The NFL 2012-13 Season Thread - Super Bowl XLVII is the Harbaugh Bowl!
I have never been a bigger Browns fan than I am today. My son thinks it is hilarious that the Browns have orange helmets but we will be rooting for them.
I will be rooting for them as well ;)
I didn't think your family could collect on insurance if you killed yourself. Knowing this I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.
If it is found that she wasn't actually Belcher's child they may not have to pay out at all

Most life policies have a suicide clause to discourage the practice. So either Belcher's policy didn't have one or the circumstances so extreme that the clause was waived.
Leaving my Fantasy title hopes in the hands of Philip Rivers... Yikes.
Dude, mine are in the hands of Chris Johnson on Monday night. I just know I'll be down like 5 or 6 points going into Monday night and my opponent will be done and I'll have CJ2K going. Not feeling so great about it.
Heres to hoping the Browns can beat the Redskins and the Falcons can beat the Giants.
Those games don't matter much to me but I definitely need your Cowboys to beat the Steelers today!

The defense is handling Alfred Morris and Kirk Cousins quite well so far with a huge INT by TJ Ward and a record-breaking TD run by Trent Richardson. The rookie rushing TD record now belongs to the ordinary Trent Richardson, so that's one Jim Brown record down.

And of course Giants decide to pick this game to revert back to the brainfart Giants. Running when they need to pass, passing when they need to run, leaving points on the board, letting washed up fat ass turner to run on them lmao sigh just beating themselves might as well just throw in towel. Now gotta hear more fraudcons talk and Cowgirls talk since they wont be able to stop talking about them since they might have a chance to take division. Hopefully Redskins put a stop to that

LOL @ Sam Shields flopping then has the nerve to talk shit

Looking very forward to the Pats/49ers game tonight. I think the Pats can win this but San Fran does have the defensive tools to stop them...going to be a good battle and better than last week I think.

Pathetic showing by the Giants. Just awful. A WC is still in play since the Bears lost but both the Cowboys and Redskins will be ahead of them after today. So they have to win out and hope for a loss by someone ahead of them. Ugh.

I laughed at the pre-recorded promo for next week's game that said "The Giants are back in championship form and take on the Ravens next week" or something close to that.

I fully put the blame of the Browns' loss on the jinxed, sudden support of Javery and Superstar. :p-(

But really, it was odd to see the defense put so much effort into stopping the run but give up passes left and right like it was the end of the game and they were playing prevent defense.
Almost all of this week's games are going to be good - most have playoff implications. This is why the NFL is so popular - just about every team can suck on year and be relevant or even good the next unlike baseball where I cal already name 20 teams that have no shot at the post season next year.
So it turns out just about all of the games this week (including Thursday) have not been close at all.

I can't believe the Lions are losing like they are to Arizona.

Haha. A buddy of mine went to that game, too. It was his first browns game.

This is fucking unbelievable. The Bears started the season 7-1 and are now 8-6 and may miss the playoffs. :headache: Nothing worst than losing to a division rival and having them clinch the division on your home field like the Packers did today. The offensive line as well as the tight end position need to be addressed in the offseason. I guess The Bears got to win out (@Ari,@Det) have Min lose at least one game and have WSH or the Giants lose one game since the Bears own the tiebreaker against Dallas I believe.

Nicest thing I can say about this game is that Belichick will have plenty to yell about this week. Pretty much everything that could go wrong for the Pats in this game has.

Oh well, looks like they're going to have to go to Denver in the playoffs.

What da fuck... this entire day has had some head scratchers. The Giants get shut out, New Orleans shuts out Tampa Bay (its Tampa Bay and all but still, New Orleans D has been terrible this year), and now the 49ers are holding the Patriots to a single field goal?

I thought for sure that playing 49ers defense against the Patriots in fantasy would be a bad idea (as good as 49ers are, the Patriots rarely get kept to low scores) I was proven completely wrong.

Doubt it. The NFL always gives the Patriots the easiest schedule. Denver will have to play in Foxboro.

I know this can't be the case since it was in the forecast all week, but it almost looks like they didn't even practice with a wet ball.

That would require the Broncos to lose at home to either Cleveland or Kansas City. I don't see that happening.

Edit: Unless you were being satirical. If so, well played.

If the Broncos get the home seed the Pats have to go to Mile High no matter what

Damn, Pats getting beat DOWN.... AT HOME!

This Broncos squad is seriously rolling now. Miller has a quiet night and Manning too relatively speaking, and they easily handle the Ravens. (I realize they aren't one hundred percent, but they're virtually a lock at home). Knowshon (who I was convinced was a complete bust) had two awesome weeks in a row. I gotta say they're the best team on both sides of the ball right now.

 Your edit nailed it.

But everybody knows that the NFL is in bed with the Pats. If Belichick wants to stay home in January, then Denver is going to Massachusetts.

Denver is definitely the one place I didn't want the Pats to play. But if they can't win there, they don't deserve to go all the way anyway.

I would be in a much more sour mood right now if I hadn't coasted into my Fantasy final today.

Oh now Brady shows up.

I know Ridley's in the doghouse, but giving it to Woodhead twice in a row inside the 5 yard line against the best rushing D in the league? Come on.
lol a spike no flag oh wait i forgot who the qb is
They whistled the timeout after the ball was snapped. Every QB in the NFL would have been pissed there.
I fucking love them going for it on 4th there. That's playing to win as opposed to playing not to lose.
I totally agree. Would have been furious if they had punted there.
loving the boos asking for a flag on every godamn throw. Is this Green Bay?
I'm guessing you hate the patriots? ;)
Inb4morezonecoverage
That whole "rushing the passer" thing was working too well for them I guess.

Harbaugh you deserve everything that happens to you in this game. Why on Earth Belichick seems to be the only coach in the nfl that understands the motto "If it isnt broke dont fix it" is beyond me. It doesn't matter how many scores your up you never play conservative.
