of shows on 9/25 and 9/26 in Danbury and Malden, CT.

WWE 24/7 Classics is filming two roundtables later this month. It’s been touch and go whether to continue the series due to economic cutbacks. The subjects will be “The Lost Art of Wrestling Managers” and “The Culture of Southern Wrestling.” Jim Ross, J.J. Dillon, Michael Hayes, Jimmy Garvin and one other person yet to be determined will do the shows.

Joe Babinsack noted Bruno Sammartino’s reaction to C.M. Punk being called the only straight edged world champion in history, is that he didn’t really know what the straight edge term meant, but since he does like to drink a glass of wine with dinner, he doesn’t fit the Punk criteria.

avannah interviewed Burchill who said Hurricane was Gregory Helms, and a fraud. Well, he’s at least half right. Burchill promised to end this charade and eliminate this man. Instead of attacking him, he should just leave him alone with nothing but his twitter and he’ll find a way to eliminate himself.

An interview with Vince McMahon in the new “Untold History of the WWE” magazine (which starts in 1982, at the point Vince bought the company from his father), when asked about when the WWE will acknowledge Benoit as part of company history, McMahon said, “It’s not right to pretend he didn’t exist. It’s one thing to include him as part of a historical perspective, which I believe is okay, and it’s another thing to promote him, which is not okay. The situation is very similar to that of O.J. Simpson, despite his controversy, O.J. was still part of the NFL scene. You can’t deny that he existed.” .

Sad news about Piper since he did just survive cancer, and I found the second Swayze bit to be interesting. I'm not surprised that Nigel and AmDrag will bypass developmental - they've been high on Danielson for a while and clearly have some plans for Nigel as well. I'd love to see them replace Kozlov and Jackson in the Regal faction. That would be quite possibly the biggest faction upgrade ever, although I would rather see them face Regal than team with him. Bruno's reaction to Punk's statement amused me greatly. WWE acknowledging Benoit in their magazine is a pleasant surprise.

Finally, a politician we can trust.
I'd vote for her just because she's limiting her campaign contributions and contributors. That shows more integrity than most of the people running for office.

There's a goddamned grammar error in her ad.

"special interests groups."

another braindead conservative. she'll die in the primaries when whoever the "family values" candidate is creates a negative campaign ad of WWE footage.

The Great Khali was written off of television last night. I'd spoiler tag that, but that's the sort of thing you might want to celebrate early.

Rumor has it that Howard Finkel could replace Lillian Garcia when she finishes up her commitments to Raw. If it happens, thank GOD.
