exactly my point. they made such a big fucking deal about me not picking it up sooner so that they could vacuum it and wash it, but they never fucking checked to make sure the break cable was connected and filled with fluid.

Yeah, that's a little something they should have checked.

In my case, it was a castle nut holding my right CV boot together on the front right corner that wasn't secured correctly. Thankfully, it gave way when I was on a side street turning around, instead of when I was driving down the highway at highway speeds when I was testing it out after it was repaired. Had it done it when I was on the highway, I'd likely have been in a nasty accident.

I bet they rushed that tow truck over. Letting a car off the lot with no brakes... That can be very bad for business I'd imagine.

(P.S. find another garage for your repairs.)

thanks. the garage wasn't my choice, it was an "Allstate Direct Repair Shop". I was rear-ended and I don't have collision on my old car because it's 9 years old with 150k miles on it, so the car went to the repair shop of the woman who hit me's insurance company.

oh yea, btw for everyone, from what i've been finding out in my expert research is that Allstate is the shittiest insurance company to have to deal with if anything happens to your car.

Assuming the insurance company will let her do that. I know mine's very insistant of having the garage that fucked something up fix their own issue.

i'm still pulling for them to give up and total the damn thing and just cut xchika a check.
I thought I already told you to get NSMB? ;)
The only reason I didnt ask about that is because I've already decided that I'm gonna get it. I'm just undecided on a second game to purchase. I'll probably go with Castelvania Portrait of Ruin.

I just ordered Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories from BB.com. I selected in-store pick-up... I know I have to wait for the second confirmation email, but do I just go to the service center, or some shit?
Oh hell yeah, it looks as though I just sold my PS3. McRibs for everybody!
Was it an extra, or your personal one? And why?

And I had no idea McRibs existed any longer...
i'm still pulling for them to give up and total the damn thing and just cut xchika a check.
Might be worth bringing up to them in a loud, direct voice.
Oh hell yeah, it looks as though I just sold my PS3. McRibs for everybody!
Good, now stop crapping in my TL for my pile of crap. Good job on hopefully getting it sold.

Give them your photo ID and the CC you used for the purchase. Assuming everything's OK, they'll get the item and finish up the transaction.
And I had no idea McRibs existed any longer...
I dont think they do. For some reason the thought still lingers in my mind of a Flinstones movie promotion where you ordered a McRibwich meal you'd get 1 of 4 collectors glasses for free. I'm pretty sure I have all 4 sitting somewhere.
Was it an extra, or your personal one? And why?

It was my personal one and it was an unbelievably unsatisfactory experience. And yes, McRibs still exist from time to time. And like the PS3, I'm sure to regret purchasing it later.

Why the hell did you do that? Go in store, grab a GGC, get it for $25 instead of $30.

That reminds me, I have to return Gears of War to BB today and get Killzone and Vice City Stories for $50.
Assuming the insurance company will let her do that. I know mine's very insistant of having the garage that fucked something up fix their own issue.
the car went back to the mechanic that fuck'd it up. it's not my mechanic. i have a good one. the old school kind that knows what's wrong with your car by listening to it drive into the parking lot.
Why the hell did you do that? Go in store, grab a GGC, get it for $25 instead of $30.
I've NEVER seen a GGC in my local Best Buy.
I've NEVER seen a GGC in my local Best Buy.
they hide them. ask. usually the person directing traffic at check-out can grab one for you if you dont see it.
I've NEVER seen a GGC in my local Best Buy.
That's insane, I need to mail you some then.

One store has like 200 of them, and they let me put a penny on them.

And yea, they do hide them... mine has them under the new release CD's on the CD wall with some other gift cards.

I've also seen them near the PC games section, and near the front of the store, and at customer service.

But never near the video games.

And Brak, you know there IS a $5 off any PSP game coupon for Best Buy on this site, right? Don't even need a GGC.
I'd learn hard on your insurance company to get their head out of their ass.
problem is, it's not MY insurance company, it's the insurance company of the woman who hit me. so i'm not even their customer. they could give two shits about me.
That's insane, I need to mail you some then.

at our BB they won't let you put less than $5

Thanks, man. I hope there are no hassles, as I'm having my mom do it. ( I had to use her card. )

I almost shit a brick when I read that you needed a copy of both emails, as I lost my printer. ( How did I lose it? Who knows... ) I double checked the site, and it doesn't mention the email... just a copy of the order number, photo ID and the credit card used. I hope they don't swerve and ask my mom for the emails...

I remember that shit. I also remember the Flintstones / Denny's tie-in that was always advertised on Saturday mornings.

Because of those, and for years to come, I referred to "corndogs" and "cornasauruses".
The only reason I didnt ask about that is because I've already decided that I'm gonna get it. I'm just undecided on a second game to purchase. I'll probably go with Castelvania Portrait of Ruin.
Very good. I love it when people act on my superb suggestions.

Every GGC that is activated costs Best Buy a little money. They are idiots to let somebody put $0.01 on them. My store has a $5 minimum, though the last 2 times I've used one I just took it up (unactivated) with the game I wanted and explained to the cashier that I could either put $5 on the card then use the card and coupon for the game I'm about to buy, or they could just scan the coupon and not bother with the gift card. It's a little obnoxious, granted, but worked both times.
And Brak, you know there IS a $5 off any PSP game coupon for Best Buy on this site, right? Don't even need a GGC.
Are you fucking serious?

Edit: How long do you think Killzone will be on sale? I might just use it on that...
Good, now stop crapping in my TL for my pile of crap. Good job on hopefully getting it sold.
I don't know, spamming your TL might be good luck for me. And stop making duplicate accounts; I just had to ban Shrike4242JEWFU(KER.

Killzone is on sale until Saturday, same as VCS.

I could have sworn there is also a $5 off PSP one floating around, but this one works fine.

Damn. I won't have any extra spending cash until next week.

Oh, well.

Want to be sneaky? Grab a copy of the BB ad this week and PM it at Circuit City or Wal-Mart next week.

I have NEVER had an employee check the dates on the ads... EVER. And if they do, just say "Oh, wow, I didn't realize it was for last week, sorry"

I once pm'ed a two week old ad to Circuit City.

Haha, yea, just one of many ;)

It'll help that it's the week before Christmas and the employees just want to give you your $10 off and get you the hell out of the store.

Sorry, make that three accounts.

I just got that coupon in the mail.

Too bad today's TRU coupon is for shitty DS games. Think I can try and buy a different one and hope to get a dumbass employee?

Edit: And my Elebits shipped today from Konami. Woo!

Is Vice City Stories any good? I'm tempted to order it off BB's site, even though I won't have a PSP for at least ten more days.

They scan the coupon and it probably takes it off the correct games automatically. (At least that's how it appeared to work when I bought FF3.) It's possible you might be able to convince a cashier the computer F'ed up and didn't take $20 off whatever DS game you have, but it doesn't seem likely to me.

Its Vice City Stories with a fresh coat of paint.

If you liked Vice City, you'll probably like this.

motherfuckers. the mechanic says that my breaks are shot and it's not related to the accident. he's saying the reason my breaks aren't working is because they were fairly old and rusty. i asked him if i hadn't been in the accident, would i have been able to go a while before getting new breaks. he said yes. to me, that means the insurance should be responsible.

I had a similar issue when I had a fan belt break on my car and it took out the belt for my engine's supercharger. The extended warranty wouldn't cover the second belt, though after my mechanic and I told them that it was related to the failure of the first belt, they grudgingly fixed it.

The brake issue is something that's been caused by the accident, because they were working beforehand and not working afterwards. If they actually checked them, they'd see the issue.

Time to have a nice chat with the insurance company, because they're supposed to restore your car to the same condition it was before the accident, which is with working brakes.
I just got that coupon in the mail.
I just got the PSU one too. This booklet thingy actually makes the PSP look cool, other than the games its advertising.

Booklet actually looks cooler than the PSP itself. Ever since the lite came out, the PSP looks about as sexy as the old horizontal GBAs.

motherfuckers. the "working breaks" according to the mechanic were "barely" working. fucker's changing his statement now. he says the breakjob that the car needs is front and rear, all cables, rotors calipers and pads. he's saying it will cost near $600. motherfucker. if i knew the car was in that bad condition, i wouldn't have had all of the repairs done. I've left messages for the insurance adjuster to call me back. with this much "work" that needs to be done, the car should have been totalled.

i've gOTT next
