I'll preface this by saying I'm not really a hockey fan, though I do like the Avs and the Ducks (back when they had Selanne and Kariya): What makes them "lucky" by winning games by only one goal each time? Can't it be seen as just there being great parity between the teams? They went into a game missing their best player on the road and came away with the win.
Thanks in advance for the explanation. (BTW, what's the news on the rating for NHL on NBC the past few games?)
Because you are not a hockey fan, you may not see all the lucky bounces they've got and questionable calls that have gone in their favor. There were plenty of instances against Detroit that they got so lucky, it made me sick.
The goal they got despite pushing Hasek into the net. They won that game in OT.
The late game no call where the Ducks very clearly had too many men on the ice, but the refs didn't see... the Ducks scored shortly after. They won by 1.
The strange bounce off Lidstrom's stick to tie game 5 in the final minute. They won in OT.
The list goes on...
