I went to a few sales today and could not find any video games.  Someone advertised a bunch of Pokemon figures so I went to grab my wife a Squirtle figure (ended up being a large drink bottle).  They had a bunch more items and I bought the following for $25

- loose 1992 Deadpool Figure

- loose Joker Hush Figure

- loose Batman Hush Figure

- loose 2004 Darkseid figure

- loose Hush Poison Ivy Figure

- loose 2015 Power Armor Lex Luthor figure

- loose Unknown set Batman figure with stand

- a box of Pokemon Cards with 42 Foil Rares and 1 EX Card

- Box of G1 Transformers with some accessories - G1 Brawn, G1 Red Alert, G1 Skids, G1 Hoist, G1 Bluestreak, G1 Twintwist, G1 Sideswipe

- A near complete Diaclone including Small figures (missing missles)

The Diaclone was the steal of the day.  I dont usually buy toys unless they are G1s or boxed but once I saw the G1 and pokemon cards I decided to take a chance on the DC figures.  I left a lot of DC figures and I may go back in the morning and grab them.  The Diaclone looks really nice on the shelf in the game room.

^nice finds!

I would assume was dreaming or dead if I saw any G1 Transformers at a yard sale around my area.

Found some Lego at a community yard sale for $1.50.

[attachment=22199:IMG_20160604_101740.jpg]

It started at 8 but I want able to get there till 9. Not that it would've mattered since apparently people came at 7:30am and bought all the lego from a different stand

Off to a....start this year.

I bought one of those Frogger games for $30 from a Flea Market/Thrift Store and wish I wouldve tested it. It had sound but I could never get the lights to work. I took it back and they had a no refund policy. Tried to resolder some points on the board...nothing. Tossed the electronics and kept the shell for a display piece.

Found 4 neighborhood community sales and a church sale today and yesterday. Good weekend. Here's what I got.

This sale had a bundle of 2 PS2s, a NES/SNES player, and a Gamecube, plus PS2/SNES/NES games for $50. There were controllers/cables as well

Paid 50 cent for this

Church sale picked this all up for $10. The guy who's it was had to leave for a few mins and I guess he gave his buddy permission to sell it.

[attachment=22254:X360.jpg]

This all was $10. Mega Man x6, Spyro 2, and Omega Boost were the highlights of this pickup.

[attachment=22250:ps2 1.jpg]

This was $25. Resident Evil 2 has both discs and they work but alot of scratches.
[attachment=22251:ps2 2.jpg]

Games in clear cases 50cent each. (GTA V Xbox 360, King of Fighters 99)
Rest of games were $1 each except COD which was $3 each.

Edit 6/6: Uploaded pics to the computer to have them facing the right direction. For some reason on mobile they go sideways.

Damn, that sucks. :(

I just threw some cheapo batteries from Dollar Tree in it and it seems to work fine.

Eagle Arion 2.1 speakers for $10

I got these same speakers at a sale last year. According to the Amazon reviews, some revisions have a separate volume control for the subwoofer. But mine didn't, and it's almost ridiculously loud. Still really good speakers though, as long as you don't have any downstairs neighbors who will complain about the noise. :p

A $10 PS2 Slim with a ton of games?! A $10 Xbox 360 S? Sheesh, someone got incredibly lucky. Who has deals like that, anyway? Do you live in a large city or somethin'?

Some good finds today:

NES console and 2 controllers with Zelda, Metroid and Tecmo Superbowl - $10

Ms. Pacman complete in box SNES - $10

Bronze Nintendo DSi XL - $15

Apple touch mouse - $5

X360 NCAA Football 14 - $1

Not bad for a rainy morning hoping next weekend is nice weather cause it's our community sale.

I don't remember "Getaway", is he one that wasn't on the cartoon like "Whirl"?
He was in the comics, but I don't think he was in the cartoon. I just remember him because he had the little figure. I think there were only 6 or 7 different ones with the little figures. I know I had a decepticon jet that had a little guy (I think the decepticons were all jets) and there was an Optimus and a couple other autobots.

Went to the annual lake tapps garage sale. Didn't see much guy was selling the Fallout Lootcrstr for $80. My brother bought that

Saw some random pop figures, a few Xbox one and Wii games. I bought a untested ps2 slim for $7. House of the Dead Overkill for $5, and a ps2 slim with hookups, memory card, and 2 controllers (1 is wireless).

It also came with guitar hero 3 with guitar, buzz quiz games and controllers, and a few misc games for $25

Didn't see any retro games and we have been going to this since 2010.

Lots of plug and play games

First sale I went to advertised games...turned out to want $40 for a PS1 and $60 for a SNES. No thanks. Got lucky at some others, though.

[attachment=22214:IMG_6072.JPG]

Paid $5 for all three of these. Battlefront is pretty beat up, but no deep scratches so I'm reasonably sure it still works. Haven't got to testing it yet.

[attachment=22215:IMG_6071.JPG]

Got the glow sticks for free with the games above. Paid $3 for the Wacom tablet since the seller didn't know if it worked. It boots up fine but the calibration is totally off (cursor just starts flickering all over the screen). Need to do some further testing to determine whether it's the pen or the tablet that's the issue.

It's not unusual to see PS2 lots for $20 or less even in my area; if you ever try selling them for $35-40 you'll have a hard time-- last time I sold one of these I actually had to supply the guy with two because he said the console burned out after about 1.5 hours of play. It's actually better to sell the fats; from what I've seen the Slims make poor contact with the power supply cable, which causes technical issues for everyone who isn't wise to it.

I have a few minutes, so it is time for a post!

6-7-16

Saw this at a sale. Lady said it gave her an error when she tried to connect the "sony air" component, so they never ended up using it. (some of the speaker wires are still wrapped). It is 100% complete and looks brand new. She wanted $25 because it was basically new and because she figured it wasn't working properly. She said I could return it if I couldn't fix the error. I said: "How about $10 for it and you will never see me again?" (jokingly).

Paid $10

Got this from an elderly woman who was using it with a wii fit (that I left b/c she wanted $20 for the board). Movies were $1 each, except the Target exclusive Monsters Inc was $2 because it was still sealed. She wanted $15 for the CIB wii.  Paid $20 total.

This lady was a dealer. Whats good about a dealer is they overprice stuff, but rarely go back and reprice things. This lot was $10 in a gallon bag and I could tell she had it for a while. She wouldn't deal on it, but I think it was still worth it...

more to come...

Did you ever get the DVD system working? Nice pickup on the wii. Dont get why people would tear the gba covers off.

I haven't had time to try it out yet, so it is sitting in my parents garage. I still have a couple SONY speakers I bought cheap last year to test. I really need to see if I can invest in some connectors to attach to my larger gauge speaker wires to make swapping out equipment easier.

I had a great day today in terms of sales. Got a huge (80s) GI Joe lot!

I had a pretty good day last Saturday despite having some errands to run in the middle of yard sale time. Everything I grabbed, sans some baby toys, are in the pic below and here's the rundown:

-Books, DVDs and messenger bag are from the same place I picked up the video games from last week and were $15. The seller was pretty cool and I noticed a lot of other stuff while I was there the week before so I went back and scored this stuff. Most of it's for me, but some of the weirder books are for my friends.

-NES and SNES games were acquired at a community sale for $26. Dude also has a SNES but he wanted $50 for it, so I left that behind.

-PS2 and Wii games were $10. I always pick up Koei or Capcom games when I see them.

Hit up a community yard sale today.

First yard sale had a bunch of Wii games. Grabbed Donkey Kong County Returns for $5. They also had the U-Draw game and tablet for $10 and a DDR mat and game for $10, but I passed. Sadly, no Wii itself.

I also found a copy of Austin 3:16 Uncensored on VHS for 25 cents. I had bought the Attitude Collection edition years ago new, but something happened and it cut to static part way through and wouldn't play.

Finally, bought a bag full of 5 PA license plates for $4. Lady said to make an offer, and I had four ones. She probably would've taken less, but I've noticed license plates are going up in price. Turned out the only old one, a 1958, I saw at the bottom turned out to be in really rough shape with a huge chunk of paint worn off, but ah well.

Saw a bunch of stuff I passed on mainly because I was walking and also it was untested. Saw a smaller Vizio flat screen for $20. Looked like it was 15" or 17" or so. Didn't say on it it worked, though. Also saw a first model 360 for $15 with cables but no controllers. Said "works great" but was written in a classic "mom" signature and there was an older lady running it and I figured there was a good chance her kid told her it worked great when it didn't. Plus, I forgot what the good boards of those first models were stamped.

Saw a bunch of other 360 and PS3 games and one classic XBox (Brothers in Arms), but nothing interesting for the price.

Went to a rummage sale held by a church in town. Nothing super special, but I found a cache of Wii and classic Xbox games (none of which will play on my 360 for some reason, grr). Also got a Logitech speaker and some blank DVD-RWs, which should come in handy. $5 for those two items plus Sonic Heroes and Halo 2 Collector's Edition. Were there supposed to be two discs in there? I just have one, and it's recognized as a DVD.

Plugging along...

IMG_1169_1.jpg

:xbox: Stubbs the Zombie
:xbox: The Thing
:br: Pacific Rim (w/ slipcover)
:br: Ghost in the Shell 25th Anniversary Edition

$10 total

Some guy nabbed a cheap gamecube with some games from this sale just as I was pulling up...I think Stubbs is probably worth more than whatever he got though.

:ps2: Clear grey dualshock 2, black dualshock 2 :wii: black nunchuk - $6 total

Always controllers. Can't complain, they're useful to have.

The good old ask if they have video game trick worked today. Older man in his 80s and his daughter in her 60s were outside with some random stuff. At first the daughter said they didn't have any and as I was walking away the guy said I have a Nintendo there a collectors item now aren't they would you pay $25 for one? They both go in and get the Nintendo which is in excellent shape, after they go in and out another 2 times they finally bring all of this out. Lady said it hasn't been touched in 20 years and from the looks of it I believe it. I offered $20 and the guy said yeah why not, lady wanted $30. Cool older guy was telling me about going to Germany and showing me his old swords.

[attachment=22372:image.jpeg]

I ended up having a decent weekend for once.  I'll add pics later, but the best find of the day were two porn DVDs we found in a box of discs at one sale.  :whistle2:#

My fiance, being the asshole she can be sometimes, loudly and in front of about 20 other people, asks how much are the two porno dvds in the box.  The guy, who was running the sale with I'm assuming were his wife and adult kids, got the "oh shit" look on his face, and faked confusion, before muttering "50 cents each".  I fuck ing lost it and had to walk away.

I'm sure pretty sure, based on his reaction, that he was the only one who knew about the porn and he was trying to slyly unload it without the wife noticing.  I predict an argument will be happening tonight.  But seriously, who sells used porn at a community yard sale?  :puke:

As far as finds:

  • Black Wii (GC-compatible) with wiimote and + adapter and two nunchucks.  He also threw in Skylanders swap force disc and base (no figures) and Wii Sports was still in the drive.  - $10
  • Disc only Ape Escape PS! -.25
  • Animal Crossing City Folk. Godzilla Destroy All Monsters (GC), Sakura Wars (Wii) and Spyro Enter the Dragonfly (GC) - $2.50/ea
  • Skate 3, Portal 2, Tony Hawk Project 8 (all 360) and Super Mario Sunshine - $3/ea
  • iPod Nano 5th gen 16GB w/ broken screen glass -$1
Those are the standouts, but I ended up with a ton more.  I'll try to get pics up later.

I rarely see porn. I did see a chick selling girls gone wild VHS tapes today for 25 cents each. Real porn is hard to get rid of. I bought a huge DVD lot and there were about 150 sealed porn (compilation type) movies mixed in it. I've had them sitting here in a few boxes for like 7 years because it seems like the only place to get rid of them is ebay. Pawn shops and adult shops don't even seem to buy them. Can't sell them on craiglist (though I am tempted to make a listing and try to dump them anyway). I don't want to throw them away.

I'm curious, do you guys read through other people's weekly posts and say, "oh I got that too this week!" to yourself? I wish I could say I found R.O.B., but he still eludes me.

I went out for 4 hours yesterday..................I came home with a Bic lighter I found in the road. I saw some meh 360, Wii, and DS games. Lady said her husband had an Atari but he still played it, which I thought was awesome because they had to be in their 70s! Most of the rest said they didnt have anything. I thankfully didnt hear one, "we already sold that stuff earlier".

I used to get ok money for porn at one of the auction houses I consigned at.

Anyway, my first feel-good game find of the year: Was actually first to a yard sale (at 7:15!) and was able to pick up a Sega Genesis with a bunch of games and a few controllers for $20. In the bunch was

Castlevania: Bloodlines Complete!!

If they're sealed dump a bunch in the woods. Spread them out though if you have that many! The next generation will thank you!

Yesterday was a decent day. Picked up a bunch of comics for $3 and then some random nerf stuff mostly. I did end up getting a retron 2 complete with a few games. Highlights included DKC 1 & 2 and Xmen: Mutant Apocolypse for $22.

So, back to comics. I know nothing about them. What/who is a good resource for getting values of them?

The overstreet price guide is the industry standard. Most libraries have them and the titles are listed alphabetically by the official title/indicia of the comic usually on the 1st page...If you post a pic with them fanned out I could tell you in about 20 seconds if you have anything of value.

EDIT: I went through some of the stuff I bought this weekend and I am taking some pics. I got 3 VHS tapes that are worth about $100!!! (not posting them though...gotta keep some things secret). ;)

The Phantom Stranger, TNMT, Slimer, Two in one with Warlock's grave/starhawk appearance, Uncle Scrooge, Charlie brown, and twilight zone are the ones that I would keep/lookup. Some Uncle Scrooge books are worth money if they are done by Carl Barks, but I do not have the numbers memorized. I don't have a guide here and I can't make out the numbers, but the phantom stranger 22 is a classic Jim Aparo cover. Anything to do with movies is usually worth keeping until it comes out/gets hyped up because it seems like we have a speculative market again like the 90s. I'm not sure if Warlock or the female warlock will be in the new guardians movie, but one of them will have to be if they are going to do the infinity gauntlet story line.

You don't have anything of significant value AFAIK. With comics condition is 90% of the battle.

I kinda figured on some of them. I'll probably just throw them on a local forum and see what happens for $1 each other than the mentioned ones.

Thanks for the glance at them!
