roster update
Wow, you're retarded:

1. Note how it says "as a greatest hits title"? That means it'll be $20 for the new stuff instead of the usual $50-$60 charged by EA.

2. The change to the HO/PO system would fundamentally change the way a lot of songs are played.

3. The practice mode would allow people who didn't much past medium to play on the harder difficulties and nail the harder songs.

4. The relrelease would be sold and advertised as a rerelease, not a sequel.

5. Shut the fuck up.

if the songs are anything like the ones on the PS mag demo.. i started on hard .. medium was too easy for me and expert i needed a few play throughs to get them down (i can't afford the game until next wednesday.. payday)

EDIT: .. in addition though.. most rythem game sequels are just roster updates, no different from sports games.. each offer new songs/players and new modes to play in.. i see GH as no different except rhytem gamers like that each game plays exactly the same with different songs and unlike DDR there are no repeats (which is a good thing IMO)

The game showed up just as I was leaving for school. Motherfucker.

But changing players on a team does little to the actual playing experience, while completely changing the song list does, especially when those songs are more difficult and varied than in the game before it and there are new modes and gameplay tweaks that greatly enhance and/or add to the experience.

No repeats is good but I do really want to play More than a feeling and Killer Queen on Co-op. I would like if they didn't inlcude the same songs but a few (3-4) wouldn't be that bad.

I found the hardest song(s). It might be Jordan by Buckethead, as I'm about to tackle it for the first time since the first day I got GH2 and I don't remember it well, but Six by All That Remains has me in immense and sincere pain right now. I'm struggling to type this. Go into practice mode, pick Expert, and just let the song play at full speed. Heck, attempt it at the slowest. It's uber.

EDIT: Screw what I just said. Jordan starts out semi-hard and becomes impossible. The hardest solo/not solo you've ever seen. Buckethead owns the title of hardest Guitar Hero song without question.

I've been out the last couple days, so let's bring things up to speed:

1. evanft - Any combination of those changes would definitely get my money...let's hope it happens, hm? :) (also, Magilla Gorilla is the only person on this board on my ignore list...it's obvious why)

2. Z-Saber - Buckethead is crazy. I may never do it.

3. I was stuck on that stupid Stray Cats song on Expert for a day, and FINALLY got it. After that, I blew through the rest of the songs until

4. I ran into Reverend Horton Heat. fuck this song. I just can't do it right now. My fingers hurt.

5. The combination of #3 and #4 has confirmed my belief that rockabilly is, in fact, one of the worst genres of music.

6. Laid to Rest, as I expected, wasn't too difficult. fuck you, asianxcore. :)

7. It's kind of boring to play, but I appreciate that they included a doom metal song (Megasus).
5. The combination of #3 and #4 has confirmed my belief that rockabilly is, in fact, one of the worst genres of music.
Not in the fucking slightest. Then again, Stray Cats and The Rev are sorta "Rockabilly Primer," if you will.

I beat Miserlou, and Hangar 18 on my second try, freebird on my first try (expert).

Then I ran into Jordan, and holy shit.. this song whoops my ass every time. I got to 58%, and my starpower gave out and I was done. Insane.

this game gives me motion sickness

if I play a couple songs in a row, wherever i look looks like it's scrolling up :puke:

I get the same feeling sometimes, but it scrolls down and I don't get sick from it.

down, up, same difference ;)
I fucking love this game. Jessica and Crazy on You rule.
Both are easily some of the best songs in the game. So good.

I'll try to remember what my least favorite is. Yes We Can is automatically the worst to everyone, so I'm looking for the second worst. I know Freya is probably my least favorite to play, and the song itself is pretty dull.

It may be a bit easy, but I think Tier 2 is my favorite. I just have way too much fun playing Message in a Bottle and Carry on My Wayward Son. Plus Heart Shaped Box and Strutter are pretty fun too.

You fail at life. The Sword kicks ass. (I do agree, it's not the most fun to play, though)

This thread is so metal. I love this.

Why are there songs that throw in notes that they're not supposed to? On medium, Arterial Black throws an orange in there and I missed it. There are a few that throw in blues on their easy versions.

I have to agree that Yes We Can sucks and I have to wonder why it's in Guitar Hero at all, as it sounds more like a tribal song that anything related to Rock.

I thought Elephant Bones was going to be my favorite bonus track, as it sounds sweet, but then I got that Bang Camaro song...damn, that song is pure rock and roll. It totally sounds awesome.

I think my favorite bonus song is probably Thunderhorse right now. Raw Dog really surprised me in it's high levels of F-U-N LAWL, but I haven't played too many other extra songs.

Probably because this game is generally harder in every way, so throwing in a note or two that was completely forbidden on a lower difficulty in the original is acceptable and should be expected.

Anyone have any idea why my copy of the game seems to enjoy doing this: I've now had it twice say my save file was corrupted and I had to start over. It's starting to get really annoying so I figure I might as well see if anyone else is having it do this.

Personally, I feel that Yes I Can is actually better than their song from the other game. That doesn't make it any good, but I would much rather play Yes I Can than the Megasus bonus song, Institutionalized, Psychobilly and some of the other shitty bonus songs.

The original had songs like that too, especially Guitar Hero. It's kind of a cheap trick.

Solution? Buy/use a different one.

Yeah, I'm prolly gonna switch it to my other memory card but I find it weird that it's only doing it for GH2 and no other game. Plus it's the newer of my two memory cards.

This was on easy, not medium.
This was on easy, not medium.
Bah, it was probably around the same time period either way.
Has anybody else that has used Judy Nails noticed that she has a hole in the back of her head during the end of song celebration?
Sorry, I use Pandora, but I'll try out Judy tomorrow and see if I notice anything.

I hate Psychobilly Freakout. I'm never going to see the last 6 songs in this game.
Sorry, I use Pandora, but I'll try out Judy tomorrow and see if I notice anything.
I believe you'll have to use her alternate costume, as her default costume's hair covers up the back of her head.

That would be Red Lottery. The best song bonus on the other hand is Gemini, hands down. Other than that, and Trogdor, the bonuses are kinda disappointing.

Damn you Living End!!! It's the only main song I haven't 5* on medium. DAMN YOU!!!

I also really wish they would just straight up tell you what the cutoffs are for 4* and 5* scores. I don't feel like waiting for more scores to be submitted to ScoreHero, dammit!

And the thatched roof cottages!!!!!!

The fact that Trogdor was included is awesome. I never would've thought to put that in the game.

I fucking hate Woman's Zerg rush of HOPO's in the middle of the song. I do like how they've give you the option to practice the song if you fail it.
I DID IT! fuck you, Psychobilly Freakout. You're my bitch now.
Nice. That song was a bitch to get through the first time.

I finished Hangar 18 on expert today so I was happy about that. Haven't been playing too much of the game though since I started Final Fantasy XII...
