"The WOCKA WOCKA Value Pack"

It is currently selling for $34.99 with a $5 off coupon (you must be signed in to see the ption to clip the coupon) for the deluxe Blu-ray, and that apparently that release includes not only the Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Copy, and it also includes what appears to be a digital copy of the soundtrack as well. So for your preorder it is $29.99 now but as always if price drops from $34.99 you will get lowest price minus the $5 coupon.

Went right at open....my store had six in the display (actually five since I saw an employee pull one before the doors opened) so I managed to pick one up without any trouble.

Was told I had to checkout at the customer service desk to get my preorder taken off, which was fine with me. Then the lady tried to tell me I couldn't use the coupon on the lunchbox set, so I told her the ad says otherwise. She looked at the ad and agreed with me but according to her the coupon wouldn't work (though I never saw her try to actually scan it) but she messed around on the computer and took the five bucks off. She was really nice the whole time, so I can't complain too much.

bought one for store pickup... apparently it's monsoon season here, so i didn't want to have to run to the store this morning. spring break in a college town, probably wouldn't really have been an issue anyway, but i'm glad it's sitting at customer service waiting for me :)

Just picked up the last lunchbox at my Best Buy.

From the display I saw, the Wocka Wocka pack is stocked in much lower quantities than anything else. There were at least 6 racks of the regular Blu, a 2-4 DVD racks, and only one rack of the Wocka Wocka pack.

It's interesting to note, too, that both in-store and online list the Wocka Wocka pack at $34.99... so, really, if you wanted it, it's a good idea to get the lunchbox (which comes with that version) at $27.99. Bizarre.

It is really stupid of BB to not lower the price of the WW pack, considering the lunch box edition is less money now. The lunch box will likely be gone by the time I'm able to go to a BB, but if If I'm able to find the WW edition I'll just PM to Target's price of $24.99. If they have a problem with that, I'll go to Target and get it, and come back another time to get back my $7.50 deposit.

This is the first time that I've done one of these Best Buy "pre-orders" in-store... How do they handle crediting the deposit, exactly? I need to have the receipt from the metal case with me, right? And then I have to take it to customer service?

I was stupid and forgot that receipt at home this morning, and I was planning on stopping at BB on my way home after work. :wall: Wondering if I can get away with printing a copy of the receipt from the Reward Zone site, or whether I'll need to have the original...

I'm honestly fine with just taking the regular blu-ray release, as long as they'll take the $5 coupon for it. Wondering how much hassle they'll give me over the coupon saying that it's for the WW edition, though...

Yeah, that really baffled me. I assumed it was a mistake or just hadn't been changed (like the pricetag on the lunchbox saying $39.99), but the actual shelf tag said $34.99. Checked BB.com, same thing. Weird.

Since you brought it up... I picked up two of the pre-order cases, one for a friend who likely isn't buying it at Best Buy. So, I can actually get my $7.50 back for that? That'd be pretty fantastic.

oh man. im at work. i checked for availability for the lunch box in NYC. most places are out. isnt it pointless to do preorder at best buy? not guaranteed a copy of it.

Make sure ya'll scour everywhere for the lunch box and not just the stand. Store I was out easily had eight. There were some placed on top of other displays for new releases. So crazy the reg WW Pack is $35!! And remember, they don't even have to scan coupon. They need to hit total first, then press F7 to take the coupon, type in $5.00, done!

Yeah, on the back paper that comes with the case it says that if the pre-order isn't redeemed by 4/15 it can be refunded at Customer Service. I've done it once before, you just have to bring the receipt to CS and they'll refund you.

Awesome, thanks. This is the first time I bought anything like that from Best Buy, and I have no idea where I put the paperwork that came with the case, aside from the receipt.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you weren't guaranteed the lunch box version..and u pre-ordered to get SB which may be far more valuable. You have to open the lunch box to enjoy the film, but can always keep the SB sealed.

No lunchbox for me. I didn't even see any basic WW packs, not that I'd pay $35 for it anyway. If I stop at a Target I'll think about getting one, otherwise I'll just wait like I do for a lot of movies. My BB would probably have issues PMing the 24.99 since the ad says blu+dvd+digital+sampler+soundtrack and obviously BB wouldn't have the sampler. Plus there is no picture to show it is just the WW pack.

I just checked my online order. They have shipped my steelcase, however my actual muppets movie + lunch box is on backorder....!

So the question now is do I cancel my BB order and keep the steelcase then order the 3 disc from amazon?

Got really lucky at my best buy this morning. Showed up almost 10 minutes before opening

Went to the front door and no less than 5 mins later 15 people showed up behind with no less than half holding coupons and pre-order slips

I grabbed one of the 5 lunchbox combos. After inspecting the box I turned to see the rest were already swooped up

Tons of the regular DVD and blu-ray packages but only two wocka-wocka combos

After I finished at customer service I overheard the manager saying to remove the display because they were already out of the lunchboxes.

A very unusual size crowd for my store especially considering the release

All in all the lunchbox is really sweet and got out for way cheaper than best buy's god-awful stand alone wocka wocka

Thanks again to the CAGers cancelled my amazon pre-order thanks to this post.

Yeah, my BB only had 3 lunchboxes and a bunch of people there at opening. Thankfully I got mine and was out the door... they were gone REALLY fast.. at checkout the CSR had a bit of an issue applying both the preorder and coupon (she seemed a bit confused by the coupon, probably since it wasn't the "straight" Wocka Wocka edition) but it all worked out.

The lunchbox was a pretty nice bonus for the same price as we normally just get Disney bluray combos.

Oddly, all of the stores around here still list the lunchbox as available. Maybe they shipped more to this area than others or something.

Anyway, I decided not to risk it since I won't be able to get there until this evening, and called and asked them to hold one for me. Also asked about the pre-order receipt issue, and they said that they can just look up and print out a copy of the receipt for me there.
Anyone else who preordered the lunchbox edition on BB.com have their order put on backorder?
Sometimes BB pre-orders slide into backorder if they haven't shipped by day of release (but will still ship on time), but in this case I'm not entirely sure, especially as the lunchboxes are showing OOS for shipping. If it wasn't a limited quantity situation I would say you're fine, but not sure in this case.

I was the second person into my nearest Best Buy... but, of course, they placed The Muppets display way off to the side, so I didn't see it as I headed toward the new releases and the other displays. 10 seconds later, the TWO lunch box sets that store got were gone. Dammit. I even asked and they said that's all they got.

So... I decided to drive to the next nearest Best Buy, about 10 mins away. Got there... and they easily had 8 of them. I hate the inconsistent stocking of these limited edition titles. But, at least I got one.

Ugh.. I used to love the management at my local Best Buy. They would always go the extra mile for me and improvise to keep me a happy customer. Such is not the case anymore. The new manager goes out of her way to cock block me from any and every deal that most other managers wouldn't be so stingy about. She refuses to price match Fry's because it's apparently 25.3 miles away, and their price match policy is 25 miles or less. -_-

So I come in, grab the lunchbox edition, head to the customer service counter, and of course she's there to "help" me today. She applies my $7.50 from my pre-order to the purchase price, and then I show her my $5 Manufacturer's Coupon, and she rejects it. She tells me it's just for the Wocka Wocka edition. I told her the lunchbox comes with the Wocka Wocka edition. She then tells me I have to buy the standalone Wocka Wocka edition for $35 to get the $5 off, and asks me if I'd rather do that.

Why would I agree to get the standard Wocka Wocka edition for $35 so I can use my $5 coupon to get it for $30, when I can get the lunch box for $28? Not to mention, no other retailer is charging that much for it. It's a mfg. coupon.. they get reimbursed from Disney, ffs!

She wouldn't even let me use the coupon on the $22.99 standard Blu + DVD combo pack, effectively rendering my coupon absolutely useless at Best Buy.

I'd likely have had no issues had I just brought the item to a cashier and had them do it for me, and just gotten my $7.50 back down the line. Oh well, at least I was able to get one, not that I have much of a use for the lunchbox. :p

I used my $5 coupon successfully at walmart on the finger puppets gift set that does NOT have the Wocka Wocka edition in it, it was just the blu ray + dvd combo.

They fed me that line as well, but it's actually stated in the ad that it's $22.99 after $5 online coupon so they took it off for me. I'd like to know how she could argue against the store's own ad encouraging customers to use the coupon on that specific item.

Yeah, that's what I was going to say. It's in the Best Buy ad that the coupon is valid with the lunchbox version. She has no grounds on which to refuse you for that one.

I'd call customer service and make a complaint. At the very least they'll have it on record that she's going against company policies (do you have her name so that you can tag it on her specifically?), and at best, maybe they'll give you some Reward Zone points to make up for it.

Great news! I'll take my receipt to Best Buy, snatch an ad, and rub it in her face. I'll just have her do a return and rebuy honoring the coupon.

Thanks for the info!
Amazon dropped to $24.99, so I guess that means in a day or two, I'll be refunded $5... right?
I noticed that as well and did a live chat with an Amazon rep just to double-check. She told me that a $5 refund should be issued in the next 24-48 hours.

I get mixed results every other time I use a MFC. Last time I got problems was with PIB. I got lip from the cashier saying it's not for items that are on sale when 1-the coupon doesn't say that ANYWHERE and two the coupon is only good for 2 days (since it was released on a friday)...

They also gave me problems with Footloose.

Anyways walked out paying about 16.xx for the lunchbox edition since apparently they didn't carry the WW edition...hmm...
I saw 3, 2 from the guy picking up and 1 in the shelf. So pissed!
yep 1 to keep, 1 to flip high on ebay/cl :(

The lunchbox alone should go for a high price.....what no thermal mug!!!! argh :(

well my online order is back ordered as well. When i called customer service she asked if i just wanted to cancel the order... are u serious wtf?

My local store is of course sold out as well, but a store 30 minutes away has one. Tempted to waste 10$ in gas and over an hour of my time to pick it up since the chances of best buy fulfilling the online order is slim to shit.

I went to Best Buy to pick up my preorder too.

My customer service cashier had to call someone over to help (She did not know you could preorder movies nor what to do with it). Afterwards she looked at my coupon and stated it couldn't be used because this version came with a lunchbox. I said its in the ad so she called a manager over. They let me use the coupon.

I have a friend that works at a Best Buy on the East Coast, I live on the West Coast, so thankfully he gave me a heads up. As soon as his store opened, they sold out of the lunchbox editions, all two. I got to my store early and they had five. I grabbed one and three of the other people that were outside waiting grabbed one each too.

Shouldn't Best Buy learn and just order more?

Was on the fence on getting this movie, was going to get it for my wife as she loves the Muppets and I just found out about the lunch box...looks like I found out too late.

They have completely removed the lunchbox version from the BB website. All of the stores in my area were OOS before I had a chance to pick one up today. I should have just ordered online and tried to do a return/rebuy with the $5 coupon and $7.50 preorder case.

How did you pay $16.xx, I paid $25.xx after coupon.

7.50 PRE-ORDER + 5.00 MFC + tax =Win! or (16.xx!)

Too bad the pre-order wasn't for the Lunch box edition as it would have made sure that you would get a copy (and them ordering enough for the pre-orders)...I was really damned lucky to get one after 4pm.... I know when Tangled came out, that pascal doll went quick! :(

Wow.. so I went back to Best Buy and the manager was there to "help" me again. I told her that the $5 coupon did, in fact, apply to the lunchbox edition, and showed her the weekly ad that specifically said that the lunchbox edition was $22.99 WITH COUPON, and $27.99 WITHOUT COUPON.

She took the ad from my hands, and squinted at it for no less than 30 seconds, as I awkwardly stood there waiting for her to apologize. She then follows up with, "Well, it doesn't say which coupon it works with." I told her I had the one and only $5 MFG coupon straight from Disney. "Yeah, well, I was specifically told by my DM not to apply those to anything but the $35 edition." I showed her it clearly works for all editions in the ad.

She tells me she'll go ask about it, and she walks in the back for about 5 minutes. She comes back and told me she was "OK'd to make an exception," (rather than admitting she was wrong), but she'd need me to return the item and re-buy it. What a hassle, especially because she refunded my pre-order money in cash, and the rest to my credit card. The whole ordeal took about 15 minutes.

I think I'll just stick with TRU from now on, honestly. I'd gladly have passed on the lunchbox to save an extra trip and 25+ minutes in-store wasted, in retrospect. -_-

I happened to stop at a Target tonight and they had plenty of the WW packs. $20 after coupon isn't too bad considering BB is $23 for just blu+dvd pack. Also grabbed blu/dvd combo packs of Muppets From Space and Muppets Take Manhattan for $10 each.

Yeah, the store I went by didn't have any of the lunchbox editions left either... the display stand looked like it maybe held 2 at one point. Pretty pathetic.

My Best Buy had 5 Wocka Wocka Lunchbox sets when they opened this morning at 10. When I left there were only 2 left. 2 other people bought them when I was looking around the store. Glad I decided to go when they opened!

grabbed the tin and preodered last wk but i was afraid the lunchbox would b gone so i ordered online and went to pick it up. they still had a lunchbox on display. so i asked about using the coupon on online order. the girl nicely let me ring up the one put away for me using the coupon then said i could cancel my online order. and my friend bought the other one w a coupon. so i got 2 lunchboxes and a tin and used the coupons

I wasn't planning on getting the lunch box but I was at Best Buy and the guy said they only got 2 in and sold them right away.

just got this from BB.com:
The item listed below is not yet available to be shipped. We expect to ship it within the next 1-2 weeks. We will ship the item sooner if it becomes available.

#fail

Time to cancel and order from amazon. It could be worse they did ship the steelbook for free though and didn't charge me so that is a positive. Also yesterdays local.amazon means I basically get it for $20.

AAaand there we go. Got my $5 refund this morning.

$19.99 shipped for the Wocka Wocka with no driving to the store or hunting for a stupid lunchbox...

I too got one of bestbuy's emails.
